It is just brilliant isn't it @Aussie.
I have watched the whole series now. We find out the Captains name and a bit more of his back story 😥. We also find out what happened to Kitty. 🙁.

I am going to miss this so much when it finishes at Christmas 😭
The Captain 🥰 We are going to watch the last episode shortly.
I've been telling my inlaws for years to watch it. They've finally started & loving it!

I'm laid up on the sofa feeling crap with covid so I've binged series 5...I was going to be good and watch it in real time but needed to cheer myself up 🤣
I hope you feel better soon 💕

🤣🤣🤣

And this is a timely reminder to not drink and Tattle 🙊

You're absolutely right. Poor Humphrey indeed. The actor that plays him also plays Robin so at least I remembered one of his characters 🤣. I've always wondered if they use him for the body shots or a body double (BA BOOM!).
Someone else brings Robin when Robin doesn't have a head.

New series definitely starts on Friday 6th October on BBC1 at 8.30pm. Hurrah, less than a week to go! 👻🎉
You’re getting over-excited - it’s just under a fortnight to go 😁

(Panicked a bit when I first read your post, as if it’s less than a week until 6th October I’ve missed several important work deadlines!)

You both have way better memories than me. I’ve no recollection of Alison and the doctor! 😳
I didn’t either and it made me laugh a lot! I’m not disliking the US version - it’s definitely not the same but if it came first I think I’d have enjoyed it then too.

This and Yondeland are my favourite TV shows in the last decade!

Just brill.
Cripes, you really have piqued my interest! Not often the BBC churn out anything decent these day, but this might be a rare exception.

The only other recent-ish comedy that I absolutely adore is "Peep Show", but that was Ch4. Hope "Ghosts" can give it some competition (y)

It gets good reviews on IMDb, and apparently, according to the trivia section

On Tuesday, 28th May 2019 BBC One announced that it had commissioned a second series of the sitcom, expected to be broadcast in 2020. Series one has been a significant success for the British broadcaster and as of the end of the first series was the highest rated British comedy TV series of 2019.
I must confess to not bothering with the BBC these days, but if this is decent non-politically-orientated sitcom I might just give it a try (y)

I absolutely love this lot. After reading the posts on here, I am really wanting to watch Yonderland. OH and me tried to find it today but had no luck finding it. The second and third series and the Christmas special were on sale on the usual websites (Amazon, Ebay, HMV) for around £6.99 each series. That is no problem, ....but every website we checked for the first series was about £150 for series 1 😯. Why is it so expensive? We can't justify paying that so we feel we are missing out on something there 😢. Is it that good?

Trevor, the Wall Street Trader, who plays the equivalent of the UK politician character, is much more likeable than the UK character.
This is an excellent point. I think it takes a bit of bravery, great writing, and commitment to the style & concept to include a character so unlikeable as Julian and as as you say, the US version has really only borrowed the set-up to base a sitcom on.
I don't think they could have "an hilarious rotter", they'd want to write him as a villain.

I think we were at a point where everyone was going to be left disappointed in some way, by any ending. When I love a show with the depth I love this one (it's probably not normal tbh) I have to just place my faith that the writers have a plan. Especially this one, where it's always the same team. I didn't want another season of scrimping and saving, I just wanted everyone to be happy.
And now we have scope for a spin off set in the hotel where the Ghosts do an epic social commentary via podcast.
