How did he even have the opportunity to meet someone new from the outside? I thought you were only allowed a list of approved people to phone and visit such as family and friends that you already know. If he had these "groupies" visiting him why would that have been allowed given what he was in for?
Also wondering if there's already been a funeral?

Possibly not, they will still have to do an autopsy then release the body, then funerals can take up for three weeks (sometimes longer) to arrange. I should think it would be kept very quiet. I wonder if they will cremate him, lest his grave become a shrine to disturbed groupies or desecrated.

Yes,.can't remember where B was from and couldn't find much about her online. She's back in prison after breaching something upon release but A was released in 2023 I think

That Joanne I’m sure she used to think she was Victoria Beckham, I remember seeing someone years ago before all this came out. when VB had extensions she had really cheap ones and she used to have badly applied lipstick. This was years ago but when it all came out I was like I’m sure that that bird who used to come into work thinking she was VB.

I agree, he absolutely should have been jailed the first time, the stuff he was saying to what he thought was a child was absolutely disgusting. And the fact he thought any child would want a picture of his naked flabby middle aged body just shows how sick his mind is. Ugh, makes me absolutely sick!!

I'd love to know why they think a child would be the slightest bit interested in seeing a man's disgusting bits ,they really are sick individuals,that as you said will stop at nothing.

I’ve looked a couple of times and the who’s dated who stuff has been deleted, even tried to get it on the way back machine last night and couldn’t- it said it was only captured once in 2016. But I’m an absolute Luddite so others might be able to find a way. Someone earlier on the thread said they’d been able to see it on archive

I think we’ve heard all there is to know, to be honest - anything salacious would have come out around the time of the trial. But I could well be wrong. I hate seeing that pic of him in jail, he looks so sinister. I’m vaguely interested in whether he ever felt any remorse in any of it, even the way he was talking to that woman they’ve reported on today makes it seem like he thought he was gods gift.

I think if the baby was Watkin's son, that would be public information by now (I don't think he had any kids, thankfully). The baby was the son of one of the women convicted, but I think that's all that's known

I think it was insinuated by the mother that he was the father but never confirmed. I’ve just found this on Reddit so I didn’t imagine it.

Absolutely not the same as being gay nor a moot point.
When you are gay it doesn’t make you a rapist or probable of committing sex offences against males. It’s your sexuality in which you make a choice whether to have consensual sex / partnership with another male - that’s also consenting. Just because you are sexually attracted to someone of any race, gender, age etc, it doesn’t mean you can commit a sexual offence or that you will.
There is much more that goes into peadophillia / paraphilia than just sexual attraction. Some aren’t even sexually or romantically interested in children and have a paraphilia. Some are and do not commit offences against children. It’s complex and the UKs answer to it all isn’t helping children at risk of abuse nor potential offenders.

That's not what I said. It is the same as in you cannot change what or whom you are attracted to. I never said being gay made anyone a rapist. I also know it's complex but we will have to agree to disagree that intervention will change anything,and as I said you cannot prove said intervention reduces risk, or reduces offending as they have to be caught doing it first !

I didn't think he would be killed, as our prisons are not like the ones in the US. I was shocked when he was attacked a couple of years ago.

I thought he would have been better protected in prison by the prison system.

I thought he would be segregated but turns out he was in 'gen pop' so not as well protected as I assumed he would be, again given his high profile but also the nature of his crimes.

He had a secret twitter. I found it and it’s highly believable it’s him. I’ve only found 1, apparently there’s loads that he created over the years. @davidian45
I can imagine people wrote to him out of morbid curiosity, unknowing how to handle that manipulation / realise they’re being manipulated. Men like that are very clever.

I’ve just looked at this X/Twitter account. It was him and he clearly was VERY mentally unwell. He appeared to love his mum though.

I do think it’s them from what they’ve posted. I’m not sure if she was groomed per se as it seems she only met him once at 15 then started up this relationship several years later but who knows.

But I can’t get my head around their posts and their logic about being involved with him. I find their delusion morbidly fascinating and I just find it so strange that they see it as a flex and she in particular seems almost smug that they had this weird relationship with him and that he picked them (rather than the fact he had no other options). They seem to have had this warped sense that when (if) he’d gotten out they were going to play some sort of happy families. But that is as based on interactions with him in a place where he didn’t have anyone to write to or see really other than them whereas on the outside he would probably drop them because he can get that gratification and adoration from anyone. By most accounts he was charming and charismatic and was able to manipulate and maybe this couple were almost like a game to occupy his time, guess we will never know

I’ve read through a few of their posts and q&as and they’ve mentioned that one of thr other members reconnected with him (probably for his own healing) and I really feel like it isn’t their place to be sharing any of that

Can anyone correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t the baby boy in the video meant to be IW son? There was a girl who he groomed who had a baby boy and I remember her posting photos on various forums of IW in bed with the baby. I think she was one of the women also sentenced.

I don’t think it was Watkin’s son but some of the texts between the baby boy’s mum and IW refer to IW as his daddy which I think is where this came from.

At the time I think from memory, she had two children, and the second child was rumoured to be Ian’s, but this is not the child they abused (from the evidence on Ian’s devices). As the women’s identities were concealed from arrest to protect the children, nothing more came out about it for the same reason I guess. It also wouldn’t be in the interests of the child for the judge to do DNA test.

Yeah,I honestly don't think it is legit. There's obviously some elements that are true at a push,like they may have had contact and visited. But the rest I am just not buying it,there's nothing been revealed we don't already know.
