See also “SLEEPING ROUGH in a car park” from an exhibition by the same morally repugnant attention seeking artist. View attachment 2535718View attachment 2535729View attachment 2535735Sooo frikkin cute the pic’s there twice, and soooo kind of her brand new full time THE NEWSPAPER job (end feb) to give her this self-publicity
I'd love to tell her about the time my Harold and I were homeless for 5 months. He ended up sleeping in the garage he was working in and caught pneumonia, was in ICU and nearly died.
That's one of the many stories I have of being an actual person without a home, I nearly lost my husband of 20 years because of an overcrowded rental market.
Stick your beanie up your stupid arse, Jack. You haven't the foggiest what it's like.

Hi all - apologies for the delay/missing last month, life ey! Behind a cut as always:

Firstly: would like to confirm that the Patreon tracker project has always taken the value for paying subscribers + always will, and have updated the opening subs column title to reflect this. No excuses 4 u Jacqui!

Patreon have made some fairly sizeable changes to their offering and appear to be transitioning into more of a social networking type proposition? So you can follow your favourite creators without paying as well as the old model which was just paid subscriptions, I think the idea of this being those creators can provide some freebies to try and convert followers into paying subs. This will benefit creators (who bother lol) because it's so much easier to upgrade someone in platform than to move people from Twitter/Insta/mailing lists -> Patreon, so I do suspect there will be an associated increase in platform fees at some point to reflect this value add lol - if anyone has any tea on that pls do share. BUT there is a very clear distinction between the two user counts (#noexcuses).

This + other changes to Patreon's T&Cs were communicated to members in an email 05/10/2023 (I say as a paying Patreon customer - not for Jack's scam, for actual content creators). I'm going to guess that this is why we've seen increased churn of -5.7% (the highest since June 2023 where we saw -6.1% MoM). Now onto the scam of a century highlights:

Jack Monroe had 333 paying Patreon subscribers as of November 2023, taking home an estimated £4.1k from the grift. This is +40% higher than the pre-Nigella follower count of 244, and is the 22nd month of benefitting from the platform Nigella gave the grift. Although we are finally under the since-records-began subscriber count of 346, but as you can see from that... it took 12 months to go from 346 -> 244 subscribers, so the grift really will be going on for years and years and years.

I'm a member of a couple of sober living/sober curious type groups on fb. At the start of October a guy showed up in one of these groups, posting about his intent to do sober October. What followed after were daily (multiple) long posts from him, always with selfies, often with pictures of his kids and wife. We know the wife and kids' names and in-between these showy, insta-ready posts of him and his family, he'd also post complaining about his wife, about finding it hard when she'd wanted an alcoholic drink for example, framing her as a bit of an unsupportive villain and seeking sympathy from the group. I then realised he was also in the other group I was in, making all the exact same posts, and lapping up the attention he got in each group. It has got to the point now where his posts have been dominating the groups, and anyone that dare raise an eyebrow (at the massive obvious fucking narc red flags) and call him out on anything, is swiftly jumped on by a large majority of the group, accused of bullying and told to 'be kind' etc etc.

A couple of very brave and astute members have spoken out and told him they see straight through him. After the increase in dissenting comments, today we get vague posts with hospital selfies. His caption on the first one was just 'pray for me' 🙄. Again, anyone that dare be anti about this man are called all sorts, and damned for picking on him particularly 'when he's ill'.

It has caused such disruption to these groups which have many vulnerable members seeking support. So many arguments and huge division. I found out today from another member he's actually posting in at least 4 different sobriety groups, a captive audience in each.

Anyway, I’ve been watching all this unfold over the last month, watching the penny slowly drop for (some) people, as he got more and more attention seeking. Watching the band of defenders round on anyone speaking against him. His passive aggressive faux-pleasant replies to criticism. The way he's been able to manipulate the majority of people. The similarities between him and Jack are huge, and it's really given me a lot of time to ponder how she must be in addiction support groups, and how much disruption she causes in them. I bet she's bloody awful and ends up gaslighting anyone that doesn't dance to her tune, framing them as the bad guy and pushing them out. Just as this person has done. These people are so fucking malignant.

I wish I could point you lads to the groups and his posts, as you'd clock the flags straight away! If anyone here is in either of the groups I am though, you'll know exactly who I'm talking about, can't have missed him for the last month 😂.

How Jack's pre christmas relaunch went, in a poem

The grift before Christmas

Twas the grift before Christmas, when all through the bungahouse
Not a creature was stirring, not even a brambly mouse;
The clutter were hung by the chimney without care,
In hopes that a new sideboard would be there;
The sb was nestled all snug in their bed;
While visions of sugar-slops danced in their head;
And mammapapa in her 'kerchief, and in her pigskin cap,
Had just settled her brain for a long Dino nap,
When out of the airfryer there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the kitchen I flew like a flash,
Tore open the drawers and opened the trash.
The moon on the ashes of the sausage risotto,
Gave a lustre of gloom and grease to the sorry kitchen grotto
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a distressed agent, pr firm and eight ragey old-dears
With discourse from tattle and x so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment Jack must be in the internet Nick.
More rapid than eagles, a bird in trousers, Jack came,
And jack honked, and shouted, and called the grifts out by name:
"Now, currys! now, del monte! now hellmans and dklive!
On, patreon! on, x! on thrifty kitchen, Facebook and vbi
To the top of the tattle threads! to the top of the customer service wall!
Tattle spoiled it for me, dash away! dash away all!"

Just for clarity (if I've read this right):
Sarah Jay, kids need shopping, 3k followers, 1 day, £700
Jack Monroe, Sue Lee, 540k followers, 1 year, £1500
Okay.

So... I'm Jewish. I'm a Londoner. The last few weeks have been really, really fucking horrible for many reasons, and i haven't posted on here (and have barely grunked any threads).

I have briefly emerged from my silence just to post my updated and be-hatted avatar for the sake of this thread.

(For those who don't know, it's Tom Courtenay in the title role of Billy Liar.)

A) her slow cooker bread is the only jack recipe I ever made and it didn't work
B) it takes quite a while to make a loaf in a slow cooker, how many slow cookers does she have that she's made 6 loaves as gifts?
C) or she made these over several days and pretended she made them all at once
D) or she's lying about making them in the first place
She has many, many slow cookers. Here’s her triple one, beautifully displayed perched jauntily atop her £849 Westcote inky blue XL Cotswold sideboard, next to her £1,299 Westcote cream large Cotswold double larder and behind her £1,099 Oakland rustic oak 8-12 seater extending Cotswold dining table.
IMG_7227.jpeg
Sometimes when it wants to get away from the slow cooker slop, the £1,099 dining table lives in here with her 3 MASSIVE £1,000+ Cotswold dressers and her £525 Oakland rustic oak Cotswold storage bench instead.
IMG_7228.jpeg

That way, it never has to see her clambering onto the £599 Chester dove grey Cotswold sideboard in her knickies while its £699 counterpart looks on in horror from the background.
IMG_7229.jpeg
Or suffer the indignity of watching her have a shit like the £369 Chester dove grey Cotswold open shoe storage bench in the bogger
IMG_7231.jpeg
Or watch her romp with Burger Boy like the poor £249 Chester cream Cotswold tallboy in the bedroom
IMG_7233.jpeg

Or being used to store tatty old wallpaper like the Chester £499 Cotswold wine console that’s sometimes opposite the massive American fridge and sometimes upstairs jammed to the gills with tat in her “craft/reading nook”
IMG_7230.jpeg

Or store her manky old sofa bed-nest sheets like the £499 Westcote inky blue Cotswold console table
IMG_7232.jpeg
OR (biggest indignity of ALL) be stuffed with books of Jack’s shit poetry and “songs” and have her sitting at you to write all her fucking inane musings, like the poor £800+ Chester cream writing bureau.

The woman in the video was probably a rage nan at one point. She’s totally Jack’s intended reader: Not poor, no experience of being on the bones of her arse, white, middle England, average.

Jack pretends these books and recipes are the saviour of those using foodbanks, but as the video and the Slopalong showed: the recipes are not tested, don’t work, are tasteless and are often more expensive than a tried and tested meal you make regularly; because your only options are either to bin it or add more ingredients to make it edible.

this brown misery-slop didn’t start out as a cheap recipe with the wine and beef. Imagine that was all you had? Imagine you didn’t have the luxury of nipping out to the shops for fresh courgette, mushrooms and whatever else she put in there? Imagine you didn’t have rice to eat along with it?

in a way it’s funny to watch someone else give an honest appraisal of her food whilst cooking one of her meals, but once you think about it, it’s sad and incredibly insulting that Jack and her publishers think this is good enough for people living in poverty. Shame on her and shame on them.

The only reason I can think of that would keep her off SM for this long is that she is finally being investigated. Be that by HMRC, Charity Commission, or even the police for fraud (or crimes against food and fashion.)

I have a friend who occasionally asks me for a loan of cash... She rarely pays me back, and I don't ask for it, because I know she's skint.

I found out from a mutual friend that the skint one and her boyfriend basically sit down with a list of friends every night, and work their way through it, asking for money.

I've just got round to reading the link posted in the last thread, thank you to the person who posted it - an article entitled "Are cynical social media influencers exploiting the backlash against online abuse to deflect scrutiny?"

Relevant paragraph:
"One thread was about an activist who makes their living through media appearances, self-branding as representative of the poor. They do indeed seem to have suffered terrible temporary hardship some years ago, but their own extensive social media output reveals a level of comfort and house filled with fancy belongings that I couldn’t stretch to.

Followers frequently offer money to help out, despite struggling to get by themselves in some instances. But the problem is, questioning someone on their lifestyle fuels the old harmful stereotype about benefits and flatscreen TV. Do some influencers profit from taking up identities that are too awkward to question?"

It's good to know that at least one journalist has read here, and appreciated what we are doing, and why. But oh I wish there would be a series about Jack and similar people in the mainstream media - this threads archivists have already done the work for them!

Just looking at the video now. Assuming there is more to it as I don’t see why the staff member could be arsed taking the vouchers and then not giving the groceries unless I am missing something
In brief...
The customer is well known to staff. She regularly shops in that branch of Aldi and is abusive to staff.
In this instance she was being served by a member of staff she has previously abused.
The shopping was run through the till and the customer gave over the (I believe electronic) codes from her Child vouchers.
This basically means £20 was deducted from the total on the till.
Instead of just paying the remaining bill the customer then decided to start doing some Internet banking on her phone, causing other people in the queue to start telling her to hurry up.
The customer then starts an argument with them and the checkout operator asks her to pay the balance and leave.
Customer then starts to shout and cause a scene, which she has previously done in store.
Because the customer is threatening, abusive and swearing the checkout operator (according to store policy) shuts down the till and tells customer to leave.
Customer starts demanding £20 in cash from the till in compensation.
The rest is when the video starts.
All of the other customers, staff and the police are backing up the staff member. This is grifting at a whole new level. She's just vile.

What an absolutely bizarre thing to ask for! (Also, sorry your boyfriend is a simpleton, hun). Trying to flush her out with weird flavour combinations is a new flex...

Hey Guest - I was thinking you could make sardine porridge? Bf says it can't be done!
My husband reckons Jack can’t close her Patreon and get a job. Prove him wrong!

Hold up. The ”recipe” says…

View attachment 2536492

Scrape out the flesh, mash and return to ‘it’s earthy shell’ (btw fuck off Guset, you’re not Mom and never will be)

Anyway, the picture looks suspiciously (i.e. definitely) like a beetroot that’s just been quartered in the bowl and the topping added? So which is it? 🤷‍♂️

View attachment 2536491
My guess is she wrote the "recipe" first and then when she tried to make it (for the photo obvs, not out of any culinary curiosity) she found out that beetroot does not have the texture of potato and abandoned her own recipe.

I know it's not an airport
No, these threads are not an airport; they are more like a friend's house where you go for a chat.

You wouldn't just leave a friend's home without saying you are going, and have them worrying if you are all right. I think it is more than OK to announce your departure from a tattle thread, especially this one.

And not to leave the men out...
