Grace is such a breath of fresh air.
yeh, make sense and their isnt much else to do for her right now because of lockdown. Also Im sure her family loves how creative it is but I can get it would get a little bit tyring at times thats she is always doing projects or cooking special things. But no hate, I do love Grace.part of me is starting to think this loving christmas so much being over the top is an act because its kinda her brand if that makes any sense thats what shes known for
I completely understand where you are coming from and I agree. I know that Grace never meant any harm.I see where you're coming from and I really hope I'm not coming across as ignorant or insensitive but surely it isn't Grace's fault if she's talking about workouts in a healthy way and you (plural, not directed at you specifically!) get triggered by it when you know what the topic of the video is. I know that some videos feature 'triggering' topics without it being in the title but isn't it better for people to avoid videos that are blatantly going to trigger them rather than Grace not being able to healthily talk about exercise (which is something we all need in normal doses) for an audience where the majority won't be triggered. If we avoid positive conversations around food and exercise then it creates a stigma and it legitimises eating disorders that view food as negative and excessive exercise as positive.
She’s one of the few YouTubers who Do deserve to be successfulI've now watched her modelling videos and I love her personality even more! She's so honest without being hateful, she sees a positive in almost everything. I hope her channels do grow and she becomes a huge success because she actually deserves it.
She’s one of the only influencers I cannot imagine being so self absorbed to do this! Her videos are great and I'd love to be her friend! I hope she reads this thread one day if she Googles herself or something and sees all these lovely commentsshe's such a joy to watch xx
I get that in people with ED cooking food you can;t eat is a sign of disordered eating (I did the same at the hieght of mine), but as a baker I think it is normal she uses dairy as it is such a fundamental part of many desserts so excluding it probably wasn't an option during her course (I assume), so for me it feels normalGoing back to Grace's eating and whether she might have an ED--
I appreciate that her family are slim and that she is tall, and so there may be a genetic component to her small size. However, there's a difference between being slim, like her sister, and underweight. Grace is straight up underweight (I'd estimate BMI 16). She's not a teenager, she's in her twenties. She's clearly fixated on food, and often cooks / bakes things that she cannot eat (as has been pointed out by others in this thread). To me, this points to an ED. Not all EDs are straightforward calorie-counting or purging behaviour. They can be nebulous and nuanced, with strange rules that most people would never pick up on. I speak as someone recovering from an ED, by the way-- a lot of Grace's viewers are. There's something to be said about that, I think...
What do you think?
Yeh same thing happened to me, every now and again if I eat too much it will come back though (i.e. now after all the cheese at xmas), but it def isn't necessarilly a permanent thing like gluten allergy or something. The dairy thing isn’t that weird in my opinion either. The exact same thing happened to my friend, for about 6 years she was intolerant and could barely handle any dairy.
Suddenly it just sort of went away? she tried a little pizza because she missed it and thought she’d just deal with the discomfort but nothing happened
It was really strange but wow was she happy it did!
This was exactly me, when I was younger! Up until the age of 25/26, I was naturally skinny and quite tall; I've been 5'7" since the age of 14 and loomed over most of my friends at that age. My weight was ALWAYS commented on. 'you need to eat a burger' 'is your mum starving you?' When these people saw me eat, they'd be like 'whaaaat'. I think people probably assumed I had an ED, but I didn't even know what they were at that age.I have no idea if she does or if she doesn’t. BUT I highly doubt it, I just know that if she did, her family would 100% notice and not be okay with it happening.
I’m not as tall as Grace but I am thin (but a healthy weight), my whole life people have assumed I’m anorexic or at least restrict what I’m eating... it’s like they can’t believe that someone would actually eat till they are full and know when to stop? And it’s seriously SO frustrating. People assume I restrict or that I have an unhappy life because I don’t over indulge all the time (some times I do! But I know when to stop) and it always just seems like people project their own insecurities onto me (or a thin person in general) and it’s almost like you can’t do right for doing wrong. Not long ago people were complaining that her diet had too much sugar, now it’s moved onto that she’s anorexic.
Skinny shaming is so real and only the people that haven’t experienced it will say it’s not. I was once not even phased with my weight, I didn’t give it a second thought. Now I look at myself in the mirror and notice how lanky my arms are (something that I literally cannot control), I feel like I should cover them up because someone will think I’m anorexic and it’s just so sad that other people have put those insecurities in my head because of their own insecurities.
Fair enough! I didn’t know they previously had Jesse as a bubble or that Chloe had moved out! I did think that Grace and Honor were too close when she posted on insta tho. I don’t get it?! First of all don’t do it, but second of all, why post it!?The issue is that Jesse also appeared in video at a time when he’d have had to be a bubble with the Booths, as well as their niece(?) and Grace seems to have been seeing Honor regularly the whole time. All the separate videos and stories Grace shows (with the exception of the v recent Honor one) make it look like they’re respecting the rules but when you look at them together they’re clearly not. The same if Chloe has moved out, she’d be their one bubble but could only have them or her fiancé not both.
No you are correct, her dad is the head teacher at a school. You can see it on the school website and his LinkedInHmm maybe I got it wrong then! Could swear I read somewhere- maybe on this board- that he was the head and people were saying it seemed odd an Art teacher would make the jump to headmaster. Maybe it was a lockdown dream.
And ooh, hadnt realised her mum taught too!
