The US version of Ghosts is being shown on BBC 3 this Sunday at 8.30pm
I saw the trailer for this and am afraid it didn't seem a patch on the marvellous British version. Some things just don't translate so well but I'll definitely give it a watch - you never know, might be pleasantly surprised. 👍

I can't think of a better upbringing for a child than growing up in a massive stately home with a bunch of friendly ghosts that they could potentially interact with
In that situation I'd have no problems with the Ghosts and the baby, the death trap mansion might be somewhat off putting though 😬

Finally found time to watch the first series of Yonderland. In my opinion, it isn't as good as Ghosts but still enjoyable. They all play multiple characters in each episode. If you like odd, fantasy stuff give it a go..it's not too bad. 🙂

Enjoyed watching last year's Christmas special last night - the one with the guy camping out in Alison and Mike's field. Really good. Reminded me again how superb the writing and performances are. Looking forward to this year's special. Love Ghosts! ❤

It’s so weird to think that the actor of Mike has to act like he can’t see the ghost actors right in front of him!
Pat has my whole heart ❤
Also I’m pretty sure I read that Robin and Humphrey are the same actor, I wonder how that works when they’re filming

Do we know if there's a Christmas special this year?

Just seen on TV that All Creatures Great and Small also starts again on the 5th. That's me sorted for cosy TV.

OK so my view might be slightly different to some here. I thought the ending was perfect. I had a baby this year and it really struck for me as showing how exhausting, overwhelming and ultimately lonely in a crowded room motherhood can be. I think that more than explains why Alison wasn't quite herself. The ghosts all giving their thoughts on how to raise, how to settle, how to wind, whatever the baby and waking her up from naps made me feel so sad and frustrated for Alison (and Mike to some extent). Didn't love the overbearing mother in law trope but you know what, that's pretty realistic too.

I missed most of the ending as I was bawling from them getting in the car to drive away. Was there some significance to the room they stayed in?
I think you summed it up perfectly. I thought it was her & Mike's old bedroom.

So I’ve been lurking on this thread and decided to try the US version! I think the two things I actually liked initially (on episode 3) was 1- that Sam’s fall was a genuine accident 2- the mucky politician is the one that is chasing her; it’s just funny! I definitely agree with the comments above- it’s not subtle at all, but if you take it for what it is, it’s a time waster (I’ve decluttered the whole toy box!)

Ghosts is the best show the BBC have produced in ages! It's well written with some great characters. You can tell that most of them have had a hand in creating the characters and that's what makes a difference.

I loved the episode where we found out how Thomas died it was tragic and tragically funny 😁
Really hope it comes back for a 3rd series.
Totally agree. And the episode where we find out about Pat ❤❤

We're rewatching it all again. Brill!

The Thomas Thorne affair was genius. It was so well done. I live Ghosts. Definitely the best thing on TV

Andrew- do you mean Thomas?

And wasn't Robin hit by lightning while hiding from a bear? It's why he can control the electricity.

(Edit - 'beheaded man' lol, poor Humphry)
🤣🤣🤣

And this is a timely reminder to not drink and Tattle 🙊

You're absolutely right. Poor Humphrey indeed. The actor that plays him also plays Robin so at least I remembered one of his characters 🤣. I've always wondered if they use him for the body shots or a body double (BA BOOM!).

There's a new series starting tonight
Am excited already 😀
Yippee! Only the other day I wondered where be the ghosts?
(Embarrassed to be so attached to fictional dead characters- nay I adore the living humans too!)
