I found a review of her book "In Your Prime" (which sounds utterly dreadful), this excerpt from the review stood out

India’s daughter has a genetic syndrome and has learning disabilities and health issues. She must be pretty vulnerable in the grand scheme of things.

Yes, iK wrote a series of newspaper articles when her daughter was young and she and her then partner were in and out of hospital with her while they were seeking a diagnosis.

I read somewhere that they had been together 12 years. Of course that may not be correct. Her daughter was 7 in 20111 according to one Standard article I just looked at. There are a lot of links to articles about her if you start at the beginning of this thread. They moved to Suffolk in 2015 as that is when she sold her house in Chalcot Square NW1 for £6 and a half a million quid.

I think it's so much easier to preach socialism when you have no need at all to depend on the State. I have noticed this recently as a trend - my richest friends enjoy showing off their left-leaning creds from the safety of their large houses filled with privately educated children.

And she is in no way a Tory! You obvs know a fair bit about Joyce - more than me at any rate - but if you looked at her Twitter it is and always has been pretty left wing.

Anyway I don't want an argument about this awful woman or her dodgy man, it's too hot.

We all depend on the state in countless ways though, including rich people who send their kids to private schools (even if some wouldn't like to admit it). I'm not sure why it's easier for them than less wealthy people to preach socialism?

I only have passing knowledge of EJ from recent news articles, and IK recently deleted all her tweets so I have no idea of how left wing they were. All I really know of her is that she's a Sunday Times columnist (doesn't scream left wing) and opposed Scottish independence.

I thought it was just a discussion, not an argument; I picked up on the term "champagne socialist" because it's a term I don't agree with, but appreciate that it can also be used to describe fake socialists - I was just curious as to what made IK a fake socialist, because I'm not familiar enough with her output, and I don't think living in a big house qualifies her.

Do the ‘columnists’ (I know that’s a stretch but I can’t think of the word for regular writer in this scenario) write their own headlines (again wrong word, I’m a bit tipsy and my brain is not working)?

The style in which it often says ‘India knight has found blah blah blah’ seems so basic and jarring against the others in the style section, (almost as if she’s been set a task or a little menial job to keep her busy or something or is doing us a favour)

The legal definition of “making an image” doesn’t literally mean producing a photo or video (although it can of course), it extends to downloading images/videos, as in making copies of files.

I used to be confused by this too, but I believe that is correct. Anyone with a better handle on the law feel free to correct me.

Another company I had to boycott. Bought three pairs of shoes over the years but got sick of seeing them being given away free to fuckwits who have nothing better to do with their time than fuck about on Instagram calling it work...is it fuck....it schilling.

Which ones did you buy? I kept seeing Liberty London Girl with her gifted pairs of their shoes and boots and thought I’d try a pair but they were completely unsuitable for my feet. Prefer New Balance and Merrell shoes.

One of the sentencing issues must surely be that if every bloke who was arrested for this type of crime was put away then the jails would be full in 5 seconds. There cannot be the capacity for jailing men who do this can there? (Speculating, anyone know?)
