They have annoyed me tonight having such a big segment on Close To Me… it’s the kind of thing I want to watch with no spoilers so had to put the TV on mute and only glance at it every few minutes to check if they had moved on!

They spoil basically every Netflix show for me, drives me mad.

That Baggs family so over exaggerate their reactions to everything.
I will always have a fondness for Gogglebox. But it is a victim of its own success. As @Snowfairy08 said it is almost impossible now to find 'normal' people who won't play up to the camera. They all seem to be looking for a punchline.

Those Baggs boys!! Well the oldest is very annoying he is almost camp in his reactions and then the younger brother tries to act accordingly based on what big brother is doing. The dad seems OK, the mum is irritating.

It is mental when you think about it. 10 years ago if you had said to me that we would be watching people, watching and reacting to other people on TV and it was an addictive show to watch, I would have thought that's a mad idea.

I remember when Gogglebox first started and I think it was on Wednesday night's at 10pm, trying to explain to my work colleague that it's watching people on tv watching tv, he just gave me a funny look and said 'yeah I'll give that a miss.' Who knew it would become so big.

I think it’s filler rather than surgery. Surgery would need recovery time but filler doesn’t.

Tonight’s episode was boring but suppose they needed it after last weeks quackers episode

i found myself missing the duck tbh

very dull episode all around with a weak selection of shows imo - like we’ve said before, i hate them watching things and pretending they’ve never seen them before so the f1 section (which was and still is huge news) was absolutely pointless. i also wish they’d stop watching romeo and duet, i find it so cringey

also can’t bear how that older couple (ronnie and annie? someone and annie anyway) talk to each other like they’re completely aware they’re being filmed. no one else does it but they’re like “remember in 1970 when you and i went to dinner at that place and i was working as a policeman” - no one talks like that

They have a great relationship. I was listening to a Rob Bryson podcast and he mentioned that he had recently worked with Martin, and he said that he was such a lovely guy.

Another reason why I think the regular Gogglebox is much better is because we have had time to get to know the couples/families and what they are like. It just doesn't work as well with Celebrities that we maybe see once or twice a year. Especially with the awful pairings this series.

The ones who are pretty committed like Denise, Nick Grimshaw, Shaun and Bez and The Kemps work bit there is really no point in getting people like Iain Stirling and Laura Whitmore to do it. They pop in for the odd episode for 5 minutes and that's it. No idea what Jeremy Vine was doing on it.

I am utterly tired of this show now. Most of the working class woman are portrayed as thick.

Just watching Celebrity Googlebox tonight, and thinking how uninspiring all their Celebrity homes are??

I thought the same, maybe they film in the spare room, I have seen the Kemps house when they have done Zoom calls and it looked nice then. Rylan has the only house I would love to look round.

I really think they are that stupid tbh, having seen one episode of love isand I do not doubt anything anymore My favs are definitely the Siddiqis, and I also like the welsh couple. I used to like the friends who live in the caravan park but I think now they are just playing up to the cameras too much

I get the impression that the recruitment process is very fast. Gogglebox do not take appilcations, the producers go out on to the streets and look for potential participants and then pitch the prospect of joining the show to them. Paige, for example was poached when she was in the hair salon. The producers will tell participants how great the show is and how strong the support network is because they want them to join. Television is renowned for its superb care for its talent, so anyone looking in would think this be the case at Gogglebox. However, it seems not. It also sounds as though Paige and Sally were messed around, being asked to stand in when the well known families like Pete & Sophie and The Malones weren't available.

I know nothing about TV so had no idea aftercare was a thing tbh, would the average person assume this? At this stage, gogglebox has been on SUCH a long time I don;t know how you could not have an idea of what you were getting into

None of us will ever like the same things so I have to say I can't stand them, although I know many posters do. I don't find them funny and I don't feel the chemistry. Sorry!

I am not keen on them either , unpopular opinion probably but I cannot stand Roman Kemp. Love his dad though.

I used to find Pete and Sophie really annoying but I've realised it's actually just Sophie I find annoying - it's the laugh! Pete can actually be pretty funny.
