oh my god…why the actual duck does soffritto need to be brightened up? It’s a base! It’s the one time it would make sense for Jack to use the word base and of course she doesn’t. Why has this triggered me so much

Is there a name for someone who writes with great conviction yet has none? I imagine that German would have something polysyllabic and delicious.

Jack's rearranged that bedroom and decor more in the last 18 months that I've done mine in almost 20 years. I'm beginning to think I'm doing adulting all wrong. Who has that amount of time on their hands when they've a child? Or a job? Or a life?

Yes of course it does. Equally, so does half milk, half water, flour, butter/Marge/oil and cheese rinds in a blender.

ETA:
For less confident cooks:

Chop and weigh it.

Add 1.5x volume of liquid to weight of cheese eg for 100g cheese, add 150ml milk/water. (To work this out for odd amounts just go to the calculator on your phone and type in your cheese weight, and multiply it by 1.5)

Simple.
