She’s been on that one from the start though. This proto-Vimes rant from Cooking On A Bootstrap:

Yeah! You bourgeoisie guys with your superfluous tin openers and your ring-pull five-beans on toast! You’ll be the first against the wall!

So we must “look carefully” at the basics and value tins in the supermarket to observe upon immediate scant glance that they can’t shan’t be opened without a tin opener, but also hack the bottoms off our tuna tins to make egg rings, adding a smattering of metal shards to our inexplicably eggy breakfast foodstuffs with gleeful abandon.

Her tin-based cautions seem to be a tad…awry.

Similar, tenderMeeces. I don’t remember a tin opener ever breaking but I know I’ve owned more than one so I can only assume I’ve said to myself, “Oh, must remember to buy another tin opener”. No additional burden was placed on an already overstretched A&E Dept on those occasions - I would remember that.

Sweet bleeping Christ, guest, it's a tin opener not a Kitchen Aid stand mixer or a Nihon X50 knife set. They cost about 2 quid. I've even seen them in charity shops for like 30 pence.

Is she going to refer to all actors by their given names and not professional names going forward?
Do you remember when she made the announcement that Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jean Baker? She genuinely thought she was revealing an unknown fact to the world.
Idiot.

Pretend to be poor, pretend to be a cook, pretend to be a campaigner, pretend to care

Rake in many tens of thousands of pounds and an ongoing patreon income

Make it make sense

She also went on a “tin openers are the best and so universal!” campaign in the run up to having a book published that solely featu-d slop concoctions slurried together out of tins and for which she was already grifting money into a personal GoFundMe to “donate” to food banks.

Also, if you don’t have a tin opener, don’t bother hacking into tins. It’s unhygienic and not worth it.

Fortunately, much like sideboards Jack has NINE tin openers (I.e. one tin opener for daily slopping and another eight backup tin openers). But then, she’s a FAMOUS COOKBOOK AUTHOR

PS: ouchies (SEVERE). 😭 Send sympathyos, and ideally also cashos.

Don't forget those hulking great norks pulled up by a industurial strength ill-fitting bra.
'Hulking great norks' 😂

If it hasn't been said already, I'd like to remind Jack that she promised to review her top books. - one per day. i think we've had 2 (or 3?) books so far.

When I was in Tesco the other day, I was done dirty by the club card offers looking like the normal prices and so didn’t realise that whatever I got wasn’t on offer until I got to the till. I brought this up to the lady working there and she said to just ask the person next to me if I could use their club card! I thought this was very clever and felt stupid for not thinking of it myself. The bloke next to me was more than happy to oblige. Jack hack, except it’s not because it was a genuinely helpful bit of advice!

Do you have to be military round the edges to use one of these? Asking for a fraud.

Oh she’s back. How’s Cooper, Jack? Some of us have been worried (not you obviously, you couldn’t give two hoots).

Did you commit to giving him his medication? Did you keep him away from Content so he could recuperate in peace? Did you get him the right food and check he was eating it? Are you monitoring his water intake? Have his eyes and nose cleared up now you’ve finally got him the (uninsured) vet treatment we kept telling you he needed?

Now get the dog groomed and clean your fish tank, you animal abusing head.

Not the bleeping tinned potatoes again... now add carrots to the list of tricksy JackMaffs

Only the very fanciest carrots in Asda are more than the cost per kg of cheap tinned carrots.
There is no world where tinned potatoes are cheaper than fresh.
Tinned foods are easy to cook with if you have limited resources, but they're not cheaper for the quantity of food you get, and it's infuriating that she makes this argument. Just say they're more convenient! If someone can't afford a pound for a tin opener, they can't afford to be spending their food budget on tins that provide a fraction of the amount of food when you properly count price per kg. twit.

She NEVER!?
Oh yeah. Not that long ago either. It was hilarious.
Nearly as funny as when she at first thought 'DCI Burnside ' was an actual polis on X then, when pointed out it wasn't a real policeman, threatened to report them for impersonating a police officer.
She really is as thick as mince.

excellent work as always, Valli. I think I’ve maybe seen this once before. I’ll not forget it in future. What a cringe.

whilst I’m here, may I ask which supermarket labels their tinned produce with font that looks like a child has scrawled it, please?

It's a good job guest clarified that, or I would have used the handle for mashing 🙄
Don't feel too down about it. After all, you aren't a professional cook with umpteen cookbooks to your name.

It's a mistake any of us humble povs could have made.

Is she also going to helpfully deadname the rest of the cast of Poor Things for us - Emily Stone aka Emma Stone, perhaps, or William Defoe aka Willem Defoe, Rothaniel Carmichael aka Jerrod Carmichael? Sarah Qualley aka Margaret Qualley? Maria do Carmo Carvalho Rebelo de Andrade aka Carminho? Or just the ones with Greek ancestry? If so, will she be insisting on calling the actress who played Rachel in Friends Jennifer Anastassakis for no apparent reason too? What a div. She’s the Hilaria Baldwin of Southend.
