I’m probably going to get launched upon for this. The poor boy isn’t ever going to get better, he has been on borrowed time for a while now. For his sake he needs to pass. His parents have dragged out his poor little life in such an unfair way now and he needs peace, not the torment they are dragging him through.

It breaks my heart to say that as he is such a beautiful and innocent boy, but now he deserves peace and dignity. He’s never going to recover and keeping him going is selfish.

I am wondering about the sophiekitchx , they seem to be posting the go fund me link most days.
My heart breaks for their situation (baby has AML and they lost their first son the previous year I think it was)
But he seems to have responded well to the treatment with nhs. They keep moving the goalposts with the amount to raise too.
Current is £82,249 raised of £100,000 goal..
The fundraiser for this says its to cover accommodation costs for the parents, so they can be close to their baby. I get that, you'd wanna be with your baby 24/7 if they were sick. My issue though is, why have they set the target to £100,000. It doesn't cost that much to stay in a hotel. It's just greed, an im sick of people using their poorly children for money. Seems to be the common thing now, a kid gets diagnosed an instead of worrying about them, they just see pound signs. Sickening.

Jo Solomon from No Verbal Filter just set up her third Gofundme since 2019.
The first one was for her horse Jack for cancer on his eyelid, she went to her local paper saying she was just about to go on maternity and couldn't afford to pay for it. (None of her six horses or other animals are insured) Surgery was done so ok.
Second one a couple of years ago for her cat who was shot by an air rifle, there was a possibility she may need surgery but rather than wait for her to see the specialist to find out Jo yet again asked for money, the total was reached in two hours, people told her to take it down but she cited 'technical issues' and it stayed up well in to the following day. And then miraculously the cat didn't need the operation, some people were suspicious and asked for refunds but she refused and blocked them. Off the top of my head I think it was about £4000 in the end possibly more. She's always claimed she refunded everyone who asked and spent the money on the animals.
Today she has set up another fir Jack as he now has cancer on his penis, he could have laser surgery but she claims the vet has said he wants to amputate part of the penis instead.
This comes after telling us she had caught it really quickly and when she said about amputation the vet said not to be hasty, now she reckons he's said it has to be done next week as a matter of urgency.
Laser would be approx £1200 but suprise suprise he's chosen the amputation at approx £3500!
She says she's more than happy to get a loan and has done all the 'only donate if you can afford it' and 'i hate asking for help' blah blah blah but the reality is she has a new car and a lorry she bought for £14,000 on her drive that is mostly used for tip runs but she is refusing to sell it!
She begs and hints constantly for things, has an army of gullible supporters who constantly send clothes, toys, stuff for the horses etc she has a wishlist with things like washing powder etc on and the joke is she has said numerous times she earns more money doing social media as her 'job' than she ever earnt working full time. She constantly moans about having no money yet had enough for Botox and a non surgical eye lift!
I'm convinced she will get this money and then we will get the 'oh the vet decided he didn't need surgery after all' spiel. Even on her begging post just now she lied again by saying that when she did the one for the cat the surgeon only decided on the day that the cat didn't need surgery at all which wasn't how it was told to us at the time.
She is a habitual liar and she hasn't even been honest and admitted that this is her third fundraiser for her animals (plus she also got her supporters to raise money for her rapist best friend but that's another story! 🙄)
So far she's got £305 in the first half an hour.
In a cost of living crisis where people are struggling and rescue centres overrun by animals being surrendered because people can't afford to keep them I just find it disgusting that yet again she expects others to pay for the animals she insists on having yet doesn't look after properly.
There's a list on her thread of all the animals that have suffered in her 'care' and believe me it's shocking.

I dont understand why people fundraise for children's funerals, undertakers dont charge for them because the Children's Funeral Fund has been set up. Gofundme for funerals feels like a huge scam. People shouldn't be asking complete strangers to pay for funerals

Dilly’s story is just heartbreaking and I feel like Amy trying every last thing to save her child shouldn’t be judged. I suppose non of us know what we would do if we were in that position. I do worry though as someone said previously, if the natural treatments have caused the faster progression of anything. The thing with go fund me is no one is forcing anyone to donate. She’s not hidden their home and how they live, and I do feel the American trip was fully funded by go fund me. To be honest the Ashley Cane carry on lead me to this thread, I’ve never personally donated to any of these GFM’s and I know if I was in the position myself and my husband would give everything before we resorted to asking others for money. But if people are willing to donate it’s easy to see why so many do it.
On a lighter note, it’s so lovely to see Renai’s mum have her baby. I hope in some way it can allow her to live and feel some happiness. Xxx
I agree that I would never judge on a desperate family trying to save their baby. I also completely understand they used the GFM for genuine treatment. What I dislike is that they continue to live a very lavish lifestyle while begging for money and have done for 4 years! If other people are putting their hands in their pockets (and some have way less than their family does!) then she should be scrimping and saving for her boy. If you didn’t follow her all the time, you wouldn’t realise how much they spend on stuff like rent so I don’t think they’re being fully transparent. It makes me worried that very low income people are giving more than they can afford to help sweet Dillan whereas Amy is living a lavish lifestyle and not making that clear. That said, obviously I don’t judge her for what she is currently going through and I have no doubt they adore that sweet baby.

Amy did say she wanted Dillan to pass in hospital and not at home. So they must be fearing the worst. Poor little Dillan, I hope they can keep him comfortable and pain free as he enters this last phase. Much as I’m interested in how they’re all doing, I definitely think it’s unnecessary to post pictures of him. He does deserve privacy and dignity

The sad fact is the alternative treatments are not working and Dillan hates having them.
The kindest thing that could happen now is to let him have some fun whilst he's still well enough to do it. My heart breaks for them but there will be no miracle cure or even miracle maintenance treatment at this stage.

Just found this thread. I NEVER donate to GFMs. I had a time in my life I really needed a helping hand and nobody got the online begging bowl out for me. They'll all just have to stay strong and keep their chin up... just like I did.

I agree with you not our place to say
Poor wee man x
I agree, I have never been in that heartbreaking situation so I’m not going to pass any comment on how they choose to navigate this. Dillan may well be comforted by his extended family. It means he’ll have people cuddling him and helping him even when his mum or dad pop to the toilet or grab something to eat. Whatever I may think of their grifting, I’m sure they’re just doing the best they can at this time. Nobody knows how they’d react if they’ve not been there. I hope they are all surrounded by love and support and that Dillan’s symptoms are well managed.

I would like to think if I was ever in that situation than I would spend every last minute with my child, not writing updates on social media or taking photos of myself at meetings.
They don't owe anyone an explanation as to how he is doing each day..enjoy every last minute of him.

That whole area of raising funds for various causes really needs to be examined closely.
There's too many examples of people living a high life on money that was raised for an actual cause. Cashley Cain and his partner being just one example.

How on earth she thinks it’s okay to start another “go fund me” for private treatment, why should strangers fund it? I actually chipped in for the American treatment and would have done anything to help but this is not just right asking people for another ton of money! This is not going to cure him sadly.

Beggy Mitchel needs to stop now!
Agree. Strangers shouldn't be funding his private treatment. I think it's sad that she's making him go through all of this when he clearly doesn't want to. He's had a taste of freedom and it's what he wants more off! The tantrums she says he's having are probably down to the fact he doesn't want to be sat in a chair for a full day having stuff pumped into him! Take him let him feel the fresh air, take him on a tube, roll around on the grass! It breaks my heart that he can't live a little x

There’s no doubt they love that little boy. Amy has left no stone unturned in her quest to cure him. And I genuinely don’t think she ever thought it would get to this part. But surely they don’t need more money. I get that Amy doesn’t work and the bills etc on their apartment must be astronomical. Like others have said families go through this all the time without any financial help. I wonder if when he passes they will change the go fund me to help towards funeral costs? I hope Dilly isn’t in pain and he feels safe and loved. My heart breaks for them

they are but they are very basic
So I completely understand parents wanting the best send off for their child
Huge get together celebration party for the parents complete with unlimited drink and expensive makeovers for all.
Your child won’t know if you did have your nails done and a new pair of shoes.

Best send off means a slightly prettier coffin or some flowers …down the line a headstone not halloween tat.
Got to keep the parents appearing influencer ready.

Very common at EOL. I wonder if they're not having much explained to them or they're just not taking it in :( It's making me really appreciate the PC care nurse my Dad had - they went through all of this and what happens in the final days/hours so it was a lot less scary.
When I was a student nurse, I did a placement in a hospice. There was a young couple there who had a child dying from cancer. They didn't fully understand what palliative meant and thought their baby could be 'cured'. It was the most awful thing watching the Dr's and nurses explaining that she wouldn't recover and would die.

Renai was on treatment I think, im sure they had the treatment brought over from Germany. I do believe they are genuine as once they had enough money the GFM was closed straight away
Renais dad has his own business as well and I think both parents were comfortable financially judging by their pictures. I’ve a soft spot for Renais mum too, and Renai looks to have had a great life, holidays with her mum and dad, days out, sleepovers etc.
