Can’t believe we’re already at the semi finale. This season is going by insanely fast.

John was carried through to the semis by Craig. I don't know how he survived three weeks on the sofa, and countless weeks not finishing stuff. I think Victoria was a stronger designer than him, it's a shame she was kicked out in the hospitality box week.
I'm not keen on Briony's style, but at least she generally gets things finished.

I'd have really loved to see what the girl who did 70s designs did for some of these tasks, I find John's stuff isn't very memorable, the only thing I do remember is those stupid dog steps, for the wrong reasons.

Hmmm Craig's doesn't look good this week based on the computer generated design

Really like John's (if he can pull it off)

Nooooooooooooo!!!!

How can that boring black and white space with unchanged furniture and words written on the walls be worthy of a place in the final?!!?!

I really disagree. Craig's was awful, and yet again focused on what he likes rather than the brief.

Johns was stunning. I also think he is the stronger/more diverse designer. He's just awful at time keeping, especially in the limits of the competition.

But let's face it, it's pretty obvious, with the prize and after this weeks feedback, that Rita is going to win

John’s bar was stunning…. His performance space was very underwhelming

If he wins next week over Rita it will be a travesty! She absolutely nailed it this week

Craig really ballsed it up this week. Who was his telly friend in his reel? Recognised her but couldn't place her!

I feel bad for Craig but his design made very little sense and it’s been done elsewhere and to better effect (for example, The Cosy Club).

I didn’t mind the flying guitars and I liked the Tartan wallpaper but the random Sex Pistols heart looked really cheap and childish and not linked at all to Granny chic. The disco ball guitar was bizarre.

Thought John did much better this week, Rita smashed it again and should be nailed on as the winner but Michelle’s decisions often baffle me so…

Argh Craig. Stumbled at the final hurdle. That downstairs space was exactly where his skill at a sort of cosy 50s speakeasy would have been perfect.
I am utterly baffled John has made it this far. Baffled. Not on this week's but generally.
Rita's was good and I loved the concept but I didn't like the idea of a VIP area tbh. Why? In a small comedy club. Seems a bit wanky.
And a bit unfair Craig had two areas over different floors to deal with unlike the others.
But on tonight's Craig had to go sadly.

Right decision based on that challenge and I guess John has the growth and development story arc whereas Craig started strong and has done well throughout but he took it too far this week in terms of doing what he wanted and didn’t think about the client and overall brief enough. I really felt for Craig when he realised it was him going when Michelle said something about the space needs to showcase the performer and not detract (something along those lines). He just hung his head and knew then he hadn’t fulfilled the brief.

If Rita doesn’t win, we riot!

if you look at Rita’s space, it was an awkward shape with a section that was out of view of the stage. I think turning that bit into a VIP area was a clever way of making a feature of it - it works as a nice seating area when the space is just functioning as a bar, and the comedian could hang there with family and friends before their set on comedy nights.

I think they all had the performance area and a bar area to transform, just configured differently. In terms of floor space I imagine it worked out about even and they all had some challenges to overcome: John had the very tall ceilings and need to keep the link to the history of the building, Rita had very low ceilings and the strange shaped room, Craig had space over 2 levels to unite.

When it’s a business I always check out their insta afterwards. Interestingly Craig’s and Johns venues have kept their designs, Rita’s hasn’t.

I don't think it's so surprising John has made it this far. His designs have always been solid to strong, with great ideas and very professional, practical and business focused. Rather than indulging in crazy ideas or ensuring his own style was in there.

His time keeping has always been his issue, which, in theory can be learned. Good design, not so much
