Daughter was recently diagnosed with a form of cancer which it seems like she isn’t in serious danger from (surely she would post the positive side but oh no, not when there’s a GFM)
So she put a GFM, apparently because she will be out of work (didn’t have a job besides tt anyway)
Last I saw after about a week was it showing £8k I think. She posted yesterday with a caption about missing her July mortgage payment and that her car needs air con and another tt with her son taking up old carpets and she said they are getting the carpets replaced as they have had them over 10 years.
Bare in mind she announced the child had cancer and done the Gfm possibly the same/next day!

People will just take and take and there are way too many suckers ready to enable them.

Asking for help with medical bills is one thing, especially if American. I am super sympathetic to that.

But it just never seems to be enough for people once the donations start coming in and they suddenly need help with this thing, that thing, a million things that have nothing to do with their original fundraiser.

It doesn't half wind me up.

Either he wasn’t insured, he was pissed/on drugs (so insurance won’t pay out) or it was deliberate. Medical travel insurance would definitely pay out. I’ve had a load of emergency medical care in the U.S. and I never saw a bill

I’m shocked at how much money these GFM generate

It's bizarre to me because in one breath we are all struggling and can barely afford to feed ourselves but in the next people are donating money to any cause they can lay their hands on or paying to watch streamers scream on the internet.

Saw a news article about a 22 year old with terminal lung cancer who has a GFM for a treatment in Germany.

It's not certain her early smoking and vaping from age of 15 is the cause but doctors say "it won't have helped".

I think it's her dad who has set the GFM up.

I just feel that if he cared enough about his child maybe he shouldn't have been enabling bad habits from such a young age...

Agree, I do feel he may be someone looking for love and easily taken advantage of.

Yes,I bet his little family feel they've hit the jackpot. At least he hadn't lied or made up some elaborate story,but that's why it hasn't worked for him. Honestly doesn't seem to pay as well as deception in most cases.

Surely she will get a big payout from the bus company who ran the child over? Might have to wait a year or 2, but the insurance will payout.
Plus, pretty sure it's illegal to bury a body in your garden, maybe someone else can confirm?

Why? She was sitting in the car and had let her 10 year old and 4 year old go to the loo in the hospital on their own. On the way out the 4 year old ran straight out in front of a moving bus. The poor driver.

You can bury bodies in gardens apparently according to the Kent Online article I read. I’d imagine it would make your house pretty difficult to sell tho

There is something so crass about all these GoFundMe efforts getting set up within hours of a passing.

The one exception is funeral costs but otherwise it's creeping me out.

It's so undignified. You get a couple of paragraphs of mawkish insincere AI waffle about how devastating everything is and how they "brightened up every room" then a standard "so can I have some money pls" at the bottom. Same pattern all the time now. First thing so many people do.

You can see a real buzz for a hustle opportunity in many of them as well. Sure they're a bit sad but also they're chuffed to bits that they'll be raking it in. Yuck. And lots of them are cynical 'adapted versions of the story' designed to attract more donations too.... that's another annoyance. See the current Rachel Tussey story and GFM as a potential example. Strange goings on there.
