What’s the deal with Charlie’s mum? I see loads of comments about her but I have no idea what’s gone on with her lol I’ve followed Jane for a while but must of missed something
Ages ago they were saying that Charlie's Mum was going to be made homeless ,and how worried they were. We then didn't hear anymore about that, the subject was dropped. I'm wondering if it's something to do with that. The ideal thing would be for them to let his Mum have the spare room in their new flat, that's what I would do. Charlie is an only child, so he needs to take full responsibility for his Mum and look after her, although I can't ever see Jane agreeing to that!

I'm not sure they have ever said what's wrong with Charlie's mum. They've alluded to her having "problems". Jane has said sometimes, she doesnt look after herself properly. His mums birthday dinner was a big deal- they were concerned she wouldn't come. And then there was talk of her losing her home. I think it's a mental health thing. But Jane seems to have no patience for her. Maybe its alcohol related in some way? (Sorry to speculate) My dad was an alcoholic and, it's most definitely an illness, but often I felt frustrated and angry with him. I had no patience or time for him, at times, which I feel awful about but it's hard when you're so close to the person.
Didnt she collapse at their wedding and miss their reception?

I have a feeling it may be a stroke related, nothing at all though to even think it may be alcohol related! Yes, she did have a funny turn (collapsed?) at the wedding, and she ended up in hospital. Charlie must have felt extremely torn that day between needing to go with his Mum, or to go to the reception with his new wife, I really felt for him.

Tbh if my mum was taken to hospital I'd be in hospital. I'd be expecting the same from my partner as well, if their folks weren't well. Even if it was my wedding day. Especially if they're an only child.

Yes me too, but Jane doesn't think the way most people do. How many people would tell the whole world when their star day is, or when they've had a poo or not, or shove a camera in their husbands faces day in day out. It's so wrong!

If it was a stroke though, would she not say she had a stroke? And during other times when she has been unwell they have never referred to a stroke. Could well be though and maybe for the woman's privacy they dont discuss it. Jane just always seems irritated by her and like all her "episodes" are a massive inconvenience. They're always very cagey talking about her.
I would hope, if the poor woman had a stroke at some stage, Jane would be more patient and helpful! Then again, she will do nothing that disrupts her routine or nana naps!

I'm sure it was mentioned, I'm sure I didn't dream it. Just found the video that mentions that she has previously had strokes, scroll through to 20:36 on this video.

I wonder whether Jane feels slightly resentful about her mother-in-law having to be taken to hospital on their wedding day? Bit of an armchair psychoanalyst here but I'm also wondering if there's some kind of 'competition' over Charlie, especially with him being the only son- maybe I'm talking crap.
I'm not the most dutiful daughter-in-law myself but you'd think Jane would make the relatively short drive every now and then to check up on Charlie's mum or at least keep her company; it must get lonely living on your own, especially when ill. It's not as if Jane works full-time or has children keeping her busy. Or at least visit one weekend with Charlie.

I don't know why but I got the impression she was an alcoholic too. Or some form of addiction anyway. I think because when they were talking about her getting evicted they said they'd been advised not to help her with money

If you help with money, then benefits etc won't. I am pretty sure she is not an alcoholic

I agree with you on all points.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that had those feelings. I cant even pinpoint exactly why but, I've watched Jane and Charlie for a couple of years and it was just little comments and things that have happened. Whatever it is, I hope Jane and Charlie are doing all they can to help. When the poor woman was at risk of losing her home, someone suggested could she move in with them, and It was a flat out "No" with various excuses why. I know i wouldn't want my mother in law to live with me, but if the woman was going to be homeless like they said, I'd absolutely have welcomed her in!

To be honest they shouldn't ever have talked about Charlie's Mum in public, it's not right. Is nothing ever sacred with those two?

She really believes she maintained this week because of two roast potatoes, completely in denial about the fact that she eats portions big enough to feed a family of four. 🙄

If you want to lose weight you need to really want it, I am just not convinced she does. It’s all half arsed and pretending to be okay with 12lb off in 11 weeks. She obviously just clings onto Slimming World for her channel growth.

I think that’s what irritates me about her. Fair enough if she wants to eat like that but she shouldn’t market herself as a Slimming World inspiration to others.
If she was 100% true to plan and had the same small losses, I genuinely would feel more supportive towards her as she would be trying.

Definitely a huge inspiration. I feel inspired not to wear crew neck tshirts, to eat smaller portions and move more. Because I want a neck and I'm also inspired to make sure I'm not slopping food all over the place and filming my hair removal. Can't wait for the vlog where we also get to see toe nail clipping 😂

I guess her minions are all the one's that don't lose a lot of weight neither, and love any excuse to cheat the plan .."If she can do it, so can we." My hubby wouldn't be at all impressed if I did half the things she does on her vlog, some things need to be kept private ie hair removal. I would hate to embarrass my husband, and I'm sure when they have both reached maturity, they will be totally embarrassed when thy look back at the content of some of these vlogs, and hopefully for the sake of any children they may have, they will remove all the vlogs from the internet. I'm actually shocked that her own family don't step in and say something, mine certainly would, I'm glad to say. I notice that she never really mentions Debbie SW who IS a huge inspiration, she's lost something like 15 stone. I would have thought that she would be enough to inspire even the weakest of slimmers like Jane(who has been on SW for approx 5 years!!) but she is not mentioned.

It’s exactly the same as her mate Angie Walton. Most weeks are a maintain or 1lb loss. Not exaclty shining examples of how great the plan is

Debbie always seems really nice. Presses on every week, doesn't try and sell herself being extra loud or over the top. She must get some backhanded remarks and general sour attitudes from this lot who don't stick to it,that same eye roll at it all lol.
