I really don’t get why Briony won stand out space. The room was boring, the rugby balls on the wall looked weird and amateurish, the chair coverings were really poor, and are the hospitality people really going to wash a white tablecloth for every guest?

But I do think the right person went, Victoria’s space lacked taste.

Plus both judges said Briony had made a fundamental error putting that shelf by the window at the wrong level. So you couldn't actually see the pitch from the room.

Do we think they were just trying to make it less obvious that this series is a two horse race between Rita and Craig?!

I think Briony won by default by producing a room that hit the brief the best rather than the best design.

I was wondering exactly that - hence the faux jeopardy of Craig being on the sofa. I mean it really is going to be those two in the final isn't it? And probably Rita to win.
What is the prize this series?

I agree that Briony winning seemed plucked out of the air this week. If anyone likes this sort of thing there’s an Australian show called the Block I think watch or one of the channel 5 channels show it. It can get a bit MAFS at times with orchestrated drama but it focuses on home renovations and is quite fun.

I love The Block! I tune out most of the drama but the work they do is great. Think my favourite was a big old building converted into flats, possibly in Melbourne? it was art deco with a lot of features retained, the lobby was stunning. Quite exciting when they were all sold at auction at the end 🫣

The prize is to design a range for John Lewis again.

URGH I hated Briony's space. Michelle "I blow with the wind" Ogundahin usually goes in on people who use the existing furniture, but Briony got away with it, even though the upholstery was shoddy and that table cloth was hideous and didn't go with the rest of the room. As others have said, there was also the fundamental error of the shelf blocking the view of the pitch.

I LOVED Rita and Craig's spaces. John is getting on my nerves now, three weeks on the sofa and he's still clinging on. His room was too cramped, again - how do the back-to-back chair people get out easily? Poor Victoria's downfall was that wallpaper. She bought it to try to save time but it was poor quality and therefore pulled the rug from under her.

Looking forward to the retail challenge, although I hope there will be just one person going. Imagine if it was Rita and Craig V John and Briony!!

I was surprised Michelle overlooked Briony's shelf blocking the pitch. I mean a fundamental role of those hospitality rooms is to view the match 🤦‍♀️
And as you say on other occasions she tears strips off people for just reusing all the existing furniture. This time however it was 'clever' or something like that.
And other times she's annoyed if things are too obviously themed or clichéd. But Craig having his 50s lounge missed the brief. I can sort of understand that but I thought it was stunning and luxurious with that budget. And if I was going to see a rugby match I don't think I'd need a reminder in the room tbh. I'd know. Plus nice for Twickenham to offer different themed rooms for different clients.
John has to be the next to go. He's nice and I often like his designs but he always runs out of time and gets his proportions a bit wrong.
Rita is always good - I didn't like her church pew - so uncomfortable. Some club type chairs would have been better and more flexible in that space.

ETA these are two existing hospitality suites at Twickenham - neither remotely rugby themed. I think Craig's would fit in perfectly.

I don't think contestants should be penalised if the tradesman don't do a good job. I thought some of the problems with the wallpaper were caused by the chap who was putting it up rather than the design itself.

I think this week John will either finally get it all done on time and do really well, or he will over stretch again and run out of time and be out

I think Victoria just didn’t have a natural design flair - it was too studied and corporate. Her room looked like a function room at a premier inn.

Did anyone else think the rugby ball installation that Briony put up would just get messed around with by drunk visitors?

I loved Craig’s design but it was possibly a bit too ‘themed’ to be a nod to something if that makes sense? But wow, that man knows how to stretch a budget! Where did Briony’s money go in comparison when she reused the existing furniture and still couldn’t afford a full set of rugby balls? 😂

I really liked some of Rita’s touches but I wasn’t that keen on her design this week.

I’m with you on Craig’s room, I’m not even a fan of mid century furniture but I thought his room looked fabulous. It wouldn’t bother me at all that there was nothing to link it to rugby, I thought Briony’s weird collection of balls on the wall was a token gesture.

I’m always a bit shocked by the painting tbh. I know they have limited time but some of the work is so shoddy.

I loved Craig and John's shop - though my OH hated it.
I said the same as Mary Portas about the clothes shop re the black curtains. Such a missed opportunity for a lovely bold colour or design.

I really want to visit the paper shop now! Craig was so clever turning the paper into lampshades and what he did with the window was brilliant
