Yeah that’s why I was so surprised, I expected him to move somewhere a bit more different from the UK. But if his goal is to learn/improve his French then he’s at the right place I guess - I would’ve advised him to move to another city than Paris but that’s just my personal opinion haha.He made out he was going so faaaar away, it's literally so easy to get to London from Paris on the train
I'm sure Paris is the last place you go to improve your French - I agree us Brits are not the most popular people here right nowYeah that’s why I was so surprised, I expected him to move somewhere a bit more different from the UK. Good luck to him because French are not very keen of Brits at the moment
The bureaucracy to get to France was so frustrating, they just don't even recognise their privilege swanning aroundThere are plenty of reasons to move to Paris, but it utterly feels like he's doing it for the aesthetic. I'm a British student in another EU country, and this is kinda infuriating. It was such a pain and a privilege to move here because of Brexit and Covid, whilst Jack and Unjaded Jade treat EU-living like an aesthetic almost.
If you're moving for books, too, I'd personally go to Portugal.
Truly. I live in a Scandinavian country. It isn't as bad as France paperwork-wise, but the cost of tuition, applying for residency, buying an ID card as my UK one is no longer valid, etc etc. It was emotionally exhausting. I love it here, but to see people supposedly do it so easily really grinds my gears—how come I have to prove I can contribute to my host country's economy in the future, but Jade and Jack seem to swan about for no real reason... It's unlikely Jack's working for a French company.I'm sure Paris is the last place you go to improve your French - I agree us Brits are not the most popular people here right now

Honestly. The cost of my visa application, then validating my visa so I'm a proper resident, and just getting everything sorted over here has been so much stress. Like you, I love living abroad but like damn it was so much paperwork. I'm not sure Paris is going to be all Jack thinks it is.Truly. I live in a Scandinavian country. I have family who have lived in France for 13 years. The levels of hoop jumping they have to deal with just to prove that is astonishing. It just mugs me off.
Most people in Paris speak English - it's also got a bit of a reputation for people speaking English when you try to speak French to them. Definitely waiting for the Paris syndromeWatch him get Paris syndrom in a few weeks
I can’t really tell how good Paris is to learn French because I’ve never lived there, but I hope he at least travels a bit around the country while he’s here.
I mean… someone should tell him there is a French version and the season started recently so he can easily catch up.Best part of this tweet is that apparently he did an ad for a VPN very recently LOL
Damon commented on Jack’s reel welcoming him to Paris!he probs asked his friend to tweet about Shanghai to throw us off
also, why do I feel like Jack is trying to emulate Damon Dominique
literally my first thoughtalso, why do I feel like Jack is trying to emulate Damon Dominique
I'm assuming he could do the same thing damon is doing and apply for that "talent visa" thing because he is a youtuber (sorry, no idea what it's actually called) and just do youtube? If he was studying/doing a masters there, I'm sure he would have said so already (unless he's only looking to start a degree there next year and moved now to practice the language?)Is he even trying to learn French? I literally despair - I wonder what he's planning on doing - unless he's studying or got a work permit, he can only stay for 3 months because of Brexit.
I can't believe "YouTuber" qualifies for the talent visa, when I know so many amazing academics that just can't come over here because of the visa thing. I wonder if he's doing a master's programme taught in English over here?literally my first thought
