That top comment is so refreshing to read. Everyone is so far up India’s backside on Substack. Finally someone said it.

Not at all surprised it was taken down. Cup of Jo is pretty twee and the comments section is generally harmonious - based on the reaction to anything mentioned Gaza (pretty centrist talking points) I think very actively moderated. Her audience is whatever a Boden mum is in America.

I noticed India also has her house featured on Kate Watson Smyth - Mad About the House website - how is she managing to get this much free coverage!! I didn’t read what it said as I don’t subscribe

I think the key issue is that her relationship with him was used in mitigation at his trial. She colluded in his avoiding a prison sentence.

Precisely. At the trial she wasn't an innocent hapless bystander - she played an active role in the scumbag staying free.
I'll try to find the tweet she sent around the time. Self pitying drivel thanking all the friends who'd stood by them for the two years it had been in the works. All about the horrendous time she'd had. Not one hint of shame or contrition or understanding the revolting crimes he had committed and the victims.

ETA found it

That’s it, isn’t it- the line. This isn’t some woman who was completely financially and emotionally dependent on one horrible, manipulative man, Knight had choices here and the choice she made to stay with Joyce, crossed most people’s line.
And basically abandoning her daughter in the process too

The fact that she's so flippant about it "onwards" I'm sure the victims won't have been able to recover so easily will they. Just vile

Yes the 'I'm alright Jack' attitude was incredibly jarring. I think a few people called her out on it - Suzanne Moore springs to mind.
Though sadly there was a lot of sycophancy as you can imagine.

How can you be so disgustingly nonchalant about being with a dirty, creepy, nasty paedophile? I can think of a hundred reasons you should be ashamed of staying with someone who pleaded guilty to partaking in child sexual exploitation. It's bleeping evil

'I am fine... Onwards'

She is absolutely bleeping disgusting.
Yeah, and it's not all about her either! No word about the victims? It's gross. I don't think this is simply a case of guilt by association. Her attitude and the choice she made to defend a predator - that's why she's being judged.

Had she dumped the fucker when she realised what he was, she would have had all the support and solidarity. I think most of us cannot fathom why she, a woman with all choices available to her, defended and stayed with him. Not to mention her daughter having to move out of the family home as a condition of his sentence. And apparently she is the victim. What?
