I liked the idea of Orla’s but she obviously hadn’t practised it. Maybe they just ran out of time and energy by the end of the series.

yeah there was no need for it, just seemed like showing off and being a 'pick me'.

I'm glad Caz won, she did the most in the transformation, and her ribcage dress was great.
I thought she had been like that for the last few programmes.

As someone who literally can’t sew a button on, I’ve been quite underwhelmed this series. For those that actually have an eye for these things, was the overall standard and competency lower than previous series?

I'm delighted for Caz as despite her bias dress struggles the other 2 challenges were bang on the money. I was definitely smiling when she won.

I do like the montage at the end seeing who stays in touch or how they're progressing in general.

When is the pottery showdown & is the wood working programme still a thing 😁

Rightful winner by streets. I liked what she was producing throughout. Loved her pink hair in the update.

Orla really got on my nerves this ep and she hadn’t before. Bit over excited with herself and her sibling.

Caz's made to measure was fab, the right mix of creativity, interpreting the brief and technical skill. The illusion bit of Yasmin's dress worked really well and I liked the design, but it wasn't quite as well sewn. Orla shot herself in the foot trying to make too much of a statement. That dress looked like "death by gay scaffolding poles".

My Mum and I both watch and whatsapp each other throughout, as it airs. Most weeks we do say "why didn't they practice their made to measure outfits at home?!" They often seem to be 'caught unawares' by some aspect of their own planned designs and sometimes the voice over says they can practice this at home, they chose their own fabric, etc, and then they make massive mistakes (not necessarily this week, but in the past, it's happened a lot).

Orla first irritated me last week (bouncing around in the plus fours challenge constantly 'wow this is so easy! I'm loving this!' whilst she could see others were struggling).
This week she was about the same.

If I'm being completely fair, Orla is 19. So quite possibly just excitement.

I think the standards are so much higher in the earlier series, more about sewing, less about design, and making actual clothes in the transformation rather than the horrors now.

The transformation wants dropping - it’s an appalling use of functional items and nothing that comes out of it looks remotely impressive or wearable. All 3 looked gash yesterday - the bar is best of a bad bunch isn’t it?

The transformation is a reckless waste of resources like you said. It pains me sometimes to see such destruction to often totally wearable or useful items.
What they ought to do is only use items that are already damaged, holey, bleach stained, shrunk etc. Work with that!

(They would probably destroy OK items in advance)

Instead of using serviceable items they should definitely get hold of charity shop rejects, stuff the chazzas cant sell and get the sewers to turn it into something lovely. Not even theme it, just to make a wearable item out of clothing thats destined for the dump

I totally misread this as use stuff that charity shops can’t sell and get from sewers (as in underground waste pipes) and was thinking that would be really unpleasant 😂

Well for most weeks I wanted Orla to win and then she went and spoilt it last week. This week she had my toes curling, her sibling was even more annoying. I think the right sewer won on the night.

It's mostly awful isn't it? Esme and Patrick were looking at the most beautiful white sheer embroidered blouse and explaining how it could look better 'transformed' 🤦‍♀️
And the spotty black dress Yasmin cut up was lovely - just needed a black slip underneath.
I'll never get over them massacring those lovely velvet theatre curtains to turn them into unwearable tat.
