On a grunk so dont know where this will land but, I had so much sympathy for Jack as an anxious Frau myself, I totally understand how vulnerable and exposed anxiety can make you feel. UNTIL... I saw the first full 50 seconds was the camera being adjusted. No. Sorry. If you're nervous about something like a video recording, set the camera up and practice standing in front of it/entering the scene/positioning yourself etc beforehand. Not only does reduce time viewers spend cringing and waiting, but it's also one more thing to be confident won't go wrong. That's just basic Filming Stuff 101 surely. It's pure laziness, sorry. I wanted to sympathise but I can't.
I remember being nervous about school exams. So I studied.

Pure laziness that she didn't have the recipe plus the vegan version up on her site as soon as the live ended, or even better, prior to the live so people could read it and see it demonstrated. You can have that one for free Del Monte / Jack.

Does she not understand how this tit works?

Also she was running a poll on facebook for Del Monte, but didn't mention the instagram live there at all. Her facebook followers are as fawning as her twitter followers so I feel she really cheated them out of the chance to see her cook live.

She thinks she got the Del Monte gig because of her skills and personality rather than her huge following. Yet she is not utilising her huge following to benefit her brand partner.

Fully expect her to half ass it, but I am surprised that Del Monte are content to go along with this chaotic tit show approach. Maybe try being a bit more strategic to actually benefit from this partnership? Think of your penultimate forever home Jack!

I keep saying this but someone needs to have a word.

On the pet names - where I come from a relationship for a girl was not official until you were referred to as ‘wor lass’

However, I married someone not from there - so I have a deep existential angst without this affirmation.

Do we have anyone on these threads that work with brands and/or marketing? Would genuinely love the insight into what goes into choosing someone for a campaign and also what happens when it's a flop!! I presume Del Monte don't speak to Hellmans.

Do you thank that her 'friends' that supply her pringles might have assisted with the lines from nose to mouth? And that is why she cancelled the day before? 🤔

Surely it's a tad offensive, you know, to put on a forced accent? Jack is so clueless.
Accents in the U.K. all seem to be fair game, the amount of times I’ve had people parrot back at me 🙄😒 Jacks accent is English through and through, so any NI afflictions she uses are definitely for show! I wonder does she ever mimic her Cypriot family’s accents?

Zoom in on the pics, honestly don't want to say on here, could be way off anyway, and if I am right I would play into her hands.
Apologies if late to this party, do you mean the pic of Jack with Jack’s Mammy in a wedding dress from NI immigrant Mammy and Cypriot Greek βαρώ English born son Papa’s wedding renewal vow ceremony?

ETA Ah no it’s not, that one is still safe in the kitchen filming corner I guess

this all day. "ooh, you're from newcastle! y'alreet bonny lass!" 🙄

having said that, my voice inadvertently changes depending on where I am. like, I get much more broad when I'm back in the real north and there was a memorable incident when I was staying near liverpool and for some reason, I uttered "that's disgusting!" in a proper broad scouse accent! 🤣

on topic, Jack's a twit

I don't know why she's so desperate to be northern Irish?

What's wrong with being English?

We are hardly exotic creatures are we?!

Karate, ballet and I assume piano (although only one handed).
How incredibly working class of her 🙄.
I have to say I’d be quite interested to hear her and Grace Dent comparing their working class backgrounds. Because Grace was very definitely working class and well Jack’s WASN’T...

Oh god sorry for essay,
I don’t get involved in post campaign analysis anymore thankfully but the results I’ve seen (across jobs, agency side and client side, blah blah blah) are largely abysmal. The thing is marketing budgets are huge, so things like this are a tiny 0.000001% of budget so it’s not a big deal to them. They’ll have KPIs like cost per acquisition / view or reach etc but in my experience those tend to be set so low so there’s a good news story to communicate to the higher ups that it’s just meaningless work? Worst case they’ll see it as a cost for content creation (Hellman’s couldn’t even use her tit as ad creative though remember how they struggled) or a branding exercise / awareness campaign. Things move so quickly in marketing departments that people don’t tend to really look back on this sort of activity, plus the UK Del Monte team is small and relatively junior too. Brands do talk to each other but again, Del Monte don’t have a central city office so it’s not like Jane from DM moved to Unilever so can discuss? Whereas in media or tech or fashion etc people tend to stay within those circles and word gets around, like how she’s been written off for TV.

The only two brands I’ve worked for/with (agency side) that have wanted due diligence (so a proper deep dive into engagement and legitimacy of following etc etc) doing on content partners were 2 x banks & a food brand who paid 6 figures for an agency to do it. I was approached about a role at one of the big influencer agencies in late 2018 and the purpose of it was for them to *introduce* data into their roster’s pitch decks which just goes to show what an absolute grift the whole thing is with brands handing over tens of thousands of pounds off the basis of a deck that just has some lovely pics and an origins story...

There is definitely a new injectible nose job thingy you can get, wouldn't be surprised there. Drinking also makes the face and nose swell. Who ~nose~?

They were expensive trips to Devon. Average fuel economy of 15-20mpg when brand new, about 270 miles to get there. 13 and a half gallons of four star if there was no traffic and they kept to the most fuel efficient speeds.

Incidentally, I wonder where tear trough fillers go? And what happens if somebody meets with an accident shortly after having them and perhaps a bridge filler?

Wow THANK YOU for that - it's so interesting to hear what goes behind the scenes. Being a layman, I presumed hiring someone like Jack would be a major embarrassment for a brand but sounds like it's just a piss in the ocean for them. And again, not knowing anything, I would presume that there would be a 'lessons learned' element of any campaign about what worked well and what didn't. Sounds like............ I chose the wrong career path.
