Is 25 old?

I'll be 28 in Feb, and the Big 30, won't be too far behind.

I do fret about being 30 because I'll be saying goodbye to my 20s, and facing what I have always seen as the gateway to middle-age.

And yet it is only a number, and a state of mind. Just get on with your life while you're still fit and able: do whatever you want and enjoy every minute of it (y)

Do you think 25 is old? I still feel like a 16 year old. Although I take my responsibilities as an adult seriously, I am good to those around me, deep down, I still feel around 16/17. I didn't really go out partying or clubbing when I was 18/24. I do feel that my best years have passed me by without me enjoying them to the full. Only 15 years from 40 now. I know that I shouldn't be bothered about age, it's just a number and I will continue to live my life to the full. I am just curious what other people feel about being 25, I feel as though I should have spent the past 7 years out clubbing in Ibiza, Mykonos, Iyannapa.

Best years are your 30s

I definitely agree with the comment that it’s a generational attitude. For my generation no one has really gotten married until late 20s early 30s - I got wed at 29 - and now I’m 32 and mostly my friends have just started having babies in the last couple of years. Whereas my mum was married at 21 and baby by 24, so I think we mature later in life now as so many people go to uni and put off settling down until much later.

I also agree that 30s can be your best years. More so for just feeling confident in your self and not as bothered about pleasing everyone. I’m worried about 35 though - I feel like that’s the age turning point and keep thinking lately I really need to mature!

I don’t think it’s old, it’s a wonderful time to be carefree, take a different path career-wise, travel and just have lots of fun.

my dad passed away when I was 24 and so I felt like I missed out on those carefree years a little due to grief. I had my first baby at 28 so definitely make the most of now as you may end up settling down sooner than you think (if that’s something you want in life).

As my nan would say, “You’re just a Spring chicken.”

I’ll be 32 in Feb, married with kids. Sometimes I feel old, usually after a day of being run ragged by the children, and other times I feel like I’m still a teenager and can’t believe the amount of responsibility I have now.

Why on earth would you think 25 is old? are you purposely trying to be provocative? If you want to go out clubbing then go out clubbing, obs when we can of course, if you don’t then don’t. I never felt old at 25, I was 35 when I had my son and I think that was too young. I’m 43 now, should I be worried that I’m just 7 years from 50?! Just eat well, drink lots of water, exercise, wear sunscreen and from time to time go out and be silly with your friends. Stop worrying about age. Take the advice from an ancient generation X’er, who still isn’t old enough to know better

I’ve just turned 25 and I don’t feel old. I feel like an adult, I have done since I was a teen I guess, but I don’t feel old. I got a mortgage when I was 21 and even that didn’t make me feel “old”.

Both my partner and I are the youngest members of both of our families though, which certainly helps us to feel young. Everyone else in our families are at least mid 30’s+, so no children.

I didn’t go out clubbing either, I’ve probably had less than ten nights out since I turned 18. Although I used to drink on the park in my younger teens.

To be honest, I feel like I have my whole life ahead of me and that my life is just truly beginning.

No ,25 is an amazing age! You have the freedom of being young but also you’re old enough to know what you like and what you want. I’d love to be 25 again, I’ve gone through life thinking whatever age I am is “too old” (when I was 21 I thought I was too old to go clubbing 😂 And was embarrassed incase someone asked me my age) - now I look back and realise how stupid I was, honestly! You’ve got time on your hands, do whatever makes you happy:)

I don't think OP was trying to be provocative, I think it was more that you spend your teens feeling like 25 is old and ages away from you and then all of a sudden you're 25. Also when you still feel like you're 18 in your mind, it can feel old when you think about your actual age.

I’m 27 (28 in Jan) and I’m looking forward to my 30s! I’ve wasted my 20s on men and my late 20s and 30s are going to be spent being selfish, forging my career and seeing more of the world - post Covid! So no, 25 isn’t old. You’ve got a lot left to live!

I’m 35 and I don’t “feel” old as such, but my life currently / temporarily isn’t what I hoped it would be at this stage and I’d honestly kill right now to be 25 again! I also wonder if I’m too old to listen to music for hours etc. and watch Family Guy and MiC etc 🤣

I had a bit of a quarter life crisis just before I turned 25 because my life wasn't turning out how I'd planned and I was getting too old to be wasting time doing what I was. I think because I was almost about to finish uni for the 2nd time and being a proper adult was around the corner didn't help either. So i broke up with my then boyfriend (best decision I could have ever made though it was a dead end) and had a wild summer 🤣
A few months later I met my current partner and never looked back since.

So long story short 25 isn't old and all ages come before you know it!

I used to think the contestants in the over 25’s category on the X Factor were mature (even the contestants who were as young as aged 25-30)

As someone said earlier. It’s all relative.

I don't think I feel ages in order if you get what I mean . I felt younger when my child was at school than I did when they were small. I think it was because i felt like I had more freedom when they were at school and they were more independent.
