A few people on twitter made the good point that these people should be arguing against the porn being there rather than arguing about JK's response/reaction to it.

No depths they won't sink to

Exactly. What did they expect her to do, reply and increase the chances of the horrible posts being seen by more people? Reporting was the best thing to do. But remember, it's always womens fault, no matter what

Yes, but misogynists tend to put all the blame on the women being attacked/criticised rather than the men who are actually committing the crimes.

Batshit crazy response to JK Rowling from the fox killer
He’s being deliberately obtuse 🙄 I saw so many of those tweets and it was always, ALWAYS the parents tweeting their children’s artwork. JKR was clearly not encouraging ten year olds to join Twitter and send the artwork themselves.

Yes and her tweet had said "if parents or guardians want to tweet...". He is a disgusting man

"You shouldn't have worn such a revealing outfit"

"You shouldn't have lead him on"

His take is basically "you were asking for it". Same old, same old

If the last article I found about Milli / Rowling was ridiculously over the top this one is even more ridiculous (archive link)

Beyond Rowling’s continued grossness and torching of her legacy, the most mind-boggling thing here is that she views herself as a champion for women. Yet her constant victimhood in this regard is regressive, and she and her supporters are not advocating for women, but for bigotry and exclusion.
Even Aidan showed up - I'd blissfully forgotten all about him

That article. I don’t even know where to begin!

The whataboutery, the opinion as fact, the way the author totally dismisses the very real, visible support JK Rowling has but then uses one single tweet from an apparent “cis woman” to justify why JK is just sooooo abusive.

I try to laugh but I just want to cry. The complete inability of those like the fragrant Adrian C to understand the very basic axis of opression for females, is somewhat mind boggling.

I always say, this whole topic has opened my eyes to a) how many men hate women and b) how so many people absolutely refuse to engage with the other side of an argument accurately. It’s either total ignorance (and often sticking their finger in their ears) or it’s cherry picking parts to twist the argument.

Hope they arrest whoever sent that tweet to her. I don't 100% agree with her stance on the issue, but she has only ever stated her viewpoint with respect. (Though is she aware she used the colours of the genderqueer flag in one of her recent tweets? I can't think she meant to. :D )

I was also pleased to read about the progress her book is making. I wish she'd focus more on that sometimes, as it's a lot nicer to read about. I'd choose a book over social media any day!

They were Suffragette colours first.

Green - give
White - women
Violet - votes

Ooh okay. I didn't realise that's what she was commandeering.
It will be partly to do with the Marion Millar case as well, which centres around suffragette ribbons tied to a railing - as that's a Scottish one, I imagine she's watching it very closely.

Hi Ensay, can I ask what part of her stance you don't agree with, out of interest?
Maybe another day if I've got the energy. I've discussed it to death (not on here) and I've grown weary of it. If I go into it, I know my notifications will light up like a Christmas tree because 99% of this thread has the same view. Plus this heat is making me sleepy.

What I will say is I respect her as an author and that she isn't afraid to air her views.

So apparently Rowling is creating a genocide and is a far-right anti-feminist white supremacist and the police in the UK are on the side of the TERFs (click through for the full list of her crimes - and, of course, the thread is locked)

and a few tweets supporting her to brighten the mood a bit

and a rogue Labour councillor breaks away from the party line...
