I would consider her ignoring all of Riley’s issues/peculiarities/red flags and not getting her support much sooner as “purposely”. I would say the same thing about allowing her to get to starvation mode.
We always have a choice, and Grecian repeatedly chooses herself and her social media over her children.

I feel sick just from reading the updates on here. I refuse to look at her page. I will not contribute towards the clicks and viewing statistics that her mother clearly prioritises over her daughter's privacy and wellbeing. It's actually disgusting. Poor little Riley.

Is this the Dunning-Kruger effect ? I’m so frustrated that Grecian has not read the book “Special” yet. It is such an amazing read in those early days of diagnosis. How can she just be finding out about it?

She’s a self appointed expert in a parenting community that does not gatekeep. Nor does she really try to engage. I haven’t listened to her podcast, I cannot bring myself to do so. But I’m so frustrated that she is trying this influencer grift and using “parent of disabled child” as her platform when she is so new to it.

As a parent of a disabled child you have a responsibility to engage, read and learn from disability advocates themselves. Learn perspectives, and the nuances. And remember that your role as parent is always secondary to your child (like all parents really). It’s not about you. And your child’s right to privacy especially with their medical history is fundamental.

Also there are some really wonderful parents already creating engagement, encouraging discussions amongst parents and the roles they play balancing advocacy, privacy etc. Mel Demitt author of special is one, too peas podcast and their fb group is another. Yet old love is out here having missed the first 4 years of early intervention grifting smoothie cups for her nil by mouth kiddo

She’s a pathological liar. She only started to bother taking Riley to appointments when she started school and they were shocked by how little support she’d had to date. The poor kid was so obviously malnourished and physically and intellectually disabled…yet had no referrals to specialists other than the year post prem hospital checks…I remember Grecian mentioning it was hard to make bookings for particular specialists that were advised and hospitals “losing” her bookings..but then she never followed up or advocated for her child until the miracle healing baby stopped filling her medical needs fetish

Why is it such a shock to her? I mean compared to her twin yes she looks like a 2 year old. She fits into the ‘babies’ jumper. Something is seriously wrong.

It is so telling that the kid wants her dad - i.e the parent who doesn’t film her endlessly and make her perform for photos. I have two girls and they are mummy’s girls to the max when they’re sick, I think most are. The poor kid knows she can catch a break with her dad.

And now the baby is in hospital. Exciting week for top deck!

She needs to get off Instagram and look after her kids. I have been to hospital with my children many times over the years and not once have I taken a photo or video and shared it online. Not even to my family and friends. Any and all updates get sent via text message when I have a chance, or after the fact.
I hate that social media has led to so many children being used for content and attention, especially when they are sick or upset or in situations you wouldn’t normally share with strangers (like bathing and toileting). You can tell that Grecian sees everything as an Instagram story or post and is never actually living in the moment. It’s all about what to share next.
I hate influencers.
