I think it's a bad idea for her to move out with her "DUDE"... I wonder if the mum/dad has said they'll only allow Holly to move out if Emily/"DUDE" goes with her? If this happens, Holly will become a 24/7 gremlin- constantly pulling those silly faces and putting on the strange voice.
Also, Holly and her "DUDE" will constantly be comparing each other's diets, which is not healthy at all.

Essentially she got rejected from one application and then she decided against persuing medicine. I think it was good that she was rejected because she never had a passion for persuing medicine. I think she thought that academically excellent = doctor material. I also remember her saying that she'd want to go into holistic medicine rather than working for the NHS which is a big yikes
this post is from a few pages ago, i don't remember if there's a specific video about holly talking about alternative medicine (please, post it if you find it!) but i think that's why she was rejected for medicine at cambridge (along with the fact that she has no other hobbies, interests, voluntary work or work experience that boosted her application)
she believes that veganism and yoga can cure most illnesses and that's a very problematic point of view for a doctor...one can see that she preaches that veganism is what cured her (still on-going) ED, so i'm curious about what will she pursue with her master in oncology, holistic remedies for cancer and stuff like that? will she be taken seriously by her colleagues at UCL?

EDIT: i found in her own website that she defines herself as "lover of all things holistic health and fitness"

Mmmmm.... recent video seriously suggests her family just do not want her to move out. I get some households get their children to pay rent, but they know Holly is trying to save for tuition fees and moving out.... why not allow her to put her money into her business or towards some of her goals?

The family just seem so thwarted, and the fact the kids pay rent just speaks so loudly as to why Emily hasn’t moved out at 25. THEY CANT! The housing market is expensive now yes, but it doesn’t help when your family is fleecing you of your money too, especially when they seem well off already (their house is worth over £1m). If your parents need the help in paying rent and you have an income then fine, but it seems like Holly’s being held hostage.
I haven't seen the most recent video (having a bit of a break from her content) but I think parents charging some kind of rent/ board is fairly standard if your children are working. If I were still living at home (I'm 25 so around Emily's age?), I would definitely not feel comfortable living there without paying some kind of board or at the very least contributing to utilities. I'm still studying but work and earn enough to support myself. That said in my mind this rent/ board should be below the market rates. No clue what Holly is paying/ what the market rates are like where she lives though?

I think the problem with Holly in particular is that she wouldn't entertain living in a share house with a few people as that's how you'll get the cheapest rent. To me she'd be looking at studio/ one bedroom places which, at least to me in Aus, are way out of reach for most mid-20 year old budgets and incomes.

Looked like she'd had more responses than that when she was doing her pros and cons. Did she only make 4 applications?
I think she did yeah.
To be honest I don’t even know if I’d be interested in seeing her do a masters. It’d just be like her undergraduate and I can’t see her getting involved in the world around her or building a group of people around her either.

I can just see her sitting in her accommodation, doing work, eating her boiled veg. She’d probably join another dance group to try and replicate cambridge. I just think she’s still stuck in her 18 year old mindset and it’s painful to watch

was watching this video and while Holly has matured a bit it’s interesting to see that actually, even when she was 19 going on 20, she literally behaved like a 15 year old. In all seriousness, this video was taken after Holly had already spent a whole year at Cambridge, and she’s acting like a year 9 kid. I feel like now she’s 22, she behaves like a 17/18 year old would usually behave 🤕

Oh, also, Holly if you do read this.... just having fruit and NOTHING else apart from some seeds until ‘lunch’ (which you have at around 3 despite waking up at 5am) IS NOT HEALTHY. You’re doing a lot of intensive exercise throughout the day, plus work. Please just give out the right impression to your audience! Don’t let them think that eating half a melon and drinking a smallish smoothie for 12 hours is normal! ITS NOT!!!!
THIS. She really needs to be more thoughtful about the message she's sending out.

Pahaha just finished the recent video and it’s just hilarious that Holly’s use of the phrase ‘productivity is relative’ just isn’t used anymore😂 it’s so damn obvious she reads these threads.... hey Holly! 👋🏼👋🏼

Oh and another thing related to another video. Holly was discussing her old eating habits etc and saying she’s ‘recovered’ (as she always does), but always says that going vegan is what made her ‘get better’.

This just proves she isn’t recovered. Eating disorders are a mental disorder, and it’s actually got nothing to do with food in the first place. It’s used as a coping mechanism for something else that’s happened or going on in your life. I don’t think Holly knows to this day what actually is the root cause of her eating disorder, and that’s worrying. When you’re in a facility for treatment, that’s one of the first things they try and get you to talk about/come to terms with.

Holly, you might be better than before, but you still need to talk to someone. Even if you don’t address it on your channel, please take time to just sit with your thoughts and really consider and be honest with yourself if you’re okay. Because from what I’ve seen, your channel is a mask, and you use your camera as a coping mechanism to make you feel less alone. Talk to real people and try and get some help.

I agree with you all! But how can you choose a specific field without even doing a day of work experience or shadowing? I’d have more sympathy for her - if she didn’t have the resources and privilege to do so. She’s from one of the best research unis IN THE WORLD. All she had to do was email one of her bloody lecturers. That just shows she’s not passionate about her masters. And I don’t get this I hate labs thing. Does she not know that in the msc she picked, labs can last for almost 12 hours straight? It’s also nothing like undergrad where you work mainly in groups. And at post-grad level, there will be doctors, people who have been in this field for years and other scientists who will all be competing against each other. She might not even be the smartest person in the room anymore. Maybe this is what she needs. To come out her shell and grow.

Sorry but how could Holly possibly want to be a doctor with such stupid views? Imagine going to your GP and them going "you do have an infection, but you know what, eat some garlic instead" like piss off man. For a pair with Cambridge degrees, pretty bloody thick if you ask me - which you didn't, but Jesus Christ that's ridiculous
That's the thing about Cambridge though-you do get a lot of incredibly smart people there, but a lot of them are purely book smart and have no common sense or intelligence about life beyond academia.

Does Holly actually want to do cancer research? She's more than entitled to change her mind at her age, but we've been from medicine to teaching, nutrition to cancer research - just seems like she's settling on something because it's expected that she goes back to university and then when it comes to it, it's just not what she wants so she does something else.

Am I going mad or is that a Percy pig ??
That's definitely one of the veggie Percy Pigs! They have green ears. Bit weird to put one on top of a salad, but honestly this girl's diet is so weird I can't really question it any more.

I used to watch pretty much all of Holly's videos but I've found myself skipping a lot of recent ones because they're ALL "productive day in my life" videos. Snooze.

I seen the latest vlog, how boring! Worried about the reputation of the University? I'd be more worried about doing an MSc in nutrition when you have an eating disorder...
She seems to do a great job in every video of emphasising her tiny little bubble she’s always been in 😰 like, go to the uni because it’s ABROAD and FUN and NEW and EXCITING. ffs, there’s more to life than statistics. There’s also life experience, enjoying yourself, and pushing yourself.

Here's a question for you all. Do you ever think in Holly's current state, she'll ever seek/get professional help? Or do you think she's so high functioning she'll go many more years without?
I know in her video where she talked about having difficulty being in her own head she liked a comment someone posted suggesting therapy, but the question is will she follow through with that? Even talking to someone about mental health will eventually lead to discussions about her restictive diet and obsessive exercise which can only be a good thing
I think in her current mental state, no, she won’t get help. After going vegan she convinced herself she was ‘cured’, without ever actually addressing that an eating disorder, while it affects your eating, is primarily a mental disorder. While there’s less eating issues than when she was 18, the mental issues behind it are still there.

Holly hasn’t worked through any mental/processing issues which arose in her teens. It’s a prolonged issue for sure. I agree with you on the ‘high functioning’ thing. She’s living life, being busy, so why would anything be wrong right? She’s eating, doing exercise etc, great!! But underneath that surface I think she’s still that 17/18 year old girl, struggling to relate to the world around her, unable to really make any deep connections with anyone.

I’m 100% sure she feels pretty lonely... wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. She spoke about having a social life at uni a while back but didn’t actually have a real social life at all. It’s all work work work, and there’s no processing, no wind down. It’ll take something drastic to make her realise she’s not okay. If she’s reading this thread like she did the GG one, she must realise something isn’t right, especially when she’s constantly deleting comments about it all.

Who is she trying to impress with all these productivity videos? It's like she's expecting a hiring manager to slide into her DMs because they're impressed by her ability to wake up at 4:30am.

‘I am grateful for my family for looking out for me, even though somehow I always seem to take offence and interpret their intentions negatively’

If I’m being perfectly honest, from that, the whole idea of Hollys family not talking to her about their concerns isn’t Holly’s family’s issue, but Holly’s.

Seems like she can’t take the concerns in a good way, and actually take them on board. I can imagine her being a pretty defensive person when it comes to her routines and habits. It’s nice to see her family look out for her, but worrying to see how dismissive Holly is of her own reactions.

Saying ‘I somehow’ just sounds like she’s brushing over her actions, and not really thinking through them. Holly, there’s a reason why you behave like that and you need to get to the bottom of it.

I used to really like Holly when she was at cambridge and often found her study with me’s really motivating. But at the same time she doesn’t have a personality apart from being productive or exercising/being vegan. I find the fact that she’s only just started talking about reading books is concerning - as a first class student you should enjoy reading around your subject and reading for fun - I’m only a first year at uni and have two shelves full of books for my degree but holly has none. She also states that she is ignorant about politics/ world issue which pisses me off so much - she has loads of time to educate herself about these things and there are a lot of resources available. She doesn’t seem to have any leisure time like watching tv or reading which i actually find concerning, holly has socialised herself into a routine where anything not “productive” is inherently bad for her. It’s not healthy in the slightest. The last thing about holly is that for black lives matter she posted on instagram stories “we are all racist” which I frankly find very fucking offensive, as a white person with active anti-racist viewpoints I don’t believe in the slightest that everyone is racist. Shows how little she understands the issue, then puts out this message to her followers that is misguided and offensive.

Same - don't get me wrong, I don't think she's bad looking but idk I wouldn't exactly call her conventionally attractive either IMO. Could also be due to her mannerisms etc.
It doesnt help she looks like a pre-pubescent child not a 22 year old women

  • Don't forget: really gross food (sweet potato, unsweetened stewed apple and fruit yoghurt?!)
  • Weird comment about having a two year gap between undergrad and MA. I was under the impression that whilst lots of undergrads do a masters straight away, admissions tend to look favourably on people who have reflected on their degree over a period of time and narrowed it down to the aspects that they really enjoyed/are excited to do research in. Also gives you more time to look at modules, professors, alum, further reading.
I assume the admissions tutors would assume that if you’ve taken a 2 years gap between BA and a masters that you’d have done something at least somewhat related to your subject in that time.... like working as a lab assistant somewhere, or doing fund raisers related to cancer research charities, not just travelling and tutoring?
