Right, especially as Meghan's gripe with Kate was that she wasn't being understanding given the situation and "what happened with my dad". Anyone else think that Scobie’s support of the Harkles has diminished since he’s witnessed the overwhelming support The Royal Family are getting from the nation at present.

I do think the current national support re Prince Philip is a way for the Brits to show the world exactly what we think of the Oprah interview.
We may moan about The Royal Family, but they are OUR Royal Family so don’t slag them off to the rest of the world.

The Duke of Sussex signed off his tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh with the slightly odd phrase “per mare per terram”.

Those with a military interest will have picked up on the significance. But does the use of the phrase send more than one message?

The Royal Marines motto “per mare per terram” (“by sea, by land”) could have been used to signify Prince Harry's role as Captain General of the Royal Marines, a post he inherited from Prince Philip.

In this regard – notwithstanding the opaque nature of this formal role now he has stepped back from Royal duties – it is a gentle nod to his grandfather and his military service.

However, it is a military custom in much of the US armed forces to sign off letters, speeches and even individual social interactions with a unit motto.
Members of the US Marine Corps, for example, sign off with the words "semper fi" (short for Semper Fidelis, Latin for “always faithful”).
This more personal sign off is offered as a mark of respect, both from the individual to his or her unit, and towards the person or group being addressed.

This custom is not practised in the British armed forces.

I once watched a British Brigade Commander (formerly the Commanding Officer of 2PARA – the unit with a light blue Brigade “flash”, the name given to the recognition badge worn by soldiers on their combat uniforms) respond to an American entreaty of Semper Fi by replying with “True Blue” (as in True Blue 2 PARA).

To be fair, the Brigadier said it with a twinkle in his eye as we – the Brigade staff – rolled ours. However, the US Officer was impressed and felt honoured, which is the whole point of such exchanges.

Prince Harry's peculiarly American sign off perhaps says more about the direction of his future career than his, or his grandfather's, previous one.

I don’t think any of them will wear uniform on Saturday. I think Saturday will be very much a family service.

I wonder if Harry will ask how he too can be involved in escorting the queen in some of her duties and later supporting Charles- he’ll get his half in half out but without the titles. MAybe this would suit both parties. Harry gets to support his family and visit often and the RF get rid of negative PR of being racist & uncaring.

Yep, all six of us tested positive last week. Anyone who says it's a hoax can come around to ours and see how much of a hoax it is. We all feel absolutely rotten, but thankfully none of us have had to go to hospital with it.

Hope you all get better soon, if any of you feel even worse after 8 days from first symptoms, do seek more help immediately. My parents both had it a few weeks ago, Dad started improving, and then on day 8 went downhill again (thankfully was given antibiotics as had a secondary, bacterial lung infection by then, steroids and also a heparin injection, didn't need to stay in hospital. They don't live in the UK, so treatment methods are a bit different to here.

Again this comes down to the consent of the British Public. Harry and Meghan can be rehabilitated back into the family but in my opinion they cnnot and should not ever have any official duties as the RF again, that ship has sailed for the vast silent majority of the British Public and Meghan needs to understand that. She shat on the Country, not just the RF and for that she can duck off.

What a great post and how amazing is PP to give Catherine that advice and to understand the position that she now has (and for Catherine to listen and take the advice). Imagine telling MM this! The issue is that Harry cant use or be married to someone, who uses the RF and the fame and influence of the RF to sell........tat.

He cant both support the Queen and then use his title to get money or sponsorship for things that the British RF are unlikely to endorse!
eg Better Up snake oil , counselling services. Or Meghans organic oat free latte mix.
Or Netflix and their constant stream of ''The Crown'' Diana in her own words etc etc...

If Harry wants to be half in and half out...then he has to respect the advice of the Crown and their advisors!!
