Quite. And chuck into the mix the sneery judgemental tone towards others - quite often women. Remember the daft bat was convinced any criticism of Sali Hughes was because we had beef faces and were all jealous as Sali was so pretty? (Of course Sali lapped up this bilge. Prettily).
Pure projection on IK's part as that's obviously the reason *she* doesn't like other women

Interesting interview with IK's half sister Afsaneh here:

Two notable points:
1. The rank nepotism in this family: "Still, she agreed to be interviewed at St Catherine’s College, Oxford to please her father, and in spite of having only two A-levels got in."
2. “When India and I first had the conversation [about India having had botox], she actually said, ‘You have no right to an opinion, it’s worthless, meaningless, so shut up. Of course it’s not relevant to you’.” How lovely of her.
You can flick between two picture of India and her very pretty sister. It is quite the shock!

Their mother is beautiful, very elegant. India seems to have stacked the weight on, she looked way prettier before. It is hard after a certain age to not get large, but she wrote a foolproof diet book. 😂

Her other sister is beautiful too. Can’t be easy. But there’s still no need to be so awful about other women because of it.

I never really understood the friendship between her and Sali Hughes. I'd have thought Sali would run a mile from someone like her. Maybe it's because of nepotism or maybe they're both awful. You just know India is the type of friend that would leave you feeling awful about yourself

Isn’t there a bit of a thing of Sali not have any school friends and most of her friends coming from Twitter? India was very much one of the queen bees in those years of Twitter (I think they call it “Twitter of yore 🙄

Yeah that’s when they were all having a great time being nasty to Dawn O’Porter. Who is apparently lovely.

That’s absurd, with 2 a levels no normal person can get into any red brick uni! Let alone oxford!
I had a school friend who did so well at their Oxbridge interview that they were given a conditional offer of two Ds. He had no connections whatsoever, but they really wanted him. It does happen.

I'm not saying it didn't happen here, but it does happen.

Re Dawn -It boggles my mind and I just cannot comprehend how supposedly professional women can be so nasty about someone on a public platform. India Knight does seem to be the ringleader.

Sali is just a professional at latching on to people she think could either help boost her career in some way or maybe give her a bit of credibility. The fact that they could be a heinous individual wouldn’t bother her in the slightest.

India’s media connections will remain a massive attraction for her, hence her reluctance to comment on the loathsome boyfriends latest diabolical crime. If he had been, for example, Liz Jones boyfriend can you imagine the frothing at the mouth from Sali?

India telling her own sister she has no right to an opinion is just too funny considering she has written books lecturing women on all manner of subjects. She also stated before she would have no problem telling a friend if they needed botox. Tell me, India, what's the perfect length for hair so that we don't look like knackered mermaids or prison governors?

She really is a vile individual

The absolute nerve of her positioning herself as some sort of womans woman. She is about the furthest thing away from that imaginable
I know WAY too many people like this though. Society is a mess.

That's the bit that gets me (aside from the veiled threat of violence from the husband). Beef faces? Really India? Pot meet kettle.
I know - and it's so reductive and insulting to assume if women have a problem with another woman it's because they are weird. You have to look a certain way to be allowed an opinion.
It's like feminism never happened with them. The sort of thing Jim Davidson would say.

Has anyone ever read one of her books? I haven't. I might have to break my rule to read her hômage to the Mitford's when it comes out (second hand obvs). You just know it is going to be appalling.

Back in the 80s a standard Oxbridge offer was EE. If you’d passed the entrance exam & interview that was enough. I had friends with EE offers at UCL too.

The only one I ‘read’ was The Shops. I cannot remember much about it except she recommended a very expensive brand of mattress called Vispring.

I loved My Life on a Plate when I was a teenager. Then I read the follow up (the Christmas one) and the tone just completely changed and it felt more autobiographical than MLoaP which made it less enjoyable! I can’t really remember any plot/storylines apart from awful families?

Do we reckon the publication date will be kicked into the long grass after this?!
