😂love this thread! I’ll be keeping a few of these tips!

for me it’s a cry whilst sitting in the shower tray, praying to the Uber driver delivering my McDonald’s quarter pounder that my hangover might disappear.
in all honesty, it’s the nap carbs and Diet Coke that will get me through the day.Just.

Glass of water inbetween each drink (becomes harder the more you drink as you forget but I try). Pint of water and a lucozade sport before bed. Another lucozade sport, ton of water and paracetamol when you wake up. Something stodgy for breakfast like scrambled eggs on toast helps too

I’ve tried so many things over the years including a lot of the ones mentioned on this thread. I used to get terrible hangovers, I vomited so much one day I ended up with a gum infection 🙈 my best advice is 100% Rowntrees fruit pastille ice lollies (needs to be those ones) I swear they are an absolute miracle. I think because when I’m hungover I get so dehydrated and try to glug down water etc and I drink it so fast I feel sick, whereas I think the ice lolly just slowly rehydrates you? I don’t know but it bloody works! I always make sure I have them in my freezer before a night of drinking now

My hangover scale

Lethal hangover: No cure, lie in bed all day, frequent trips to the bathroom to vomit. Can't even eat.

Heavy Hangover: Probably sleep late, also not eat until well into the afternoon. Won't enjoy it that much but it helps a few hours later.

Medium Hangover: Up close to the usual wake up time. Feel a bit misty eyed but can function normally. Eat something full of grease then pretty much right as rain.

Light Hangover: Enjoy the day, and get back on it if not at work and the opportunity arises.

This is bang on for me.

Generally speaking I sit between a one and a two. A two these days feels like I have got off lightly haha. There are some great suggestions on this thread.
I genuinely envy those who can just get up and get on with it. It’s so weird how some people get it so bad, I’ve never really understood it. My husband is one of those people and it’s sooooo annoying!

I kid you not it’s taken me a full 10
Days to get over my birthday hangover - which consisted of two bottles of white Zinfandel and half a bottle of Prosecco. I rarely drink, and it’s been years since I’ve drank that much in one sitting. Planning on drinking again over the jubilee weekend but will be steering clear of wine, it really fucked me up 😂

I have had many hangovers in my life but I can't face having one now, I get very depressed after a hangover for about a week (I am on a moderate dose of daily antidepressants). Has anyone else with existing MH problems experienced this?
I used to get this if I drank excessively (Would get carried I guess hence it kept happening), cheap vodka was the main culprit though. It made me feel like the world was ending, life wasn’t worth it. I’d tell myself ‘it’s just the alcohol, it’ll be ok in 3 days’ but feel like I needed to run away, get to a nunnery, escape because I’d be gripped by beer fear. Felt I couldn’t show my face again even if I hadn’t done anything that bad and if I had embarrassed myself, well, black hole of self loathing.

I wondered if i’d been spiked on occasion
With those ‘come downs’ because it was abnormal but maybe that’s just excessive booze for you.

Anyway, full fat coke, Powerade or cheap milkshake used to be the kiddie for ’normal’ hangovers but these days nothing can help but sleep.

My top tip (which is actually something most sensible people would do anyway haha) is to ease yourself back into drinking. My first night out was 2 months after my baby was born and I went to a bottomless brunch. We ended up out from midday til 11pm and I literally thought I was going to die the next day 😂

After my friend gave birth she came out with me and she was SLAUGHTERED haha bless her she had to be carried home and she only had 2 pints of coors and a shot of tequila rose. She said the hangover was the worst she has ever experienced and said she would never do it again. The child is 3 now and she hasn’t been out drinking since lol! So good luck 🤞🤣

Interesting!
£30 for 15 doses seems reasonable for no hangover but I wonder if it actually works

I just cant see how putting all that toxin into your body can be blocked 😂 surely a hangover is your body trying to recover.

Id still be willing to try it though.

I have realised most my hangover symptoms aren't drink induced at all. It is the lack of sleep, breaking from routine and eating/drinking late that affects me.

I went to see adele on Saturday. I didn't drink as I had to drive to London due to train strikes. I ended up getting a macdonalds on the way home (around midnight) and went to bed about 1.30am.

On Sunday, despite not waking up until 9.30 so having over 7 hours sleep, I felt like tit. Headache, body aches, sicky all my usual hangover symptoms! And I hadn't had a single drink 😭

I wish this were the case for me but alcohol definitely fucks my system up. Even 2 glasses of wine at 5pm and an early bed and I can wake up rough.

However I will say that being exhausted and late nights can definitely mimic hangover symptoms too. So combine alcohol and all the other crap, late nights, less sleep and its like a melting pot of how tit will I feel.

Alcohol is just so unpredictable 😫

Sometimes I can drink ALL night and get no hangover. I was recently at a 6 day festival abroad and drank for 6 nights and was only going to bed at 7am. I only had a hangover (although I did scran a load of carbs and drink a litre of before going to sleep but still!)

At home I can have 1 glass of wine and feel rough 🤣

Last year I went to the pub with my friend and had 3 aperol spritz and a double gin. Not that much in the grand scheme of things but the next day I was throwing up ALL day 😂

I just don't know 😂😂

I'm on day 2 of my hangover 😫
I went to sleep on Sunday morning at 4.30, woke up at 5.30 and tried everything to get back to sleep but nothing worked.

I'm never sick but yesterday I spent the day with my head in the toilet and today I've sat crying every 5 minutes while trying to work.

Normally I can get a shower, have a mcdonalds and get on with my life. These past 2 days I've wanted to world to swallow me up.

What did you drink? I find that if I drink wine my hangovers are usually manageable but if I drinks spirits I’m a write off

This is interesting! I haven't really had a hangover for a year or so as I have no social life atm :ROFLMAO: but mine is always a fizzy drink like sprite and something spicy, making a tortilla wrap at home if I am capable, or nandos takeaway if not!
The best thing though is to try and drink a load of water before you go to sleep, if you can remember and don't just spill it all over your bedside table :ROFLMAO:

I actually find now when I do drink as my sleep goes all fucked up anyway to just sip sip sip and sip at water all night and by the time I eventually do get up I’m not that bad 🤣 saying that I do rarely drink now but I’m always more tired than anything. I’m not very sociable so when I do socialise it drains me 🤣
