Thinking about possibly a week in Malta next year. Main things that put me off is lack of beaches and it seems very built up but OH really wants to go.

Sell it to me, or is my assessment accurate?

currently researching Thailand for Jan 23 , hopefully staying for a month. I have been to Thailand many times over the years but since Covid I think it may be a good idea to stick with the more commercialised areas which I probably would have avoided before as I feel there will be more footfall, businesses open etc... so possibly Phuket , I haven't been there since 2001 !

Don’t know what to do. I want to go to the Philippines. But I think I’ll have to wait until 2024, but seems so far away. I just don’t think I’ll have saved enough to go at the start of next year. I could use savings to go then but I was trying to avoid that, although I guess it doesn’t make much difference doing that and then saving what I was going to use for the trip to make it up.
I can’t go end of 2023 as I have a UK holiday planned with my friend end of November. The only option would to be to go over Christmas but it would mean I’d be flying back on the 31st December and I’m guessing flights/hotel would cost more around that time.
I also have a holiday booked for the start of May so I’d love to go between august-November but that’s a bad time to visit the Philippines.
I’m lucky I can go on a few holidays. I mean I work I lot of overtime to afford them. To me holidays/traveling is important as I originally wanted to travel for a year but covid so now I plan to do as many shorter holidays as possible. I can get 3 weeks off work a few times a year so hopefully some will be 3 week long holidays like I plan to with the Philippines. My plan is to finish my night shift Monday morning and get the first flight I can to maximise my time there and then fly back the Sunday night and arrive home Monday morning for my night shift the Monday night. And just hope my flight isn’t delayed.

Will you be staying in one place or traveling around?

Sorry I somehow posted that in completely the wrong thread  But maybe I'll find a boyfriend to go on holiday with next year!
Slighty ot but kind of fitting:
a friend of mine went away with a guy she met on Bumble a week before! His friend ditched so he had plane tickets, rental, hotel and some activities booked already and she filled in. She had the best week and they briefly dated but decided to just stay friends.

Love it - got engaged there, been 3/4 times and my sister is getting married there next year.

there’s so much to see - Gozo, Camino, a few rocky beaches dotted around. We spent a week there last summer - did a couple of days in st Julian’s, 4 days in Gozo(some hiking, some chilling) and then 2 more days in st Julian’s.

people are so friendly too

My airline changed my flight time again. I now have a 1hour 15mins layover rather than 2hour 15mins. It’s in Istanbul, will this be enough time? And for them to transfer my bag, or shall I try and fit it all in a hand luggage sized bag?

OK, that's sounding better! I guess the other thing that puts me off a built is how built up it seems, is it as bad as it seems?

Now they cancelled my flight 😭 still have my flight from manchetser from Istanbul but they’ve cancelled my Istanbul to Amman flight

Has anyone ever appealed a Ryanair compensation claim decision? My claim was rejected as they say the 5 hour delay was a result of a closure of the airport, which seems like a BS excuse considering no other flights out at the same time were delayed??

Ok turns out they hadn’t it was just them saying it was cancelled due to the flight time change but they hadn’t put the new flight on it. Phoned up flightcatchers who told me it was just to the time change. I questioned only have 40min layover so they offered me an earlier flight so now I have a 1.5 hour layover which I’m hoping will be ok!

Has anyone travelled to Dubai recently? Finding mixed messages about the testing to enter situation and just wondered if anyone had any first hand experience of going through the airport.

I’m due to go in a couple of weeks. From what I can tell it depends on your vaccination status

Anyone flown from Stansted recently? Just wondering what to expect regarding security times. I’ve also seen complaints on Twitter that the car park shuttle has been unreliable lately 😖

I went end of June and the security was horrendous. Fast track was definitely worth it.

The car park shuttle bus has also been a nightmare for people, with buses not turning up and therefore missing their flight. Thete are two car parks that you can walk to the terminal from, green and blue. So if you are able to I would suggest them.

Although I don't know if things have improved since June
