This isn’t technically gender related, to the current discussion, but I had to share. On Twitter last night there was a big buzz about a black American transgender woman, Sai, who had supposedly been kidnapped. A supposed friend posted a video of Sai in a cupboard, hysterical, saying she had been kidnapped, descriptions of her kidnapper. A massive long thread about this TW pleading to help find her - all with a go fund me link attached to the bottom for donations. All the updates about her kidnapping were coming via this friend. People went to the police after a few hours of no responses... and then the friend just said ‘oh she’s safe now’. I smelled a rat, I commented saying not to be gullible bearing in mind 1. this particular TW had scammed people out of $25000 once already through gofundme - and 2. This current go fund me had racked up $50000 and people were giving their last $10 all so this person ‘could escape and transition’... omg the abuse I got. ‘You don’t know anything‘, ‘you keep your mouth shut, you’re white, your opinion doesn’t matter’, ‘you’re cisgender, don’t speak’ ‘you‘re a transphobe, you only disbelieved because this woman is trans’, on and on and on... it came out that the TW had scammed everyone and was hiding in a cupboard in her house to post the videos. Her friend (who had created the initial thread asking for help) said she didn’t realise. I don’t believe that, I think she was in on it, but no proof.

But even afterwards - people were sitting there calling this person a victim! After she’d scammed everyone! And apparently being wary of such things makes me transphobic. Not because it’s online and the creator of the thread was waving the money pot immediately after? Okay. 😅

Naomi Wu, a Chinese tech influencer who makes videos in English is known for wearing very "provocative" clothes. She is a les and doesn't dress this way to attract men; she says it is part of the expression of her "gender identity" and she doesn't feel feminine or good about herself in any other style of dress. She's a real woman, but when she posted about being sexually harassed by men for the way she dresses, a transwoman commented with "we trans people understand, we don't have a choice in how we express ourselves, I consider you an honourary transwoman!" I don't think I've ever rolled my eyes so hard

That's the problem with politics mostly in Anglophone circles nowadays. You can't disagree with someone without being 'phobic 'racist. You can't have a nuanced point of view or stay open minded to other people's views. "nO I'm RIght Shut UP".

Hope this is ok to post here.
Has anyone here seen that a lingerie company are using a tw to model their underwear. And immediately blocking anyone who dares to question it. He is modelling most of their collection on their website.
That's some tragic looking underwear 😐

Yeah this is getting really weird now. Simply disagreeing with someone who is not white/not straight/trans/etc etc makes you racist/homophobic/transphobic. I would think those groups probably don’t appreciate being infantilised in that way but 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just had a look at their Insta. Quite cool that they've got models of all shapes and sizes. Then I realised this is a NURSING BRA company? Are they serious? Sorry, but no. There's plenty of women out there who can model for them. Why are TW constantly forced into what's meant to be a space for women?

this is so bizarre because why would looking at someone with , obviously a pen, help to advertise to someone with a tina, explain how the underwear looks? Obviously advertising to different clothes sizes is important to see different fits etc but this...

If you haven't yet watched the videos made by Magdalen Berns then I recommend her YouTube channel.

Magdalen sadly passed away in 2019 and I was devastated to learn this. She was one of the most astute, articulate, clever women who was a beacon of hope for all of us who are fighting against the TRAs misogyny. She single handedly broke down the ridiculous TRA arguments with common sense, wit and intelligence.

[Image description (see their Instagram page)

Amy is wearing hideous underwear against a red background. She's smiling now, but she should contact NHS 111 because she appears to have an extremely large abscess on her vulva.] 😳
