I just want to thank everyone in these threads for some of the biggest laughs I've had in days!

I found out yesterday that my landlord is selling my home out from under me, and have spent the last 24 hours either crying, eating ice cream or researching how to contact the black market to sell and organ so I can afford a deposit on a new place.

You guys have really kept my spirits up, thank you!

Leading on from Ioan’s career talk from the last thread (even though he’s done pretty well for himself).
I think that the worst career move Ioan made was move to Hollywood. He doesn’t seem to have worked there since he moved. I think he could easily have taken over from Hugh Grant and Colin Firth if he’d stayed in the UK.

I think it means he has moved away from the upper class bumbler. Since taking on Jeremy Thorpe role, or the rogue neighbour in Paddington 2, his career has broadened out and he is the better actor for it.

I honestly don't judge IG for not doing stage or for wanting lucrative roles. It is a brutal game and easier for people who have a cushioned background to make some choices 'for art', or perhaps he really just doesn't enjoy it. I'm thinking more of things that might do his career good now (I do not need your totally unqualified help, says IG, *correctly) and if he was up for it, some well judged stage in something a bit unexpected, perhaps musical, might be a positive. I really do rate him as an actor and want him to succeed, whatever he does.

* I am Florenz Ziegfeld compared to Deb and Lin, though.
