I’d just keep emailing the customer service team, I’m also sure under consumer law if a product doesn’t live up to the description you’re entitled to a refund, I’d just double check this and quote the legislation back to them, it’s an utter farceI'm pleased he's doing well. Can I get the money for my planner back then?
You're probably right. I could just keep it as my 2nd planner, I really do like the layout. But I'm not pulling it out in front of people. It's an embarrassment for the cost.I’d just keep emailing the customer service team, I’m also sure under consumer law if a product doesn’t live up to the description you’re entitled to a refund, I’d just double check this and quote the legislation back to them, it’s an utter farce
Just a casual £415. Don't mind if I do...Has anyone seen his Instagram recently? He just bought himself an off white fanny pack. I guess the money from his « book » and planners came quickly into the bank
Yep exactly, the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Get ready to screenshot this paragraph about it here: https://www.businesscompanion.info/en/quick-guides/goods/the-sale-and-supply-of-goodsI’d just keep emailing the customer service team, I’m also sure under consumer law if a product doesn’t live up to the description you’re entitled to a refund, I’d just double check this and quote the legislation back to them, it’s an utter farce
Maybe I‘m just getting old and don’t get the style but I think it looks hideous.Just a casual £415. Don't mind if I do...
In a lot of ways I'm very similar to Jack - I'm the same age, took my A Levels at the same time, went to uni at the same time, graduated at the same time. I come from a middle-class family and went to an all-girls grammar school and while I'm not 1st gen my mum only went to university because it was free to do nursing at the time. That's the reason I used to watch him, I thought watching people the same age as me navigate the same things in life was pretty cool, but I find him completely insufferable these days. Studytubers all have such a weird and unhealthy attitude to success and benefit so much from their upbringings and capitalism but none of them ever want to actually admit it. The amount of value they all place on Russell Group universities is ridiculous, when I went to MMU and had a great time and great education there and am returning in September because of how much I loved it. I just think their attitudes stink a lot of the time. They go on about inequality and disparity and voting Labour on their socials but it's entirely performative because they're the ones who benefit from the shitty system we live in the most. Especially Jack, with his pushing that he's 1st gen, and how quirky he is for drinking Strongbow out of a mug, it just reminds me of all the freshers in Manchester who pretend they're lower class when they're really not. Goes back to the whole classy when you're rich but trashy when you're poor thing.
I think studytubers in general also seriously romanticise burning yourself out and pulling all-nighters and just promote a really unhealthy lifestyle at university. It doesn't need to be like that and they need to stop pushing this "if you're not spending 24 hours in the library you're not successful" crap.
He got rejected from Oxford and very likely didn't apply anywhere else so he's stuck for now.something I dont understand, why is he living in London? aside from free accommodation. I thought he wanted to do a masters? and at Oxford?
Oh yeah I knew about Oxford, but hadnt he agreed to London before he knew about Oxford? seems odd to be living in London in student accommodation when you're not a student. Most graduates I know want to move forward not back.He got rejected from Oxford and very likely didn't apply anywhere else so he's stuck for now.
He's in London purely for the free accommodation and experience by the sound of it.
Ah sorry!Oh yeah I knew about Oxford, but hadnt he agreed to London before he knew about Oxford? seems odd to be living in London in student accommodation when you're not a student. Most graduates I know want to move forward not back.
If he really wasnt interested in a post graduate aside Oxford that possibly showed in his application too. A passion for study is crucial
By the sounds of it, it was an internship or something. Whatever, not interested. The amount of people who've lost their jobs of late. Stop whining and do something else.He just posted on instagram stories, so whatever plans he had for his gap year just got cancelled. He looked very upset about it, what exactly were his plans does anyone know?
He looked SHOOK in that instastory and in the second half a little emotional. It was probably a punch in the stomach but 1. Money is clearly not an issue and 2. He’s an established influencer, his team will surely find him something.By the sounds of it, it was an internship or something. Whatever, not interested. Yeah I’m wondering about the Oxford thing too, I mean if they haven’t accepted him twice then he surely has to do something drastically different to improve his chances this time? Though I’m from Ireland so I’m not as familiar with how Oxford works. He looked SHOOK in that instastory and in the second half a little emotional. It was probably a punch in the stomach but 1. I’d be interested to know what he is doing to prepare for his application for his MA. What is he going to do to make his application stand out? Clearly his book/influencer status/degree wasn’t hitting the right spot with Oxford.
Previous rejections are taken into account during the process, now he has two I very much doubt they will take him on.Yeah I’m wondering about the Oxford thing too, I mean if they haven’t accepted him twice then he surely has to do something drastically different to improve his chances this time? Surely he should just apply to another university to do his Masters at this stage? I’m half worried for his mental health, he seems really fixated on getting into Oxford and I’d say the studytube’s general obsession with Oxford is fuelling alot of it. He’d be much better off if he just did his Masters somewhere else surely.
