Ok, just finished the show now. I loved Roisin’s dressing room and the bedroom she did in the final challenge with the pink curtains. The other rooms were a bit much for me. But I liked how she became more confident at the end of the show. I think Matt’s dressing room looked a bit corporate with the chairs but I thought it was a nice alternative for an artist who wanted a more chilled vibe, a more masculine vibe. I did like Ben’s feathered lamp haha.
Matt really surprised me because on paper I should hate him - I loathe brutalism and think it’s the worst thing to happen to the country (aesthetically) but he made it work. Just read this interview with him and for a young guy he really has his head screwed on and seems genuinely nice. I’m glad him and Ant are friends and they worked well together! https://uk.news.yahoo.com/interior-design-masters-final-matt-smithwood-200024846.html

Such a shame how Domnall turned out. Like Matt said it’s a very wholesome show, it’s family friendly. And he’s sort of killed that vibe for himself with his antics.

I wish there were more client briefs and somewhere a bit different to transform this series. The Nun’s bedrooms were cool, something like that. Maybe even like a hospice room for children (though that may be too emotional?) but something different than shops and travel places

That Piano 😟.. all the right notes, not necessarily in the right order.

What’s the point of an out of tune piano ?

Is her last name Yucky? She's running the risk of being another Domnall who had a big hissy fit his season. No one gets a career out of being a touchy little bitch. Or a career out of being a one trick pony.
It’s this art thing she’s created called Yucky, I think. Her surname is Abdullah.

I thought despite some brilliant touches like the front door, that the pop art room would give me a migraine if i spent more than 5 mins in it?

I was wondering exactly that - hence the faux jeopardy of Craig being on the sofa. I mean it really is going to be those two in the final isn't it? And probably Rita to win.
What is the prize this series?
The prize is to design a range for John Lewis again.

I've really enjoyed seeing Banjo as a judge on Scotland's Home of the Year if you're needing an interior TV fix (I've also finished the LLB Channel 4 programme with lots of amazingly bold homes). Does anyone else have any interior-y shows they recommend to watch whilst waiting for the next series to hurry up?
See I wanna watch Scotlands Home Of the Year but I HATE the narrator - she does the news sometimes too and her voice goes through me 😂

What else has the guy with the grey beard been in?

i and my friend separately said we’ve seen him before but neither of us remember from what!
I didn't realise there's a new series, now started watching! But my first thought was I've seen him before, so rushed here to see if anyone knew! I'm wondering a show like come dine with me?

Yes John totally mucked up the window area which was part of his remit. I know Craig did the actual window dressing but John was in charge of the storage area underneath and didn't do it, also just plonked empty baskets in a gap where he was meant to put something else.
Briony at least completed everything she set out to do.
John was extremely lucky Craig got him through. All his 'I'm not on the sofa this time!' was really nothing to do with him.
However I do like him and he seems very nice - but 100% he's out next.
What is the next challenge? I've completely forgotten.
I think it’s creating a space for an Edinburgh Fringe Act.

Definitely should've had more Norman in this episode, he is a joy (I might be biased being from down that way). If I was Monica I would've probably kept all three in as they were so shit, and you can't send them all home.

I feel like the judges forgot about the practicality angle when looking at the final designs. Only once was it brought up that the bright orange will be good because people will have suitcases and scuff the wall etc. But when praising John’s they didn’t say anything about having pure white in the bedroom (people will scuff it, it will get dirty), that headboard he made looked to have an open top which will be a nightmare to clean and will just be full of dust and dead woodlice in no time, the seats in the living room were striped with white which again will get dirty very quickly.

Matt was robbed. Late to the party but his space was elegant and grown up. I wish him well in his career.
