No one is saying 8 means hate, just that it rhymes and sounds very similar and that’s what this site would have been referred as to by people who already think we’re a bunch of haters/nasty trolls

Loads are saying it means hate. People who hate here will always hate here regardless of the name. Catering to them is futile.

Tattle is often referred to by others as a hate site / bunch of haters. Already on Reddit people were saying yesterday about the new name and calling it Hate Cafe. 8 does not mean Hate but it’s hardly a big leap and rolls off the tongue more easily then 8.Cafe in my opinion.
There was also no clear need to change the name from the established Tattle name. The vision to improve and reorganise the site to group threads in a new way isn’t impacted by the Tattle name and 8.Cafe was pretty random. Tattle had a reputation sure but at least it’s known and has some infamy. A name change causes confusion and makes us harder to find for those looking for all the hot tea and usually well rounded discussions that we serve
When searching for 8.Cafe just now I came across a Hunsnet Thread about it instead, they wet themselves!!

Or maybe you should mix cheesy poofs with little sandwiches with the crusts cut off - perhaps they interact badly with each other.

i’m sure the mods have previously said no to this because it can basically be used to sass and wind up other posters (kinda like the vomit one does now), especially if “we” didn’t want to be 8/hate cafe. i would love an eye roll but i don’t think we’ll be allowed one for bullying reasons

I went on one of my usual threads this morning and there was a series of posts clearly from a completely different thread and I got so confused I didn't even notice the name change at 1st.
