Channel 4 pays far more than the BBC and Michael Grade has previously said the salaries there are obscene Its likely she’s on over £250k. A comma Director five years ago was on double that so it could well be a lot more
& Partner likely has private healthcare the whole family will be under, too. Not that we'll ever hear about any of that stuff as she's telling the masses to dip their finger into out of date can froth and give it a taste.

Gotta ask what does she mean by 41/2 GCSEs, being Irish I don't know the UK system all too well.
You can do short course GCSES that are worth half a GCSE. Usually religious studies.
I have a half gcse in RE and one in Citizenship. But I don't even bother including them on my CV and such.
They are worth less than full GCSEs as when you apply to colleges or unis you have to declare they are shortcourse.

🤷‍♀️ I have no idea if she’s taken from other blogs. I know she often says she’s adapted X recipe from Nigella or Jamie Oliver or whoever. I do rate the recipes they were a huge help when I was in financial difficulty.
I don't doubt that, I just think she was better at marketing other peoples recipes and becoming famous through it. Lots of her kudos I believe is misplaced

I'd go so far as to say that if she's hankering after her own TV show, then many of the TV producers and production companies of shows on mainstream channels will be so put off by her bad attitude, massive ego and constant conflict-making with others in the industry, that she'd be the last choice they'd consider. Having worked alongside other in the past who worked with production companies, it's clear for foodie shows, they want people who the public will feel familiar/ comfortable watching, has an 'inclusive' and approachable persona and behind the scenes, will get on with everyone (runners and guests on shows included). This nasty vicious attitude she has is tv-work suicide so she better get a grip and sort herself out if she wants to get far in tv.

I'm not a fan of Joe Wickes but at least he's being pro-active about getting something done (either for the public and we know he's also doing it for his own benefit to get noticed by tv producers), but Idiot Jack thinks she's too good to do Youtube by herself, and wants everything handed to her on a plate - her own show and help from a production company included.

This is the issue I have with Jack, they never follow through with anything. Remember when they were going to stand to be an MP?

I know some people find Joe Wicks annoying but at least he’s actually done something? Why can’t Jack do what Joe has done? He’s gone out and bought any professional lighting he needs and is doing it in his living room and will probably get a TV show off the back of it. What is stopping Jack from doing that in the kitchen?

Did anyone else see on the day the brexit vote was done, Jack said they spoiled their vote? This never gets mentioned any more.
And also get handouts for doing F-All

She doesn't want to actually do anything she just wants to complain.
She must be taking the piss by now. So difficult to prop your phone up and hit go live. This woman has an assistant too.

Lazy cow that always has to top people. No one works harder than jack, no one pays themselves as little as Jack, no other cooks use tins apart from jack, no one sleeps as little as Jack, no one's house is as small as Jacks (although she has an office with a sofa) and so it goes on..
With all that 'work' she's got sod all to show for it! Nothing worth my while, enjoyable or useful to watch or read.

Do the dough with half flour* and half Greek/natural yoghurt and a pinch of salt, and it’s even nicer.

*and a bit extra for rolling out.

I skimmed through it and my god he needs the team there. No more calming and re-assuring Jamie. Although I dread to think how over the place Jack would be.

Half the show was just cooking blending up greens and dairy to make a pasta sauce. Everytime I've watched parts of his show it's been pasta sauces.
I think that's all he can cope with at the moment, looks as if he is about to crack up.

Mary Berrys hand issues stem from Polio as a child but the RA probably didn't help.

Anyone else waiting for one of her followers to get food poisoning from her telling them it’s ok to eat food that is wildly out of date?!
I know - 'give it a sniff or a nibble and if it smells/tastes ok then it's fine'! Thank goodness we have an 'expert' to give us such advice. I'll give her a 'tip' via Paypal ……….......………………………………………..what is wrong with people?

Is that for me? Lol
I’ve had my account and been active longer than this thread has been here 😂. It’s just one of those things that kind of annoys me seeing people comment that someone can’t be poor cos they have tattoos when the point of tattoos is that they last forever so someone could have got them before their circumstances change.

Thing is I’m sure I read that her father held quite a high position in the local fire brigade where she worked. Surely, bearing that fact in mind, a compromise could have been reached re her working hours. Makes you wonder if there was more to it.
Oh I didn’t know that 🤔 that is odd!

So if she can’t find time for a few 5/10 minute YouTube videos how would she have time to host a tv programme! Surely she realises that she is shooting herself in the foot? if any producer goes through her Twitter they are going to dismiss her immediately.
i don't think she ever thinks before sbe tweets just wants to complain and stir up controversy

it's so strange cos she seemedso normal when i first read about her in the guardian, i dunno if she was always like this or the "fame" has gone to her head?
Yeah, i liked her too when she first appeared. She's definitely become insufferable over time.

Just scratching the surface and her pinned tweet, for example, is unbearably smug and overcompensating.

I mean, I'm going to guess that at least one of them owns that house (as she'd have plenty of complaints about any landlord she had?) so I'd assume they at the very least have building's insurance as most lenders ask for it? & at that point it's only a bit extra for contents, most people's policies are £15-20 a month? We've had to insure quite a few high ticket items under our policy and that's 'only' £37 a month which for the cover we get inside & outside the house is fucking incredible really.

I just find her portrayal of poverty so weird, I have CPTSD from growing up in poverty with MH parents and I prize financial security (insurances, reliable income, savings) and am a chronic ppl pleaser as a result, I find her really antagonistic and the complete opposite of that which makes it hard for me to believe her. I feel bad saying that but nothing adds up with her, it's so odd...
Completely agree with this post. Very similar childhood which has left me with many issues. I felt awful questioning her story initially but it really doesn’t add up.

They put her on the spot being interviewed yesterday asking what she was eating. Apparently she and her family are still eating the 1/2 Tin hoops, 1 tin chickpeas, 1 tin coconut milk, 2 carrots and 2 celery stalks that she made a couple of days ago😆. It's quite something how that meal has been stretched out to last days.

Did she get dropped from cooking there this week? Last week she was calling her slot this week iirc the interview of her life.
Not sure if she's been dropped as such but definitely the work appears to have dried up.
I always thought watching the presenters around her seemed to be humouring tbh

Exactly. He was offered a job and accepted it. Why on earth should he look around to see if there are other candidates? Frankly I would trust his recipes far more than her's anyway. Her food is, well, joyless. As Crocodile Dundee said - 'Yes you can eat it. But it tastes like shit'.
jamie Oliver’s cookbooks are the only ones that I have bought, and they have stayed in my book collection. Ministry of Food helped me so much as a student!
