Says it all about society doesn't it - I'm stuck here working, had 1 week off this year, run my own business paying income tax for myself and my staff, VAT, NI and pension contributions, rates, you name it ..... hand over a small fortune to the Government yearly. And there is an unemployed benefit claiming family holidaying in Florida.

It's a sad reflection of society though that people see money as the immediate answer to tragedy. Having lost a child myself and also my Dad recently, I just can't imagine being in a place where you are even remotely thinking about money.

Disney grandmother has already got £15k in donations 
. And all they're desperate to do is get her back so the good old NHS can pick up the tab for her stupidity. I honestly think that having travel insurance should be a compulsory part of travel, idiots abroad doesn't cover it.

They strike me as living on image and credit cards. It's all for show, and I bet they've been drowning in debt but have been able to hide behind Dilly with it. Now they won't have that option.

That whole area needs to be more regulated, imo. It's all too easy for potential scammers to milk it, as it stands.
Have you seen the bridal PA website Amy has set up?! Wonder where she's had the money to set up a business that has a Mayfair office from?! It's so wrong. People gave money to Dilly not to set her up in business. I've no doubt it'll be another dodgy one like all of Oz's companies.

A positive GFM story,
I was just reading via Cheshire Police a family tribute to two pilots who were killed in a collision on the motorway. Their comments about the gofundme and how the money will be used is such a stark contrast to many we see on here. What a wonderful thing they are doing with the donations.
I found the GFM. It was set up by colleagues without the knowledge of the families. Might have been well intended but also could have caused the families extra stress of having to discuss and decide what to do with the money they didn’t ask for.

No one should ever have to bury their child, it’s the cruellest thing imaginable.
But most parents that it happens to don’t get out the begging bowl, why does it always come down to money with some?
I’d be too embarrassed to ever post a go fund me or just giving page for myself, and I wouldn’t want anyone else doing it on my behalf.

I find it a bit crass that he acts like he's the big I Am with his little trading "business", flogging it like it's the easiest hustle (

She owns a dog grooming business and he was a ‘dog trainer’ they owned a boarding business in the local area and their dog killed 2 dogs who were boarding at their house on 2 separate occasions.

she had a liver transplant and they did a go fund me for a private liver (doesn’t exist). Then they raised 45k and spent it on; a chocolate Labrador (that they rehomed when he was 2 because he was ‘untrainable’), a Great Dane (who died at 11 months because he had a bad reaction to an anaesthetic, that ended in a go fund me for his vet bills but they put him to sleep. Then they bought a caravan and sold it at profit.
This most recent go fund me is for vet bills of a cat they ‘rescued’ (Originally they did a go
Fund me for rescuing him. Raised 2k and then decided they would ‘keep’ him so just used the 2k to decorate their house’.

Anyone who trashes a hotel room is scummy, imo. There's no excuse for doing that. I hope that most people ignore their fundraising, FFS.

I really don’t think most people would have minded so much if she had just asked for a certain amount, say 20 grand, for a nice send off for Dilly and any excess would go towards the playground. Yes, even I could have lived with that, hard as I appear to be. But asking for money to pay bills and rent when most ordinary folks are struggling day to day, and expecting those people to give money to fund their holiday and lifestyle is taking the piss big time. No good her trying to fan the flames now, people have got the true measure of her and this is purely damage limitation. Will wait for the update on that playground in the future.Her latest story … little bit late to make out you are not a money grabbing arsehole!

Just stumbled across the thread and had to comment about a family that live near me. From what I understand they lost one of their children (late teens) in tragic circumstances recently. So a GFM was started to pay for the funeral due to them not having large incomes. The fund was asking for £5k which it soon passed so they left it open. It rose quickly to around £12-15k I believe. That's some funeral right?
The next thing I heard through the grapevine was that they are members of a church who really pulled together at this time and they were being sent ready cooked meals so they didn't have to worry about cooking. Suddenly they were able to afford a brand new freezer to hold the meals.
The funeral took place which was a well attended event, but I don't think was anywhere near the cost of the fund. I happened to be in the restaurant the afternoon of the wake being held there and that certainly wasn't a big event.
Fast forwards a couple of months. Now a new shiny car has appeared in the driveway. For a family who previously had quite an old second hand car.
I'm not saying they are scammers, I don't know them personally this is just what I've observed and heard from others who attended the same church. But something feels off to me.

Im sure they live in canary wharf. If their flat is 2 bed then £4000 per month is what rightmove shows
