It always drives me nuts that they always have a tray of cakes/donuts/pastries every single week and never seem to eat them They wouldn't be safe in front of me like that!

The dancer son answered this on tiktok before, he said they don’t eat them because they’re talking. They’re paid to verbally review/react to the tv and can’t do that with cake in their mouth, but the food doesn’t need to be there in the first place imo maybe they just think it looks pretty and homely

I’ve given up on gogglebox.
Every northern woman on it - is portrayed as thick (scripted). The two elderly women with their sex talk - are also scripted.
The set up scenes generally, are tiresome and not in the slightest bit amusing.
I liked it in the beginning, but I won’t be going back to it.

Also I was a bit annoyed when they watched Mare of Easttown as it was episode 5 and most of them obviously hadn’t seen a second of it before then and yet we seen near enough every bloody second of Line of Duty.

I know - because they all say the same thing. It would be far more entertaining if there were differing political viewpoints. I can't believe Mary doesn't love Boris for instance.
Plus I want Gogglebox to be an escape from the bloody news.

Exactly if we're going on "stereotypes" Mary is tories, pete and his sister are Labour. Don't shoot me I haven't watched it yet

I actually watched that 'Sex Actually' programme. Strangely compelling and I thought Alice Levine was great. Very Louis Theroux like.

Good episode tonight. I enjoy Giles and Mary still.

I used to watch Gogglebox when it first started and I thought it was great (Leon and June ). I stopped watching it for a few years and came back to it last year. I still like it, but everything does seem to be a lot more OTT.

The Celebrity version on the other hand is not very good! Babatunde and Mo are quite entertaining but the rest bring no wit whatsoever.
