Making Toilets/refuges etc into a safe space for 'CIS' & transgender people I feel is quite important.I truly appreciate that you seem to have a very strong desire to see the good in people, but this part of your post is incorrect.
Yes, rapists will find a way to rape, regardless. However, Self ID makes it easier, and already dangerous, predatory men are taking advantage of this. It’s making it easier for them - it’s essentially just removing one more barrier for them.
I agree that you don’t tend to see genitals in the ladies loos. But it’s not just toilets - women-only hospital wards, domestic abuse refuges, changing rooms, women’s prisons. Those are areas where you may well see genitals, and they also have a large proportion of vulnerable women.
Again, it’s not bigotry to be concerned that predatory men may co-opt a trans persona to gain easier access to women, or to believe that some transpeople may be dangerous - this is already well documented, and examples have been given on the thread.
i think it’s been acknowledged for a number of years some of the undercurrents of misogyny (see: “fish” as being a compliment of being womanly) and indeed racism of RPDR. But also RPDR is well known for excluding trans women from participating. I definitely think there’s a huge problem with in particular some white gay men and misogyny; but it’s fair to say that misogyny tends to exclude trans women also.Something else has been bugging me lately too - I’d welcome others’ thoughts.
I’ve watched most seasons of Drag Race and laughed along, but there’s something that sits uncomfortably with me. Men taking the ‘glamour’ of being a woman and caricaturing - often incredibly stereotypically. They make serious money off it while all the tough bits of being female are ignored (periods/pregancy etc)...
I bet you think all trans people are in all your bathrooms abusing kids and raping people don't you? Please tell me what is 'womanhood' means?
And yes I will fight for my space to be safe regardless of whether it is 1% or fucking 99% of men encroaching on it!
So I am spouting hate for protecting women?
Popular opinion just like the votes from Trump/Tories doesn't make it the morally right opinionI'd disagree and say hers IS the popular opinion, just not on the cesspit that is Twitter.
I really wish I was articulate enough to give a TLDR version! But sadly, I'm far from it!Not yet but will head there next. Wanted to see if the key arguments on each side were on here first.
Thanks for that. Like I said I didn't know enough on it but I understand more nowSure, she can think a certain way, but if she’s creating a hostile environment at work because of her refusal to refer to someone with their preferred pronoun, and it’s against company policy, then the company ultimately have the right to choose not to renew your contract. This is what the judge said:
"It is a core component of her belief that she will refer to a person by the sex she considered appropriate even if it violates their dignity and/or creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment," he continued.
So I personally don’t see how somebody can stand with Maya and also have support for the trans community, which JK claims to do. She was deliberately misgendering people and it just seems very cruel.
The fact you call them 'violent men dressing up as Women' is the whole point.Have you ever actually looked at the amount of threats women get when they dare to speak out about this stuff? Threats of violence, death threats, doxxing, etc. These threats come from violent men dressing up as women and using their male socialisation to try and intimate women into being quiet. These men are not capable of talking about the topic in any reasonable way. It’s their way or you deserve a baseball bat. Women hiding their views due to threats of male violence is nothing new.
But that's exactly what you want, because in your mind, trans women are men.Ooh, I love this comeback! They think it’s such a great “gotcha” but it isn’t!
I don’t need to check someone’s genitals to know when there’s a man in the female bathrooms. The height, build, walk and mannerisms all tell me that. You really think the average trans woman is unclockable? Women can spot a man in their peripheral vision in a split second.
And before you mention that trans women need access to female bathrooms for their safety (and I’ve said this before): female bathrooms are for females, they’re not a refuge for anyone who happens to fear men.
She was raised female. This is not a trans issue. It's a hormone in sporting events issue.Lol you can’t get over how unpopular this nonsense is with 99% of the world’s population.
as for #translivesmatter, did you know that they actually have lower murder rates than average? The only transwomen likely to get killed are those who work as prostitutes.
Caster Semenya is a male. HE was just born without a penis due to androgen insensitivity. Allegedly he was brought up male, and knew of the truth, but invented a female backstory so his mediocre male self could wipe the floor with women.
It is despicable that all three medalists in the Women’s 800m at the Rio Olympics were biological males.
They should rely on genetics tests for Y chromosomes to get rid of these cheats.
How many trans people do you know irl? From your rhetoric I'm guessing none.In their quest for their “trans rights” they are trying to take away women’s rights in the process. Like the rights to access single sex spaces without someone who labels themselves as a woman being able to enter that space. They arent just trying to get on with their lives.
And they are 100% erasing lesbian and gay people. Imagine trying to find a same sex partner and being told that you are transphobic for wanting to be with an actual woman instead of a person with a penis and a lifetime of male socialisation. It’s ridiculous.
