they need to rethink the face off eliminator
Not sure why that's under a spoiler as a general observation?

I actually think the face-off challenge was a fair one, and for once there was a clear winner between the contestants.

It's a good test of a basic staple skill, taking into account prep, application and finish, and the time is adjusted depending on what they're asking them to do.

It was also the right result last night. The losing FO challenger's efforts were rubbish.

Based solely on the face off the right contestant won but bloody Nora it's so pants that a contestant can naws up so badly in the creative brief (and the technical hubris of last week) and get through on the face off when the losing contestant is clearly more talented. I know this happens every series but it's a shambles really.

The whole thing is now to be honest.
When it started, it was great. But now I'm not aure why they're trying to achieve.
I watch because I love makeup, but haven't really taken it seriously since they stopped using respected , working pro-MUAs for influencers, who only really work on their own faces and in social media, and putting their name to cheap, low-quality brands.
They only work to a real brief for the industry challenge, but MUAs in training would also learn to read call-sheets and script timings, learn to work with wardrobe and hair on achieving an overall style and look, and with designers for runway work.
All they will get out of this now is exposure to become more social media MUAs, not working pros.

Faking It is back on Channel 5 and Dom is a mentor for a Scottish guy who is a painter and decorator. I think I’ve said it before on this thread, but I can’t believe that Dom is 62 😱

Dom bleaches the guys eyebrows 😂

It was about time 🙄
As soon as I saw it had gone on iplayer I just loaded up.and went straight to the end to see if this week was THE week. And it was. Thank the lord!
The level of self delusion in that person was off the scale.

I almost started feeling sorry for him, he was so out of his depth on the red carpet brief, but then when he gave it the "I'm fighting to be in the final" spiel I realised the lad has zero reflection, humility or realistic view of his talents.

That's what did it for me!
Also, the fact that he is a student MUA, has so many MU jobs but couldn't match skin-tone, enhance brows or do a very basic, scaled back makeup look? Shocking.
