We're with StaySure, they had no issue when MrLily was waiting on a referral. Obviously, it depends on the reason. Somethings may require specialist cover.
It's probably just IBS but I just wanted the referral to make sure all my bloods and other tests at the GP were normal so they weren't really bothered about referring anyway. Did it increase the price a lot?

Can you do a tour that would cover Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan? A friend travelled to all 3 and she said she honestly couldn't pick a favourite as each had its own charms.
I’ll have a look into whether something like this is doable on our time schedule. The countries are so vast it’ll be hard to fit everything in though.

Has anyone got recommendations for travel insurance if your waiting for a hospital referral?
I can wait till as I want to get a yearly cover closer to the time I travel. I'm hoping by then I'd have been seen by the hospital. I'm tempted to just cancel my referral anyway but unsure if that would affect insurance if they see in my history I cancelled it. It's a long standing issue and I think I've learnt how to manage it, I just didn't go to the doctor's for years about it, I did mention it years ago to a doctor and she wasn't bothered. Mentioned it again this year and the doctor did a few tests all were fine so he asked me if I still wanted to be referred and I said might as well just to make sure and so I wouldn't have to restart the process but not I wish I just said doesn't matter

Has anyone been to Cologne?
I am going end of July.
I am starting to regret booking there, but it's where my little brother who's 12 wanted to go. He loves Germany and wants to see the cathedral. We're there 4 nights. I think we'll be done in a day. Close cities are Bonn, which looks boring, and Dusseldorff.

I wanted to go to Riga, Latvia as I hear it's lovely in the summer. I always see people go in the winter so they can't fully enjoy the lovely beaches nearby.

Miami. The airport seemed very quiet. Our flight was only about a quarter full.
We're off on our cruise today but will need to do immigration again in San Diego, hopefully that's as smooth.
Have the best time. I would love to go to Miami for a holiday one day. See the city and lie on the beach. It looks like a great city break destination, just a bit far away for a short break!

This has happened to me. If your luggage is delayed they take all your and your luggage details. Then take your destinations and the next thing you know an uber turns up a couple of days later with your luggage.
I just took it in my stride ad I knew getting stressed would not help.
Just make sure you have good insurance and keep all your receipts for everything
Thank you! I had been told by my friend that's what happened with her. Although I am getting the flight out of where I originally land the next day so unsure if they would still?
I'll probably take a few days outfits in my hand luggage and get them washed if I really needed to

Do any of you find the appeal in the central Asian region and countries? I wouldn't mind visiting the "stans" and the heart of the silk road. I've been reading up on that region and it is fascinating with lots of history. Not to mention the region has great scenery. Not sure how simple it is to travel that region though.
Kyrgyzstan is on my list but don't know if I'll ever actually go. A few people I work with have been in the last two years and it looks amazing

We have just booked a river cruise for April, on the Danube. Starting and ending in Budapest and taking in Vienna (overnight) Bratislava, Linz and Durnstein. Really looking forward to it as we are usually ocean cruisers but fancied something different.
Budapest is a fabulous city.
Let us know how your cruise goes. We're ocean cruisers but have looked at a few river cruises and MrLily mentioned one again yesterday. We've done a Nile one but I'm not sure that's comparable to a European river cruise.

What would you do. I'm going to do a group tour I'll have 3 full days beforehand. I was just going to travel the the country and relax for a few days which is still probably what I'll do. But I just thought maybe I could stop somewhere else for them days. The travel days are extra so I'd have 5 days there but just 3 full days without travel. The final destination is Panama. I was looking at Costa Rica maybe

This isn't a holiday question, but more a question regarding cabin crew. Do any of you know how long cabin crew get to spend in the country they travel to? It varies when i google it. It seems that 24 hours is common for medium length travel, such as to the Caribbean or USA.

Has anyone been to Jordan? It's only around 5 hours from London non-stop. I have wanted to visit Wadi Rum and Petra for a while. Apparently you can stay at the desert camps too, which would be a nice experience I'd imagine.
Yes I enjoyed it I went with travel talk tours. I loved Petra but Wadi Run was my least favourite part of the tour
