Ahhh love Sophie. Very funny and warm.

Sara just never seems to connect with the contests ever.

There are also countless 'straw man' Halloween costumes that he used/took inspiration from. It's a shame that he lied about his sewing expertise. Can you remember what magazine you read that in?
I agree about the straw man costume, I don’t think there was much to it and it definitely didn’t deserve to share garment of the week with orla!
I’m pretty sure it was Simply Sewing (or maybe Love Sewing) from a few months back (just before this series started).

Yay I love Sophie. Never really liked Sara. For me the best one was Joe.
I loved Joe too. I was disappointed when he was announced as presenter as I didn't like him beforehand. I ended up really liking him, he was well suited to it.

I think Sophie is such a good choice. Tbh I was getting cheesed off with this 'comedian as presenter' thing all these shows seem to have now, but this will be good I think.
She's the right combination of extremely funny but a bit cosy (if that makes sense?). And obviously loves her clothes.

This year's sewing bee has been a bit meh for me but now I'm glad that Kit went out before the final and there's a new presenter incoming 👐

Now I'd just like them to change the transformation challenge back to a more technical sewing challenge e.g. change this zip, shorten the body of this dress etc. Things that actual sewers do instead of always being about changing one clothes into another less wearable thing.

I think the transformation challenge is to promote a bit of sustainability though which I like the idea of, but the outfits they make always look unwearable and the judges must know who’s is who’s by this point as they all definitely have a “style” they go to

Yeah I guess you can say the same for repairing zips and altering clothes too. Makes less random scrap wastage too.

Yes with the theatre curtain transformation challenge there must have been a lot of scrap waste. Beautiful huge velvet curtains cut down to make very small outfits (in some cases).
Alterations would be a interesting challenge. Eg - off the top of my head - maternity dresses changed into non maternity outfits.

Yes and often the items look completely reusable, but can't be reused once they're chopped up. Be more interesting if they have to transform holey, bobby, threadbare stuff!

I know he came across as smug but I really feel for Kit. He did so well every week and seemed a shoe-in for the final and then he had one bad week and it’s all over, the week before the final. That must feel awful. Also he was very popular with the other contestants so I think the smugness may have been partly due to how it was edited.

I actually didn't mind him most of the time 😖
He was undeniably one of the better sewers but possibly let early success go to his head?
Tbh I found Orla more irritating this week especially in the plus fours challenge. Constantly chirping up with 'I'm loving this' 'this is going really well for me' 'this is so much fun' when she could see some of the others were struggling. Now that was smug.

I agree but unfortunatly that is why everyone goes home - they were the worse that week. I did feel bad for him but it does make the final more interesting as I was sure he was going to win. It is between Yasmin and Orla now. Caz is lucky to be there.

I wonder why Kit was so of his game last week?

I feel a little for Kit as it must hurt being eliminated right before the final after being on top for so long, but I was glad he was shot back down to earth coming last in the pattern challenge after claiming he could make them without the pattern. His face was a picture.

Orla has really come into her own now, I hope she wins.
