Just looking at the video now. Assuming there is more to it as I don’t see why the staff member could be arsed taking the vouchers and then not giving the groceries unless I am missing something
I think there must be more to it. What does ‘you undermined me at the till’ mean? All I can assume is that she gave her the vouchers (£30), then she didn’t have enough to pay for the balance of her shopping so she started faffing around doing bank transfers, customers waiting in the queue complained, the woman on the till said ‘you’re always doing this‘ and she kicked off.

Woman on till did look like she'd seen it before. Wasn't having any of it.

Just seen an advert for I'm a Celebrity. PLEASE let Jack be on it 🙏🙏🙏
That would be the only series where the entire cast (bar Jack) stood as one and shouted "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here!" on day one.
Followed by a class action due to mass PTSD, olfactory, hearing and gastrointestinal damage.

Why are people so beggy. I am not rich not by a long stretch. I have two part time jobs to fit around my children and i earn minimum wage. Every month my wage comes in and it gets sorted, bills, food, and fun stuff. The fun stuff is normally a day out somewhere, nothing to flashy and we dont do that every month. I nor

mally try to save about 20 pounds of the fun stuff money and go somewhere in the holidays. My kids clothes, haircuts and as well as my own comes out of this budget too, so i even have to budget the budget i have for this. I dont however beg online or anywhere for extra cash, if we cant afford it, we don't have it.

Exactly. I’m poor as in don’t own an house, don’t have a lot spare each month after bills and don’t have loads of sideboards but I am grateful for what we do have. I do Park Christmas each year so I can treat my kids, save up for birthday stuff…we don’t have holidays. I have only been to France and the last time I did that was 25 years ago…But that’s how it is 🤷‍♀️

As long as we have good food on the table ( luckily I can cook ) and have a laugh with each other then that’s how we like it. We don’t need all this stuff.

Why do people think begging online for absolutely everything like this is ok now?? Jack laid the groundwork for this plethora of bleeps. She seems to be “Patient Zero” on this grift tit, along with the Guardian et al who bleeping enabled it as well. duck you all 🖕🏻

Online begs aren't usually for sideboards though (even if they secretly are), they're mostly something their online audience will agree they need like medical treatment, vet treatment, rent money, mobility aids, school uniforms, that sort of thing. As a soft-hearted fool (🍉) I'm probably too credulous about online fundraisers but I think a lot of them genuinely are someone with a pressing need who can't get the money elsewhere so they go online and cross their fingers. Even I get suspicious though if they keep having emergencies at regular intervals and I think there are some (JM for a start) who have tried it when they really needed the money, found that it worked and then just repeated the trick but this time the story was made up. I think if you're donating online you need to ask yourself if you'd be okay with them spending it on drugs and accept that there's a chance they might, so in that way it's not too different to giving money to a begger on the streets.

This is true. I suppose I don’t have much skin in the game if I’m being honest though because I can’t afford regular donations to anything. But I do donate cat food to a local cat shelter occasionally when I can, and we do a reverse advent Calendar in December but I don’t pay into GFM / JG similar.

I just hate the thought of people like my mum, on a state pension, or someone on paltry disability allowance, giving what little they have to people who are quite frankly lying and taking the piss :( I’m glad my mum is a technophobe and stays off the internet!

Yes, if you've got a cause that agrees with people's priors ("evil Tories" in Jack's case, or "this woke nonsense has gone Too Far" in the recent police case), then any fundraiser is a licence to print money because people leave their critical thinking skills behind.

Edit: if it's this case, it's not about two police officers who shot a child, it's about two police officers who were fired for gross misconduct after a stop and search
BBC News - Anger over fundraiser for sacked Met officers https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-67236220
Police in London got mad skills for being able to smell weed on black people you know. Since they got bodyworn cameras they just can’t stop picking up on suspect clues which can’t be filmed.

on topic, if Jack ever gets arrested please can the bizzy comment on what they smell T(S)YIA x

Grunking catch up so might have already been replied to: How can you tell it's her personal account though? If it's cos it's got her name on it: mine is a biz account and it has my real name as the payment address (ie: paypalme/janesmith). Also as long is the account is verified, there's no limits to Jo receiving, even if it is a personal account. I would have thought she verified years ago.
There are no limits to receiving but if she got loads of random chucked in amounts totting up to £20k in a few hours, I’d expect PayPal to lock it while they investigate. She admitted IIRC that it was her personal account too.

I know she tweeted asking for donations to said PayPal for this and I am sure way more people chucked in than should have, I just don’t think it would have been £20k levels (unless she got v luckily with a loaded squig) and I seriously doubt she got much after the first rush passed and there was no concrete update even though she dragged it on for a year.

My point was that raising money through an actual site gives funding a legitimacy than “chuck some money in my PayPal and if my lawyer takes it on for free then I’ll donate it.” She could still gunk money through most of them in reality but it looks more legitimate for the people of the hellsite.

I think the passing viewers seeing her tweets may well have been inclined to a) wait and see if her lawyer did take it on for free like she seemed so sure he would (and there was no major time pressure in the way there is with a “my kids are starving now/my cat needs treatment now”) and b) wait and see if an actual crowdfunder appeared. Neither happened and while we didn’t forget about it, I bet half the squigs did very quickly.

ETA: and Jack is a gob who was convinced she was right and ML doesn’t seem much better. I bet if she’d had £20k+ he’d have shoved her in the direction of another lawyer who would have happily taken it and let her make an a of herself trying to sue Lee.

I always like what the Aussie comic Steve Hughes says about giving money to beggars: “When people say why do you do that, they’ll only spend it on drink or drugs? So what? That’s what I was going to spend it on anyway.”
Exactly! It's not for you (us)to decide what it's spent on.
One night while I was in Milton Keynes for work, I stopped to talk to a young lad sitting on th
e pavement and obviously shivering. It was a bitterly cold night, he wasn't dressed warm enough. I opened my wallet, and all I had was a 20 pounds note (keep in mind I was going back to my fancy hotel, dinner prepaid etc).
Gave the note to him - he jumped up, hugged me and started crying. I just told him to get back to his tent to get out of the cold.
I am not looking for head pats or validation - I will help if I can because it could be me, my mother, my brother, my sister, my friend.
However, I do understand that some of us are utterly fed up with the grifting and swanky and that's right too. There are so many people gaming the system out there it's unreal.
And that is also why people who abuse the goodwill of others like JM should be put in stocks for all to see.
Very sorry about the length, my phone won't let me spoiler it.

In brief...
The customer is well known to staff. She regularly shops in that branch of Aldi and is abusive to staff.
In this instance she was being served by a member of staff she has previously abused.
The shopping was run through the till and the customer gave over the (I believe electronic) codes from her Child vouchers.
This basically means £20 was deducted from the total on the till.
Instead of just paying the remaining bill the customer then decided to start doing some Internet banking on her phone, causing other people in the queue to start telling her to hurry up.
The customer then starts an argument with them and the checkout operator asks her to pay the balance and leave.
Customer then starts to shout and cause a scene, which she has previously done in store.
Because the customer is threatening, abusive and swearing the checkout operator (according to store policy) shuts down the till and tells customer to leave.
Customer starts demanding £20 in cash from the till in compensation.
The rest is when the video starts.
All of the other customers, staff and the police are backing up the staff member. This is grifting at a whole new level. She's just vile.

Poor checkout worker on NMW getting screamed at by that sorry state.

I wonder if Jack has ever screamed at someone? Urrgh be like the hounds of Beealzebub. Just like her singing.

One of the many things that annoys me about this is how it's quite obvious from the clip shared that we are not getting the full story. It makes no sense.

Yet people are still 'let me give you some cash'. Why? Where is the critical or indeed any thinking?

Because people are kind. Deluded and confused but ultimately kind.
Covid really did a number on the general public. Pretty much everyone was out to help everyone else from March2020 till about a year ago. So very many people needed help and it sort of woke up this hidden kindness in people.
Because most of us were in the tit we started to empathise with people who were asking for help.
That's why Jack Monroe could get away with begging for money when her fiance was on £250k a year. People just automatically tried to help.
I've posted on Tattle before about my melt down over dog food on Twitter during covid.
I am ECV and spent 12 weeks inside my house during 2020. Not going out. I have a husband and family so I wasn't alone but it was still isolating. Supermarket delivery gave me substitute dog food brand that would have made my poor baby poo rivers of diarrhoea. I went on a rant on Twitter and the result was hundreds of people offering to donate food.
Obviously I declined and made it clear I was fine. It just made it apparent to me that people were so willing to help.
Unfortunately there are some out there that will scam people and abuse good will.
