A boy at school's dad disappeared. Turns out he just walked away from his life and went and lived somewhere else and was claiming benefits at his new address. I find that more shocking than if something had happened to him.

Know a few people who've been reported missing in Facebook but they've turned up again.

My best friend at school moved to Australia when we were 14. A week later she was stabbed to death by a 15 year old boy 😭

Didn’t know him but one night we was in the front room with my dad. And we heard a man shouting help me he’s killing me, someone bleeping help me please. So my dad looked out the window couldn’t see nothing and just closed the window. Next morning there’s a white tent up and a man was found stabbed to death. We heard him begging for help. It still creeps me out now I was only little.
But that estate I grew up on, it was normal to hear things like that at night.
The man who done it was nicked and turned out my mums name was on this list of people he wanted to kill. My mum was selling weed at the time unbeknownst to us we was kids.

A friend of a family member was murdered in 2000. The wrong man was sent down and was exonorated by a BBC documentary a decade later! Then advances in DNA caught the real murderer.

It was a massive headfuck. I was a young teenager at the time but her and her friend were all 18/19 and it massively changed their lives forever. Some went on to great things because of it (police force etc), some turned into alcoholics. People don't think how it affects their friendship groups.

Also, we all believed for like 10yrs the wrong guy did it!!!! Just goes to show if you are fed certain evidence from the police and hidden from some you can come to the wrong conclusion.

Meredith Kercher was one of my daughters' best friend at school. I still have photos of her at birthday parties in albums here and have never got over the vile press accounts of what happened to her and the subsequent descriptions of Amanda Knox.
I followed that case so closely, we were in Perugia only a couple of weeks afterwards. Everyone always forgets Meredith. Always.

Some girl my sister knew was murdered their freshman year of HS (13-14) by her ex boyfriend who did it because he wanted to prove his love to his new gf who was the mastermind behind it all. They lured her outside her house in the snow and he stabbed her a bunch of times. They were still on trial by the time I got to HS and are rotting in jail now I think.

Yes, two (I know!).
  1. My best friend's mother didn't collect her from school one day (we were about eight). The official story was that she "chose" to go missing, but the police wouldn't reveal anything other than that. They must have had some evidence to reach that conclusion. But her husband, family and friends were all adamant that she would never have left voluntarily as she truly was very happy.
  2. A woman I worked with was murdered in a case of mistaken identity. She looked very similar to the ex-girlfriend of her killer, who hadn't been out of jail for long. It was so, so tragic. A man she was with tried to save her and couldn't; he ended up taking his life a year or two later.

I feel like we all live in the same area because I know that story too!
Bread factory now turned into apartments..?
That's the one. I heard conflicting stories on that. That the boy went in to get a football and the roof caved in but apparently in one report I read that was made up by one of his friends there to cover up that they were trespassing and worried about getting in trouble with the police when interviewed. Either way it was really sad, especially that the parents had to turn off his life support. Way too young. 😔

I didn't know the victim(s) but I used to work with a guy who killed his toddler daughter and tried to kill his son a few years later. It was the 2nd attack that prompted an investigation into the girl's death, as to that point he'd got away with it.

He was part of a group of around 5 of us who used to go for lunch every day.

I hadn't worked with him for around 8 years before he was jailed.

None at all! Just a normal guy. He did borrow a Jenna Jameson porn DVD from me once and never returned it. That annoyed me.
that's not surprising is it? someone like that is good at hiding that part of themselves

No surprise. The fact he was able to "get away" with the murder for a few years and was only caught because he tried again shows that.

My mum’s colleague went missing. Her husband was a suspect but said he had not been to collect her from work as normal. However, on the night the lady went missing, my mum had stood and spoken to him as she was leaving and he said he was waiting for his wife. She was able to place him at the scene. I think he went to prison for her murder. His son plays football for Portugal now.
On a side note- my mum was told by police not to leave town in case they wanted to talk to her again. She didn’t listen and flew to Dublin. Had just arrived and went to for a wonder and stumbled straight into an armed robbery.
