I actually think there’s something rather disordered in her behaviour here. She’s kind of fetishising the weekly shop and all the palaver around it. The photo before she sets out, the list of all the “equipment” she needs for said shop, the photos of her haul, and the endless explanations plus detailed written notes. It’s just all too much. It doesn’t need to be this complicated and it’s pretty unhealthy that she makes it so. And she gets all gleeful and giddy about it too, which is a sign things are not quite right.THE PROCESS. Jack, you've done a shop like we all do, you're not painting the Sistine Chapel. Grow up.

For most of us, it’s just a mundane weekly task. We make a quick list, tot things up as we go along, buy our stuff, go home. It really shouldn’t take hours and hours. People in the real world, with real jobs and/or family responsibilities, just DON’T HAVE TIME for this crap.
