Kate gets 95% off discount cards apparently.
Wow. I'm a fan of the Royals but I'm aware the level of privilege is ridiculous... 95% off or get everything for free- I don't know whether to laugh or cry

Thing is, they just can't win. Either they are being called out for spending obscene amounts on clothes or they are called out for getting massive discounts.

Hollywood stars get freebies all the time despite their massive wealth. Even a nonentity like Sam Faiers manages to blag a constant free wardrobe for her children (then rips off the designers for her own clothing line).

Yeah but admittedly Hollywood stars are actors - they DO something, some of them pretty well at that.
And a lot of acting and time on film sets is far from glamourous. Not that they aren’t incredibly well compensated- and the freebies they get are ridiculous too. Award show goody bags for instance which can be thousands of dollars worth of products. But still, it’s not quite the same thing.

Tbh, every day I believe the surrogacy rumours more and more! I mean, first she doesn't want to be photographed after having given birth, now snubbing the Queen's doctors?! No wonder her bump was dancing, it's fake! This comment really cracked me up! [emoji1787][emoji1787]

Oh heavens no! I'm all for having things a less stressful way or where I feel most comfortable but how does she even have a problem with this?!? If it were me, ROLL ON The Queen's Team!

Sometimes I REALLY don't understand why the Queen approved of not only their marriage but her doing so many unorthodox and at times, very disrespectful things. If what Diana did was wrong... that makes Meghan look like a total heathen/ near criminal lol, just makes no sense. I understand adapting and changing with the times but not this much so.

I'm glad my eyes have been opened here. I didn't like MM at first, should have stuck with my gut, grew to like her more than Kate which I think was just a PR trick, and now I feel that she's really a wild person ( not in a good way) and that she's out for herself a lot more with little respect for her new family.

I can well believe Meghan is a social climber and I'm not entirely sure how genuine she is with her humanitarian projects but either way, I'm pleased the Grenfell victims were helped by her getting involved- I can imagine they would have otherwise been ignored. That cook book won't bring back their loved ones but I hope it helped to rebuild their lives somehow.

My view is Harry wanted what Wills had - wife and children and seemed in a rush to find somebody who would fulfil that role. He seems to enjoy the privaleges of being royal but not the reality of it.
I’d never heard of her before she was linked to him. She has always appeared smug, as if well aware he loved her and that she had power over him because of it.
Who knows though?
They’re both independently wealthy so I’m not fussed over how much she spends as long as it’s not being funded by the taxpayer.

Bloody hell, they're vile!
I hate stories like this, I work in security and on paper this looks like a security decision with the baby coming. The palace will not confirm this either for obvious reasons.

Also as an employee you are not entitled to free parking, my employer has done the same 😴

It states "Windsor Castle staff" so if they work at the castle then the new car park is actually closer to their place of work!

By the look of it the staff are complaining that it's further to walk to access their leisure activities, not their place of work.

Despite the screaming headline, they state it wasn't the decision of Meghan or Harry.

Typical Daily Wail/Sun stirring bullshit.

This article may be bullshit, but it's obvious they don't treat their employees respectfully as I've honestly lost count on many have quit since the wedding!

Same happened with Diana and Kate. Some people don't like change.

Employees for the royal family quit all the time. Apologies for the sites linked.

Now I'd like to add a disclaimer as I appreciate I may be coming across as overly defensive re: MM in my posts.

I'm not a Royalist, I'm a realist. I appreciate that the royal family is an anachronism and their wealth is deeply offensive to the average person.

When I was younger I was very anti-royal, a member of the Socialist Workers Party and had the attitude of 'eat the rich'. Over time I realised that it isn't that simple when it comes to the royal family. They bring in a huge amount of income for the country in terms of tourism which in turn provides money for the Treasury, employment for many people and income for local businesses. Look at how many people tuned in worldwide for the various royal weddings. For all the money we pay out for the royals, they bring in more in return. With Brexit looming the UK needs all the money it can get from the service industry and the royals are part of that. No fucker is coming to the UK for Madam Tussauds or Alton Towers (or the weather).

Secondly, as a feminist, I can't stand by and watch the press repeatedly tear down women the way they have done with MM and Kate Middleton simply for daring to marry into the royal family. They were turning on Diana before her untimely death and then turned her into a saint, conveniently forgetting how nasty they'd previously been.

I've never seen any actual evidence of MM being an unpleasant person. Shite clickbait press reports, unfounded rumours and bitchy comments from her fame-hungry half-sister don't cut it with me.

No-one will ever convince me Megan would have given Harry the idiot the time of day if he was just some bloke with an office job. If people can't see through the bad acting and want to believe in the PR fairytale there's no rational conversation to be had. And duck using "feminism" to defend someone who social climbed her way up some rich guy's dick.

Marrying someone and as a consequence losing the right to speak out for social/political issues is exactly the opposite of feminism.

As I feminist I would never put my marital status over freedom of speech.

She knew what she was marrying into, she choose her position and status in society over feminism.

"social climbed her way up some rich guy's dick."

Wow, there's quite some vitriol in your post about someone you, presumably, don't actually know - unless that's you Sammy?

Maybe, just maybe, she married him because she actually loves him. Stranger things have happened. Were Kate or Diana accused of social climbing up a rich guy's dick? I can't remember. I won't deny, however, that him being a prince will undoubtedly put extra stars in in the eyes of a lot of women who meet him so maybe that was the case with Meghan too.

Marrying into the royal family certainly removes a lot of freedom to speak out about certain issues. Conversely it also adds weight to being able to speak out and raise the profile of others. Personally I wouldn't sacrifice any of my freedom for a life in the royal family but plenty of women have over the years; it's the price you pay for marrying into 'the firm'.

We all have our opinion of why she married him but none of us actually know. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and I guess that time will tell whether the marriage is genuine (from her perspective) or whether she's just a cynical social climber.

Well Diana was far from a commoner, she was from nobility and therefore a “suitable” wife for Charles. She didn’t need to social climb.

And the Kate, well there was a much longer courting period between her and Will, they went to University together, people saw their relationship develop for years before they got engaged and married, whereas Harry and Meghan came seemingly out of nowhere.

It's not often I think Piers may be right about something but I wonder if he'd be going on about this as much as he has been if he hadn't been ghosted by her (can't blame him though, I'd feel salty about that too).
