1. Genuinely think I’m depressed but not done anything about it. It’s mainly due to infertility and I can’t see meds helping that.

2. I thought I wouldn’t like Tattle but find myself here everyday and think it’s great! Been a great distraction this year

3. I’m ridiculously scared of spiders. I put peppermint oil over the entire house during this time of year and drive my husband mad. Even bought plugins that are supposed to make them go away (they don’t work). Horrible wiggly little people
My mental health has been at a real low due to infertility. I spoke to gp and am going through therapy and stress management. It’s helped to talk to someone. Hear if you wanna chat xxx

I feel mine will be pretty boring but here goes!

1) I am terrified of Sloths. Never used to be a problem..... until they got printed on EVERYTHING. Every shop has sloth crap!! (This stems from when my Brothers dad used to play silent hill on the PS1 and the things that attacked you looked like sloths. What they actually were made it FAR worse that I thought they were a sloth 🤣)

2) I am also hypermobile but after an operation on my thumb (unrelated) I have one normal thumb now and one that bends oddly haha

3) I'm 32 and live with my crazy rescue cat who has his own Instagram lol it's obviously him uploading his photos 🤣

1. Also think I'm depressed but tattle is a great form of self-medication

2. I have the worst imposter syndrome EVER

3. I also have constant hypervigilance, I don't believe this is a medical or psychiatric symptom, but it does make me incredibly empathetic towards those who have it as a symptom. It makes me extremely perceptive to my surroundings, so it's not always a weakness

I speak 3 languages besides English.

I fear dying young and leaving my children behind.

I’m very loyal but once I’m done I’m done and I will just cut people out of my life.

Hyper vigilance that’s such a good way to put it I’m the same. I used to view it as a weakness until I realised what it actually was and how I can use it to my advantage.

Meds might not help but my surgery offers talking therapy too which may help
You process it all. I’ve been on the meds twice before and I’m not really sure they helped me. They just made me feel indifferent so that made me act out of character at times. I didn’t consider myself better until around 6 months to one year off

1. I live in a permanent state of thinking I’m rubbish at my job and that I’m going to get sacked, even though deep down I know the opposite is true and I get told frequently how good I am.
🙋🏼‍♀️ Hi friend. I made the smallest mistake last week and internally catastrophised it so much, ended up having a panic attack at work whilst asking when my disciplinary will be. Was met with “Jesus Christ, how many times?! We all think you’re great, you’re fine, put your fishing rod away”. It’s like semi imposter syndrome? I know I can do my job, I know I’m good at my job, no one has ever told me I’m dangerous or doing it wrong, yet for some reason I don’t believe I should be here and I’m always one shift away from being told to leave and never return... Would love to know why these thoughts won’t leave us?!

Another friend here. Daily anxiety that I'm going to be sacked.... Even though I get compliments and praise fairly frequently I'm in one of those jobs where if you get struck off then you're out for life. Like you've said no rhyme or reason for the fear but it's every day.

Yes same here! Maybe it’s also the underlying knowledge that if we were to be struck off that’s our whole career gone, everything we’ve wanted and worked so hard for with no chance of another shot. I often worry that I don’t have a back up plan, but then again I guess you don’t go to uni and begin a career with the plan that you’ll be struck off eventually so having a back up plan shouldn’t be necessary... 🤷🏼‍♀️

I can only raise my left eyebrow too! Maybe it is this way round for most people. Anyone else?
I'm in that club. I can only raise my left eyebrow

I had to do a double take that I didn't write this. All four of those points are me. I want to add that I give people a lot of chances, more than most people would try, but after a while I'm worn down and cut them out. Once I'm done in done, there's no possible reconciliation.

1. I'm really terrible at job interviews (I just get too nervous) and, the 3 times I've got a job through an interview were by luck/chance:
first time - the other candidate didn't turn up
second time - they were desperate for people to do the night shift
third time - a family member that worked there put in a good word
My last job didn't require an interview as it was agency work in a warehouse.

2. I sometimes pick things up with my feet as I am too lazy to bend down!

3. I love watching old rubbish TV (talent shows, soaps, reality), as it makes me feel comforted, and reminds me of being a carefree child. (such as old eps of Stars in Their Eyes Kids, 2003 eastenders, and season 2 of The X Factor)

I'm sorry - it's awful isn't it? I have therapy but not finding it helping much if im honest. It's one of those things ive been feeling so low for so long that im used to it by now - pushing everyone away. I recognise it all but just don't have the will to do anything about it - just want to be able to have a baby tbh.

Here if you need as well - wouldn't wish this on anyone <3 xx

I know. Iv pushes friends away because they have their families and I just can’t Be around them. I avoid going places that are popular with families. It just feels so a lonely place to have ended up. Every morning just feels like here we go again, another day to survive.
It’s crap, it destroys people, takes over your life.
I give it all the, I’m staying postive talk but really I’m absolutely petrified it won’t ever happen for us. Or that one day I just won’t be able to carry on like this anymore.

I love stuff like this!
1) I’m doing a PhD researching juvenile arthritis and I’m really proud of myself. I left school with nothing, managed to get a degree and I want a career in health policy research one day.
2) I’m obsessed with white chocolate/salted caramel. Anything with that on it, I’m all over.
3) I’m learning to drive!

I am so glad that you are researching this widely misunderstood disease. My son was diagnosed with JIA, but it took ages. He was in a lot of pain for months due to this lack of understanding. Many GPs and specialists could not pinpoint it accurately. It was a very worrying time. Once we found a paediatric rheumatologist, he had around 12 procedures over six years done under general anaesthetic. They needed him to be completely still to inject accurately into his knee. His school could not understand that he could be practically crippled in the morning but fine by the afternoon. Teachers thought he was making it up. I was furious and my husband had to give several PE teachers a medical explanation.
