She has said last summer that she's saving to move out and get a place of her own, I don't recall if she said specifically she wanted a house of her own - anyway, I do think she thinks ahead and is planning her future.

There is a distinction I think needs to be made between someone who is childlike - Grace is very bubbly, very easygoing and has a youthful excitable personality and someone who is childish as in they are incapable of doing something on their own and are very dependent on others. I think it's obvious Grace is the former.

People develop at different rates and just because someone hasn't been in a relationship at a certain age shouldn't make them immature. Whether youtube can count as a legitimate "job" though is another question. I have a feeling she won't do it forever, and will maybe be more serious about going into baking or catering as she gets older. I think she's said before she never imagined she would become this popular and it was more of a hobby for her. With the ads she's done now though maybe she's becoming more serious about it becoming a more stable career.

I love Grackle but she’s not been following the rules from the very start, and I don’t think her family have either. She’s just doing it more obviously now.
Yeah I noticed that from the start she was not following some of the rules. Didn't she have a BBQ in the first lockdown? It is so frustrating to me to see her disregard the rules. I saw her story of her meeting Honour this week and I was pretty annoyed about it tbh. I am only 21 and I have not been out since march 2020 other than for my doctors appointments and the occasional walk because my mum is vulnerable and if I passed it on to her she would not survive. My older sister even moved in with us because she lives alone and did not want to be isolated from us for all that time. I spent my 21st birthday in lockdown and I haven't seen my friends in months. Occasionally one of my friends with deliver me little presents to let me know she is thinking about me.

Grace has been meeting up with Honour a lot, going for unnecessary trips to the garden centre, the supermarket, and even just going on unnecessary trips away and days out in the centre of London. It is all just all unnecessary and totally tone-deaf to her subscribers and followers how have been affected by this pandemic, who are taking social distancing seriously or who have been shielding from the very start.

People who are unwilling to follow the rules are complicit in causing the numbers to increase and causing the pandemic to be prolonged. It is ridiculous that people take no responsibility for their actions.

Also does anybody know what Grace's parents do for a living? Her dad is an art teacher isn't he? What about her mum? They seem like well-educated people. It shocks me that even people who should be quite intelligent fail to understand how important following the rules are.

Feel like I’ve kept fairly quiet on this thread about the social distancing because it’s normally a rave thread but it is really annoying to see her constantly going out non essentially and meeting honor so often with no social distancing. Chloe got engaged during a lockdown, there’s no way they have been sticking to the rules

I love Grackle so much! I’m watching her day in the life vid and just when I thought I couldn’t like her any more she says she volunteers in a school two days a week! She says she’s doing it because she doesn’t want to become to obsessed with YT, but I think that’s just nice Grace speak for not wanting to become a twat who’s obsessed with themselves like so many “influencers” are. She’s so grounded and normal. Love it!

Grace is much more admirable than most youtubers. She does seem to push herself beyond her comfort zone. I think some of the criticism is unfair since she isn't trying to be everything for everyone. She's just exploring her interests in food, a bit of fashion, really trying to live her best life with trying new things and taking up hobbies without being preachy. Like when she took up couch 2 5k after saying that she wasn't much of a runner or athlete. Most other youtubers would have blown it out of proportion in to a series where they then spew faux inspiring nonsense. Also no one is watching her for her take on global geopolitics or changing social norms. I at least just want wholesome cozy content.

On other hand, no one is perfect and as her channel continues to grow and she tries new things, there will be growing pains. Like sometimes, when she does her food challenges, her research in to other food cultures or trends is a bit cursory. I can't think of an example of the top of my head but I've have definitely rolled my eyes hard at some of her comments I think about Asian cooking. Anyways, criticism is not necessarily "bashing" or "bullying" people are inevitably point out mistakes or inconsistencies of influencers or whoever who put themselves out there. She is however generally and literally gracious to feedback, comments, etc.

Has Grace ever had a boyfriend or expressed any kind of romantic / sexual interest in anyone? I find it surprising that she seems so childlike in that regard, despite being in her twenties...
I think she's been on dates before and she sometimes hints that she'd like a boyfriend. Not sure if she's had any physical contact with boys before but nothing to be ashamed of if she hasn't. She doesn't seem like the type to go into detail about it anyway. I remember she said she fancied Sam Fender once and who can blame her tbh 😂

I loved her Christmas in July! Can’t say enough positive things about her and her family. She’s such a fun and lovely person all around. As someone who really struggled with acne as a teenager I emphathise with her a lot. She seems so confident in herself and I think that’s what really matters. She really is a breath of fresh air not like all the youtubers who cake their faces in makeup in every video.
Exactly this. I'd rather see her just being herself - acne included - than layered in an inch of make-up and/or heavily photoshopped . Her videos have also helped me have a much healthier relationship with food. Can't sing her praises enough.

She's just so wholesome. I feel soothed from all the fakeness of youtube watching her. I mean the girl quit a pretty successful career as a high fashion model to become a baker. Says it all really.

Idk it feels kinda redundant to nit-pick about somebody going to the shops just becuase they're privileged enough not to have to go multiple times a week. I need to go to the shops multiple times a week, I don't have a car, I can't afford to spend £40 on supermarket delivery, I have to go shopping in a supermarket which has limited stock (due to brexit and the pandemic) So I frequently go to the supermarket for small amounts of food. I know Grace isn't in the same situation, but should I be shamed for going to the shops more than others?

The breakfast buffet video was adorable, genuinely made me tear up how much effort she put in and how grateful her family, especially her mum was!

Didn’t she used to also work at a school or hospital? Can’t remember which but she did bank work I think like admin ?? She has probably more work experience than a lot of people. Retail, modelling, running youth groups, a degree, a successful YouTube career. She definitely makes a full time wage off YouTube

Im watching finding the best cookie and my first thought was, she is beautiful! She is one of those people when you see more and more of they become prettier? Does that make sense?

One thing I really appreciate about Grace is she shows you can do good quality, non repetitive content without encouraging mindless consumerism. She tries to use what she already has at home, and despite most of her videos being filmed in her home/kitchen, her content doesnt ever feel stale. In a world oversaturated with anastasia kingsnorths, Grace is so refreshing.

I’m not much older than Grace myself (I’m 27) but our upbringing couldn’t be further apart and as some have mentioned at time I do get a little envious of her close family. I have five siblings all half except for one and we all raised each other with not much help from our ‘parents’ and I felt lost as a kid hence why my life turned out the way it did.

That being said as the mother of an 11 year old girl and a 7 month old girl I would be so so proud of my daughter if they were like Grace at her age 🤷‍♀️ The world is a scary place and it’s only getting harder for generations (I lay awake at night wondering what the hell my youngest is going to go through) so it is no wonder her parents have mollycoddled her slightly, I’d do anything to have my girls with me until they are that age and I really hope they stay. I do agree that she is a little immature at times but she is pretty much harmless! I kinda feel very motherly and protective over her because I feel like she might not be cut out to be an ‘influencer’ and receive all the hate she will inevitably get (that comes with having a big following) she’s a very sensitive soul and I hope she doesn’t let people’s observations change her personality as that’s why we all liked her in the first place!

Grace’s absolutely joy with her hotel room in The Suite Life...so cute! So refreshing in an age of grabby and expectant YTers!

Absolutely agree with all the above. Her new video with the game show was the work of someone who really genuinely enjoys making videos for the sake of making them which is all YouTube used to be but is sadly rare now. I hope she never changes - or at least never gets corrupted. It's impossible to imagine currently.

I stopped watching the ones Honour is in tbh because I do get a weird vibe when they're together sometimes like Grace is desperate to impress the popular girl or something. She seems more natural when she's just by herself.

I am curious about the Halloween incident though because I'm pretty sure she mentioned that in a different video as well. I wonder if she'll ever do a storytime about it. I wouldn't mind more chatty/relaxed videos from her.

Nah, I've also grown up on all food being made from scratch, and store bought is usually nowhere close to being as good as homemade, so just guessing she is just surprised about it being that good 🤷‍♀️
