Is that actually true? I've heard it before but never been able to find any evidence and apparently she's always denied it (as you fucking would whether it was true or not).

The book review is great. I also read Life on a Plate back in the day and even more embarrassingly I had the book she wrote on shopping which basically recommends you spend your days wafting around in horrendously expensive muumuus from Toast.

Yeah, I’m close friends with the teenager. The story was outed and then confirmed via press. She’s doing really well now, but obvs a bit freaked out by all this. She’s still coming to terms with it being really bad as she blamed herself for a while. Really didn’t help it was framed as a kiss and tell thing, rather than a what a creepy evil bastard. It started in early 2010, don’t know when he got together with IK?

I read somewhere that they had been together 12 years. Of course that may not be correct. Her daughter was 7 in 20111 according to one Standard article I just looked at. There are a lot of links to articles about her if you start at the beginning of this thread. They moved to Suffolk in 2015 as that is when she sold her house in Chalcot Square NW1 for £6 and a half a million quid.

And yes, apparently that's valid use of the term, who knew! I have no idea how 'credible' a socialist IK is (she definitely has a Tory vibe to me but I have no idea), I just don't object to her being a socialist who lives in a big house with a meadow and an expensive mattress.

I think it's so much easier to preach socialism when you have no need at all to depend on the State. I have noticed this recently as a trend - my richest friends enjoy showing off their left-leaning creds from the safety of their large houses filled with privately educated children.

And she is in no way a Tory! You obvs know a fair bit about Joyce - more than me at any rate - but if you looked at her Twitter it is and always has been pretty left wing.

Anyway I don't want an argument about this awful woman or her dodgy man, it's too hot.

I think it’s brilliant. She definitely has the measure of India. I know most of IK’s mates aren’t newsy journalists but I do think if it had been a Tory or Corbynite MP they would have commented on it.

He's not an MP though (JB makes the same error in her article, wilfully I'm guessing in her case) - and I don't think it would matter if he were a Tory or Corbynite. They're not crucifying him because he's a mate's husband, not because of his political leanings.
