Issuing a further warning about spoilers - there has now been a leak of the first 14(!) chapters, also in English - there's a Reddit thread with the links if you're interested. People are being considerate and put up spoilers there and try to keep discussion to the Megathread for it, but if you want to make absolutely sure, don't go on Reddit.

I had no idea the books were getting another audio series! It just keeps growing. A reminder how thread 1 started out as a trash thread to JK back in 2018 and 8 threads and 8000+ posts later here we are today!

I do remember briefly thinking it was time for her to reevaluate when she revealed the wizards used to magic away their excrement before the introduction of modern plumbing. And her sort-of denial that Hermione was written as a white character didn’t sit well with me - I have no problem with a non-white actor playing her but I will never believe for a second that she imagines Hermione as anything but white.

I much prefer her when she’s handing perverts and oddballs their arses on twitter and speaking out against this insanity.

Yeah I think its midnight Pacific time that audible releases , maybe because Amazon has headquarters in california.

Does anyone know if any bookshops are going to open midnight ,like with the HP books

I doubt it very much. As popular as the books are, they aren’t the same kind of phenomenon.

Not to mention the tit the likes of Waterstones would get if they made a song and dance about a JKR release. They won’t be able to hide books from sale like other gender critical authors, but there’s no way the kinds of people who work in bookshops (blue hair, rainbow lanyard, Lucy & Yak dungarees) would even agree to work a night shift for that hateful TERF bigot 😅

Amazon have given me a £3 off code if I use a pick-up location for the first time. Tried to use it on this and apparently not eligible :(

Off round the Web this afternoon to find the best price.

I've got the hardback preordered, but I also want the ebook for rereads, but the ebook price is eyewatering, seems to be the case for a lot of books these days. I think I will wait for the ebook price to come down before I snap that up. I'll read the hardback first.

This is great! I want to read as soon as possible but I also want to savour it as a richly deserved treat so I am probably going to wait for a free weekend to enjoy it. Unless of course I am tempted before then!
I've booked Tuesday off and really just because I want to dive into that book like nothing else 😂 If it goes like IBH and TRG, I'll be rushing through my first read because I simply can't not and then will promptly re-read it multiple times at a slower pace, until I get it out of my system, then do the full series rereads.

Thats how i feel I read them, too fast. But im already setting myself up for finishing the last 2 then do a full series reread before the paperback comes out of THM

Ordered it. Our post doesn't arrive until late afternoon, so I should be able to start it after work. I am NOT going to stay up until the small hours finishing it in go this time!

I’ve promised myself that too but I think it’s inevitable 🤣🤣

We're going to need a new thread title soon - if we carry on working through the Strike novels in order, it needs to be based around The Silkworm.

hmm thats hard because The silkworm is so short. The Skillworm? The Shrilworm The sick burn? (cos shes always out-witting her critics?)

I'm trying to come up with something around a silk also being a term for KC - Jolyon Maugham is one and he's a worm.

The Silk Squirms?
