I think her mum makes videos quite awkward... not even just the camera thing either. To use that vlog as an example, her dad was into it and up for it, but her mum moaned away about having gotten starters and only seemed to really decide to participate when Grace’s dad suggested they merge. It’s not the first time she’s done it either and I feel quite bad for Grace sometimes. If her mum doesn’t want to be on camera I totally get it, but if she doesn’t want to participate at all she could just... not? Rather than bring the dynamic down by complaining. Chloe wasn’t on camera but always seemed to at least be trying to join in. I honestly think that last vlog would have been way better if it was just Grace and her dad deciding then her mum joining them for eating.
I think this is kind of a general issue with youtubers... she needs to come up with content that is just her, her mum clearly isn't comfortable being on camera (totally normal) so she needs to maybe no include her family so much?

Wrong actually. Everything basically needs to be tagged as #AD these days. Whether it's simply a gifted item, or paid partnership, regardless of editorial control.
People have mentioned Advertising Standards. ASA only get involved if the advertising company have editorial control over the ad. Feel free to post a link to the ASA pages if you think they say something different. People don't mean ASA, the mean CMA. But this supports my point that they don't really know what they're talking about. If they can't name the relevant government organisation how can I trust that they got the actual law right?

The CMA is fine with [ad].

Every post by Grackle discloses, up front, the relationship between her and the supplier.

From the CMA:

> It is not likely that there will be just ‘one way’ of explaining your relationship to a brand. The CMA takes the view that ‘Advertisement Feature’ or ‘Advertisement Promotion’, are useful descriptions, but it has seen a range of other wording, (including #Ad, #Advert, and using the ‘Paid Partnership’ tool on Instagram in addition to these hashtags), which convey the appropriate messages simply and effectively.

I get the feeling chloe has moved out but don't think it has been mentioned. Genuinely love chloe too!
What makes you say that ? In the Xmas video it’s mentioned that they’re waiting for her to get up, and when she does grace doesn’t film her as usual bu, unless they were deliberately trying to mislead, it very much seems like she’s just come out of her bedroom not like she’s just arrived at the house ... and isn’t there a reference about keeping quiet the night before or something so she wouldn’t know , because she’s the only one in the house that didn’t...(not sure about that one) but curious what clues lead you to think that

She probably has a good amount of savings from her modelling days I would imagine already so maybe the income from views alone is enough for her. I’m just making assumptions but I don’t get the impression she pays rent to her parents. I think they are comfortable enough to allow her and her sister to live there and save. She is pretty lucky tbh. I think she probably buys a lot of food and groceries though to help out

I love that she was able to laugh at herself when she looked like Miss Hooley. TBF hairdressers never seem to style my hair the way I like it either (no offense to any hairdressers reading!) 😇
It did make me laugh when she did the side by side 😂

They seem pretty chill on videos but I guess they'll want to come across as good so 🤷🏼‍♀️ looking at the dad's Instagram page (Chloe's fiancé) he seems heavily involved in the church
Hmm that’s what I was thinking. I think they’ve been together longer than a year even if not formally since it seems like they've been at that church for a long time. I wonder if Grace will film part of their wedding if they approve of it.

Not trying to gatekeep but tbh we don't know much about their specific church so i'm not going to assume it's a certain way because other churches are, but I can understand the issues of donations and unpaid volunteering. We know the church is huge in their lives and Grace was probably born into it, I feel like it's hard to question something you were raised in. They do seem like a very tight-knit, close community. I don't intent to join a church anytime soon but if I did that would probably be what I would join for.

Yeah I know with those type of religions people usually only date and make friends with people from their church which I find strange but each to their own ! I suppose people generally want to mix with people who hold the same values as them etc. But I think it opens your mind more to mix with people who have different views than your own. I think that kind of behaviour can create closed mindedness even if the person doesn't mean to be. I feel like this is why some people find grace as a bit childish maybe it's because she seems quite sheltered and maybe hasn't really mixed with people that are different to her (faith or social class etc.) I couldn't imagine her ever discriminating against people who are different but she just seems to live in her own world if you get me ? Yeah I've heard her mention that too maybe there's certain rules regarding dating with her religion ? I'm not sure but I'm curious
yeah 100% agree, I went to a christian school for msot of my education growing up and really don't think just socialising with one relgion like that is a good idea. I think just the lack of awareness of other types of people (not discriminating purposely at all) does just make you more limited as a person (and I say this for myself, as someone with mainly white friends) I was really shocked by what the BLM movement here revealed, I learned a lot but did wish I had been more aware before

Could be wrong but their church seemed very modern to me? Maybe it is more about the specific denomination though that frowns upon a lot of contact before marriage. They are also older, not in their late teens/early 20s though which many churches seem to want to 'marry them off' quite young. They definitely are very close to their church and I don't doubt the Booth children were raised sheltered. Grace is lovely as a person though and did probably get more wordly when she was in the modeling world than she's let on.

I am not much of a fan of Honour either and how Grace is near her, though she seems like a nice enough girl. I'm curious as to what her church friends are like since she shows so little of them.
I am not exatly sure which church she is with... but I have an idea as an ex housemate was with one in a very similar area... if I am right, they are one of those very American-ish Christian churches with huge halls of people and singing etc... although I could be wrong, this is just based on where I know they used to live

If you’re not famous you generally don’t get paid much at all for walking a run way so I doubt she would have saved much if anything from catwalk modelling! Some designers don’t even pay models for runway work! They see exposure as a way of paying you 🤷🏻‍♀️

Would she have earned that much through modelling, and still have it saved? She stopped a good while ago, and didn't model for long - I have no idea how much it pays!

I doubt they charge her rent! But she definitely does help out - doing the washing, cooking, probably cleaning, buying groceries.

It could be that her sister hasn't known her fiance for long (replying to a comment further back) alot of very religious people do get married quite quickly after meeting I suppose because sex before marriage and sharing a bed before marriage etc. Is often frowned upon in christianity.
yeh I thought this, Grace has mentioned never having gone on a date before (nothing wrong with it ofc, each to their own, but it is pretty unusual) I imagine they met through the church?

I also wonder if Grace is going to move anytime soon, just like Jesse did in the beginning of the year (last year). I suppose you can’t move during the pandemic but I’ve heard of many UK influencers moving this year.
I was just thinking but she is so young to move . But she isn’t at all is she. What is she 23 ? I moved out and got married and had a baby at 22. i just think of her as a teen .

I think her wee bit explaining why there wasn't a vlog for chloe moving out also shows she is more mature than we give her credit for on here. I am abit gutted she didn't answer my question though, I asked if her or anyone in her family accidentally drops an F bomb as they are all so well spoken & I just can't imagine them swearing 😂
Long time lurker here and I’ve been watching Grace since she started her YouTube channel. Her parents and her I believe are quite religious and coming from a religious background myself, swearing isn’t really in our vocabulary! Although we can “slip up from time to time” 😂

I agree! I think her outlook on the whole BLM was incredibly positive and when you look at her church it seems very inclusive, catering to many.

The one thing I love about Grace is she is obviously very passionate about her faith but in no way does she shove it down your throat or preach at you, so her opinions on others never cross my mind as I don’t watch her as a Christian vlogger, I watch her as Grackle!
I'll be honest, maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention to her videos, but until it was discussed on here, I didn't realise she was even religious, never mind her family being so important in her church.

And I like that, you don't watch her for her religion, and she doesn't shove it on your face or preach or anything. It's nice.

The only slightly controversial thing is that Frances Quinn from bake off arranged for Grace to be sent the kitchen aid. They've obviously become good friends but Frances was found shoplifting at Waitrose a few months ago...

Grace mentions going to church and helping to run youth group but other than that she doesn't mention it very much at all. Religion is clearly an important part of their lives but I think she does a good job of keeping it separate from YouTube.

After looking into her church, they are Pentecostal Christians which is a part of Evangelical Christianity... in brief, they place a lot of importance on scripture and like to have an "active" church. Meaning that members help out where they can and get involved with different activities. I think they're pretty "normal" in that they don't have any particular rules about how people can live their lives (i.e. they're allowed to drink, date, etc.).
These types of Pentecostal religions tend to be very “fundamentalist” though, I.e. not accepting of gay/ lesbian people etc. One of my housemates at uni was like this and some of her views were awful. I know not everyone is the same but all the people I have known in these churches have been
