I also can’t believe she thought that would be fun content to watch?!
Haha that video came up in my recommended when my bf and I were looking for something to watch together and he was like “who the hell would want to watch that?!” I had to agree with him 😂

I haven’t watched her years (I stopped taking her opinions on sex ed seriously after she admitted that she didn’t know any of the phases of the female reproductive cycle or that any of them mattered when it came to getting pregnant) but I randomly got curious and looked at her channel.

She seems to be struggling with staying relevant or maintaining a following and I think the big thing is that she hasn’t adapted to YouTubes changing taste. I have a feeling she doesn’t watch YouTube that much or find new creators because she’s very stuck in the 2010s format.

And her thumbnails show that millennial blandness. Always with a big fake smile with a mundane title.
“I TRIED MARMALADE FOR THE FIRST TIME😃🤨” Bland colours, slow paced. It only works like that if you’re a mega star and there’s much less content on YouTube - which is how it was years ago.

It’s dated and boring.

The youtube videos that I watch usually have collages or aesthetic images at the thumbnail. Or something genuinely candid.

If she got more raw and real and not so “🤪😁😄😃😄😁😃😆😃😂😅” all the time, it might actually grow into something genuine. Also she’s not cosy to watch and that’s a big factor in “I’m a mum and watch me live my normal life” content.

she didn't know? that's genuinely so bizarre.... how can someone say they're a sex ed creator and then say that? they're not even hard words to memorise...

It was in one of her TTC videos where she was shocked that you could only get pregnant in a certain window of your cycle, ovulation. And then said “oh and there’s other phases of the cycle that the doctor mentioned but I can’t even remember them. So much more complicated than I thought”

And I was like … weren’t you claiming to be an educator on sexual health and expression? How can you not know this?

It’s follicular, ovulation, luteal and menstrual. Not that hard, Hannah.

You've just reminded me of that whole section of one of her early trying to conceive videos where she was using the ovulation tests wrong because she hadn't bothered to read the instructions. Like surely if you buy something like that you would read the instructions?

I just watched her vegetarian video and the gusto section was infuriating. I’m not a picky eater so I don’t fully get where she is coming from tbh, but I understand hating mushrooms, disliking chunky veg. But then it also had to be under 30mins, and half the ones that fit all her criteria she called “too boring”? Like c’mon now. If you hate the majority of vegetables and don’t want to spend any time cooking, you CANNOT complain that the remaining recipes are boring.

It’s giving spoilt child vibes! What does she expect to teach her son as well? Just eat what you like? It’s all an oxymoron imo

I'm a SUPER picky eater, even in adulthood, but I feel like at a certain point you hit an age where you realize you need to start cooking + eating veggies. Maybe it's just me because i'm not rich, but I almost eat exclusively home cooked meals now, and I hate cooking. It's just healthier for people who have dietary restrictions (like me) and who are picky!
I always find it a little surprising when people who create content online don't cook -- like, how much money are you making? Lol

I recently fell down a rabbit hole of trying to figure out how much youtubers get paid, and while I don't have specifics and don't WANT specifics because it's not really my business, it seems like Hannah gets paid relatively well. At least a couple grand a month from ads across both channels, it seems. And that's just the ads -- if she's taking on sponsorships (idk i haven't seen her videos much recently tbh), then she could be making like 5K-10K a month!

Oh, Hannah gives us a lovely breakdown of her income every year and I do some (probably wildly inaccurate) sums using her Patreon numbers - inaccurate hopefully because over the last three years, depending on how many Patreons are paying max vs min, it's coming out as anything from £12,500 a month all the way up to £103K a month.

Has Hannah always been in a fairly committed relationship with someone or has she had a promiscious etc. dating background?

Just interested in her sex ed work - did it come from a background of sleeping around, multiple partners in short spaces or time, dating or maybe sex communities, or has she always been fairly vanilla?

No judgement either way.

I think she was like a lot of YouTube sex ed people in that she just had normal boyfriends and maybe an occasional casual thing but she saw herself as a promiscuous sex kitten like Samantha Jones or something.

It was literally just “I like having sex and like talking about it … that makes me qualified to talk about it as an expert and give information and advice despite having no training or qualifications”

I guess this is telling of the time.she (and not just her of course) started on YouTube in which that was possible tk launch a successful channel

I still don't understand why not being able to have another baby would be "devastating" when she already has one

I'm more shocked about how candidly she talked about this possibility. Tucked between "i'm a small business owner" and forced hospital selfies. Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely her right to talk about her health, just the presentation of it all is so weird?

I think it must be really sad/hard to know that growing your family is totally over as an era for you? I hope it goes well for her

I think this is a bit of a shortsighted take... I don't have any kids nor do I particularly want any but I can understand why having to say goodbye to the future you'd planned with a larger family would be really upsetting

Yeah I thought this was bizarre. Like she'd planned out this "little wins" series and then just shoehorned this in?
