You bourgeoisie guys with your superfluous tin openers and your ring-pull five-beans on toast! You’ll be the first against the wall!Similar, tenderMeeces. I don’t remember a tin opener ever breaking but I know I’ve owned more than one so I can only assume I’ve said to myself, “Oh, must remember to buy another tin opener”. No additional burden was placed on an already overstretched A&E Dept on those occasions - I would remember that.
She’s been on that one from the start though. This proto-Vimes rant from Cooking On A Bootstrap:

12 hour days only work, productively, when done as 4 on 4 off or similar. It is not possible to retain productivity for 12 hours a day to the extent it is retrained long term on shorter days.Just came across this exchange on Twitter

LOL
Guessing she was slagging off her formerly beloved Sainsbury’s?!whilst I’m here, may I ask which supermarket labels their tinned produce with font that looks like a child has scrawled it, please?
She’s the Hilaria Baldwin of Southend. Is she also going to helpfully deadname the rest of the cast of Poor Things for us - Emily Stone aka Emma Stone, perhaps, or William Defoe aka Willem Defoe, Rothaniel Carmichael aka Jerrod Carmichael? Sarah Qualley aka Margaret Qualley? Maria do Carmo Carvalho Rebelo de Andrade aka Carminho? Or just the ones with Greek ancestry? If so, will she be insisting on calling the actress who played Rachel in Friends Jennifer Anastassakis for no apparent reason too? What a div. She’s the Hilaria Baldwin of Southend.
Even Sainsbury's posh carrots are cheaper than the tinned onesNot the bleeping tinned potatoes again... now add carrots to the list of tricksy JackMaffs

Only the very fanciest carrots in Asda are more than the cost per kg of cheap tinned carrots.
There is no world where tinned potatoes are cheaper than fresh.
Tinned foods are easy to cook with if you have limited resources, but they're not cheaper for the quantity of food you get, and it's infuriating that she makes this argument. Just say they're more convenient! If someone can't afford a pound for a tin opener, they can't afford to be spending their food budget on tins that provide a fraction of the amount of food when you properly count price per kg. twit.
How dare she say that when she effectively weaponises food?If you do, it won’t help her. She’s a massive pacifist who’s not a fan of war AT ALL.

they're two words. I think it’s the German fraus that mash all the words into one, tenderSouthLads, I’m not sure this is Jack. Surely she should have put Σαςευχαριστώ as one word*

THANK YOU. It’s such a classic ‘it’s popular because everyone has been told it should be popular’, and is generally why I don’t trust recommendations these days because nobody has the ability to think critically about even the most banal tit anymore. Same with White Lotus, Line of Duty etc etc. It’s all just so tit! And I’m not even an artsy frau with particularly refined tastes, I love stupid/tit things! Just don’t sell it to me like it’s oscar-bait! I’m not the head here! *moves to the next cloud*Black doves was rit. Honestly rit. All she ever seems to do this weather is watch and review awful programmes.
Omg I only heard about the Hilaria Baldwin thing recently. It instantly reminded me of Jack. So funny. She’s the Hilaria Baldwin of Southend.
Thank(space)you for picking that up.Lads, I’m not sure this is Jack. Surely she should have put Σαςευχαριστώ as one word*

I’m laughing at the idea forum gossip comes up in GA - I’ve mentioned before my husband gets spoken about by MITHERING NINNIES on forums and never once have I had a GA tell me that Steve from Gravesend thinks he’s a large bleep (still) 😂 ETA - the doctor gave a firm and apologetic nod, the results...tattle.life

In many, if not most, supermarkets, you can buy loose carrots.Even Sainsbury's posh carrots are cheaper than the tinned ones

I appreciate that prices now are different (an index of some sort could demonstrate that I'm sure...), but back when tinned carrots were 20p, what would a Kg of fresh have been? 35p? The difference isn't enough for her to even claim the initial outlay is cheaper and so if you're poor, that's what you'd buy. If you're skint, you'll push your pennies around enough to stretch the extra 15p or whatever to have a big bag of carrots that'll last you a while. She just made up tit as she went along, but said it with such absolute confidence, that the majority of people reading believed her.
It’s always been about not tiring out her little legs on the way back from the shops.Even Sainsbury's posh carrots are cheaper than the tinned ones

Mr Mice and I often treat ourselves to a single carrot (roughly 9p) to enjoy with our Sunday lunch. If we're flush, we may even gat two and have one each.
Also you'll have saved a quid by not needing to buy a tin opener.Even Sainsbury's posh carrots are cheaper than the tinned ones

Yet her little Ernie Wise legs were able to carry a large wriggling dog for a mile. And at the time she had her crumbling shoulder so she couldn't brush her hair and mainly ate with a spoon. It’s always been about not tiring out her little legs on the way back from the shops.
