Really? I remember when it happened and people who also graduated from Oxford were saying that not many people do it and it's seen as a bit 'cringe', for lack of a better word (because I didn't got to Oxford).
Yeh, admittedly I only know 2 people who've graduated from Oxford but neither of them did it
Oh, i know a few people from cam and most of them did it. Also you get the MA anyway, you just apply to get a free ceremony/formal. Obviously the whole title and celebration is bs, but I wouldnt really judge Grace for going to the ceremony, imo its quite common
Same. Practically everyone from my year at Cam went to the ceremony and those that didn't, it was generally because they were living abroad or couldn't go for some other reason. Its a meet up with old friends and a fancy dinner for free.. Why wouldn't you go?
Oh I agree you’d be mad not to go for it. But the smoke and mirrors of it, is just adding to other smoke and mirrors she has about sustainability, supporting women and opening doors for them and so on.
That's obviously why her merch is endlessly on sale or in tk maxx

The Oxbridge MA upgrade is up there with things that should be banned in academia like Vee’s honorary doctorate. Nobody I know who went there attended the ceremony or ever puts MA on stuff, because theyre normal, well adjusted people who don’t live for the validation of others unlike Grace with her constant need to look like an over achiever 
I very much doubt this has happened. Her company is what 5 years old now? I have NEVER seen anyone wearing TALA in public or at the gym, not one person

An Oxford degree is seen as harder so it automatically confers to a masters.

But then why not just give it automatically when you do the degree? Thr whole thing makes 0 sense to me
I'm a long time lurker of this thread but my understanding is that is a historical thing tied up in how degrees were originally awarded - Oxford being 100s of years old and all
I get why they like doing it/people want it cause like it is an extra degree for no more work but personally I think it should come with some kind of caveat of like this is not a real degree/qualification? I do come from the position of having engineering bachelor's/masters and now doing a PhD so that probably taints my view but I'd never dream of going to a graduation like this it smells like bull and for Grace to be able to pass it off like she did all this extra work is worse!
